I agree with most anons ITT that modern anime looks choppy and washed out, but let's be real - for a 90s series MKR was not animated very well either. The best compliment I can give is that some clothing and armor look at least ok or somewhat better but there's very little they tried to keep about the original art direction, and it fell face first into the same traps people have been pointing out about games that have more realism but are ugly or uncanny or blur too much together into a bland mash. The brightness and colors of the original made it more dreamlike sometimes. It's not like it had the most original overall art direction ever, but at least you could see the purposeful hand of those who worked on it

If you ever give Oblivion (with some mods) a try again in the future, I'll warn you that dungeon exploring might get grating. The best parts of Oblivion don't need you to spend that much time with them but there's a lot less variety and a lot less mini stories inside them compared to Skyrim besides rare exceptions.

Kek it's funny you mentioned this because I'm watching the RLM video that just dropped about back to the future, and I had to kek at the bit where Michael J Fox is put in drag to play one of Marty's future kids, because my first thought was

I can't believe I didn't notice Michael J Fox in drag before, although I guess it has been at least ten years since the last time I saw it.

I've seen the first one a million times, I still remember watching it with my dad for the first time when I was like 9. I don't find Marty annoying, I honestly find him endearing and kinda cute kek. I can see how it would be irritated that he arbitrarily alternates between being clumsy and being cool, but I like it for some reason. The movie also has a fantastic score and soundtrack, just incredibly iconic. It's a shame Zemeckis lost his touch over the years, because BTTF and Roger Rabbit are both so kino, just pure movie magic. The sequels are decent, but I don't have as strong of a desire to re-watch them as the original.

i have no one to tell about this, so i'm telling you nonas: i watched this Quebeçois film "Mommy" on an airplane recently and i genuinely have never seen a film that has captured '00s Canadian (or perhaps just Southern Ontario and apparently Montreal) childhood summer in a suburb so well before. Though the film is set in 2015 and filmed in 2012/3, it still has a very 2000s vibe to it. I don't know if i necessarily recommend it because it's about the titular mother's somewhat incestous relationship with her volatile, fucked up teenage son and can be visceral-in-a-mundane type of uncomfortable, but damn if it didn't capture a time and space I haven't seen before in any of the films I've seen.

I don’t understand the fandom’s insistence on Katniss being Native American. I don’t mind it at all as a headcanon, but why do people act like it’s explicitly stated that she is? And the reasons they give are so ridiculous—it’s always that she has olive skin, wears her hair in a braid, is good with a bow, and is from Appalachia. I think it was still decent but it was a huge step down after Ballad of songbirds and snakes. Bosas was sizeably longer so characters had a lot more space to be fleshed out and we also got to learn a lot more about panem and its history. Even the small characters felt important and interesting. Maybe its just me but while reading sotr I couldnt give two shits about newly introduced characters like louella and lenore dove.

I think a sequel about a post-revolution panem would be interesting. If it will be a prequel i kinda hope it wont be about finnicks hunger games because I dont think it has enough new stuff to bring to table. We already got the "This victor pulled a really big stunt but it was erased from history of the games" thing with Haymitch's story anyways, I don't know what else could be done with another victor book. With Finnick only cruel aspect of the games that could be expanded upon would be sexual abuse of victors and that would be too disturbing for the audience.

Lenore was such a retarded character especially compares to Lucy Gray. I agree tho Ballad was a good prequel and villain origin story. Although Snow is obviously awful his inner dialogue was honestly hilarious at times and a lot of what happened with him was a good take on Nature vs Nurture. I can’t believe that book and SOTR are written by the same person. Haymitchs plot armor was fucking insane. And Snow in SOTR was such a fucking tard it was such a vibe shift on his character he felt so cartoonish and not calculated and cool at all.
