In Phoebe news, despite going dark on every other account, she was continuing to post on her nail art instagram as recently as mid December. The caption of each post details exactly which products are used and so I thought it would be fun to create a spreadsheet of the products featured on 'nailsbyphoebx' as well as any documented Insta stories I could find from the main account earlier this year.
The total of £268.16 (currently $351 USD) is based on the lowest prices for each product in the photos that I could find online. Phoebe loves a bargain (has she ever mentioned that?) so if anything was ever on sale then this spreadsheet uses the lowest recorded sale price. One postage charge is included per brand if free UK postage is not available, so really this is a low-ball estimate assuming Phoebe always combined postage.
And of course, this is only what there is evidence of, and this could be just the tip of the iceberg. Phoebe mentions using the Dystopia Nails 'Samhain Collection' which is £32.50 but I have only included the single £6 varnish confirmed in the photos. While going back through previous threads, I stumbled across the group shot of AJ Nails Collection and Prism Polish which contains around another £30 of unidentified polishes, and other posts mention dotting tools, liquid latex, and feature other decals I couldn't identify so we're very likely upwards of £300/$400 spent on Phoebe's nails in 2019. And almost all of this data was gathered from August-December, there is no record of her nails January-July so this number could ACTUALLY BE DOUBLED if spending was a steady average.
Disclaimer 1: The point of this exercise was definitely not to echo the strawman meme that "poor people aren't allowed nice things", only that it's incredible how much is spent on Phoebe's nails and I'm having a blast learning to use spreadsheets (the total was obtained using a formula!).
Disclaimer 2: I'm sure some of this stuff was "gifted/donated", which just goes to show how spoiled and out of touch Phoebe is.
