My company recently decided to hire a MTF tranny and he's starting on the 18th. I manage the department he'll be joining, and I personally train every new hire, so I participated in the interview process, along with HR and the general manager. We interviewed several candidates who were just as qualified, if not more so, but HR ultimately has the final say.
I work for a very liberal company… we have to take diversity training courses annually ffs; most of them center around troons and pronoun shit with a smattering of gay and POC shit thrown in for the sake of appearances. For obvious reasons, I'm a closeted TERF at work.
Anyway, the troon in question raised a bunch of huge red flags for me right off the bat. The first red flag was his attire; every real woman we interviewed was dressed professionally… some more modestly than others, but none of them raised any eyebrows. This mother fucker wore an ill fitting, floral print, halter dress with a leather jacket, and Doc Marten platform boots. The second red flag was that he lasted for less than 6 months at his previous two jobs… when I asked him about it, he claimed he left due to workplace hostility. The third red flag was that his professional references were people he hasn't worked with in 3-5 years.
When he left, HR and the GM asked me what I thought. I said that I wasn't sure if "she" was the best choice… I doubt they lurk lcf, but I know a problematic workplace tranny when I see one. I basically said that "she" struck me as the least professional candidate of the bunch… we interviewed people who've been with the same company for years… people who listed their current bosses as their professional references… people who wore suits to the fucking interview.
In the end, HR chose to go with him. I'm livid. But at the same time, I can't wait to see what kind of fuckery he rains down upon us.
