Well it's actually a combination of both. She created an image for herself which was fake and she's now shown her true colours by bitching and snapping back to the very people who have questioned her behaviour and who followed her within the toy and kawaii fashion communities. She has belittled those hobbies and in doing so has frustrated many of the people who subscribed to her. Heather's attitude stinks. When she decided to air her dirty laundry in public approximately a year ago everything went downhill from there. She's made poor decision after another. When she decided that she no longer wanted to dress in pastel or colorful clothes or collect toys she should have simply deleted her youtube channel completely. She SHOULD NOT promote video content on there that is no longer relevant to who she is (claiming to be) now. She has no credibility. Everytime you type in BJD or vintage toys she comes up near the top of the list on youtube yet she's bad mouthed both of those communities on several occasions since. It's disrespectful and very deceptive. There is no authenticity whatsoever. It's not the moral thing to do. She could have quietly disappeared from social media and returned in prehaps a years time and started over on youtube with a completely new channel.
If she truly believes that what she posts on Instagram is acceptable and accurate why does she then cunningly delete those posts shortly afterwards? She does it to incite people but now the backlash is getting stronger she can't deal with it. Her behaviour is so farcical. She says she's leaving social media, well hopefully she means at least for several months not days. She certainly has an unhealthy relationship with social media. She's digging herself deeper and deeper into a shit hole to the point where she'll struggle to get out of it unless she seeks professional help and is willing to get it by swallowing her pride. She'd never admit how wrong she was to criticise the toy hobby or those that like to wear cheerful, cute or colorful clothes. Instead she has the nerve to blame them and now say they are haters. Hate is a strong word, they are simply very disappointed and rather cross and rightfully so.
