>>703483The only online jobs that pay decently are normal jobs that are just located from home. You can find them by going on whatever job search websites are popular in your country and specifying something like ‘work from home’ or ‘remote working’. However, I assume that wouldn’t be allowed due to your visa.
You can earn a little from translating, typing, academic studies, market research, etc but unlikely to be that much. If you plan not to get deported, obviously be careful with reporting income as necessary.

The thing with equally intelligent guys is that The ones I’ve met tend to be really fucking annoying about it and it drives me up the wall, because they don’t know they possess the same information that I have, they think they’re superior and that’s motherfucking annoying to hell and back.

For my senior economics project in highschool, my teacher made everyone in the senior class play a stock game that used a website that gave us $10k imaginary money and was based on actual stock data. Basically let us run wild and a lot of people came out with more money but his whole lesson was 'stocks aren't entirely bad if you know what you're doing and are a legitimate way to grow your money'. He was also adamant about investing in Tesla. Highschool me should've taken the money I got from my parents and invested in Tesla as soon as I turned 18 lol. I'm not super big or well versed on investing/stocks, but my roth IRA is mostly invested in mutual funds and I only own some stocks in Tesla and Apple (but I know some people will discourage owning individual stocks) because of the stock split that happened a few months ago.

>>705208That's an interesting question. Maybe? I think there's going to be more digital exhibitions in the future. Perhaps technology will take us so far one day that we'll be able to visit a museum through VR from our own livingspaces, eliminating the need for museums all together. Museums are also largely dependent on public/government funding (at least where I am) so I think it's also largely dependent how much people want to continue to support the preservation of art and cultural heritage, especially over other matters perceived as more pressing that also need money. it used to be super stuffy but I could never blow it and clear it out, whenever I blew my nose it just came up empty. eventually I started relying on nose spray at night since this happened most when I was lying down.
after the surgery my breathing improved a lot and this doesn't happen as much, but I don't know why.
that said I don't have a tiny barbie nose, it's just a normal straight nose without the hump and crookedness and the tip isn't sagging downwards anymore. I don't know how it is for people who have a lot of it shaved off to make it sloped.

I think that due to its pop culture symbolism, many women have attempted this method. A Tennessee woman was hospitalized and charged with first degree attempted murder after she was found bleeding profusely in her bathtub, in an attempt to abort her 24 week fetus.

I don't know whether to ask this in the fitness or fashion thread so I'll compromise and ask here.
Is pic related body shape considered fat nowadays? How would I dress to flatter it?
Obviously I'm not a Greek goddess made out of marble but I've never had weight issues or thought there was anything wrong with my body (it's fine, I don't mind it) until my bf told me I "don't have the flattest of tummies" and should try to lose weight because I'm chubby. I'm shaped more or less exactly like pic related, slightly cinched waist with smallish boobs and a bigger bum, bottom-heavy with a bit of a belly.
I'm at a normal weight, swim regularly, don't eat all that much, both my mother and I have the same body shape with the same abdomen and always have.
I disagree with him on being chubby, but I do think that maybe the way I dress makes me look fatter than I am because of how I'm shaped, so what style would fit this body shape? Obviously I can adapt it to suit my taste, but having a certain look/aesthetic in mind first would make it easier to visualize.

We're constantly exposed to anachans and photoshopping so it definitely makes you feel fatter, and everyone's perception is affected by this type of exposure as well, hence your bf's reaction

In relation to anon's earlier post itt, with the photo of the sculpture.
I also relate to that body shape, not exactly but many times I see women in old sculptures and paintings, I feel represented body-wise. But I feel like this body type is no longer represented today, so I also felt unsure like anon did. Is it because back then they didn't have photoshop and plastic surgery? Or simply that today a different body shape is preferred? Granted I don't see a lot of naked women but when it's pictures they are always photoshopped or barbie-like with big breasts. No insult to women with that beautiful body type (as much as it's real) but why did it change? Even seeing old photos of women (the earliest nudes) they look so much more human and natural in ways beyond what I'm mentioning. Sorry if I sound crazy or rude to others I just feel that something's changed. It made me think something's wrong with me until I saw old artworks/photos but now I feel confused
No. 706942
>>706937You're totally right, I feel the same way. It sounds like bragging to say your body looks like a greek statue but their bodies would be considered flabby and flat these days.
The most obvious reason for the change is mass media imo, back in the day your perspective on beauty was limited to the women around you, few of whom you would actually see naked. With photography and film, exposure increases and so do standards. And men are highly inclined towards supernormal stimuli, they just want more and more extreme exaggeration.
I also think health and fitness is much better understood and more important now, being soft and average will never beat fit and toned when we know how much healthier the latter is.

>>706868We have pretty much the same body, anon! Everyone already covered how much your bf is shit, so here're some clothing tips that I hope are vague enough and are remotely helpful to make you look normal and not fatter than you are.
I like to emphasize the line from shoulder to shoulder. I can do this with turtlenecks (avoid those that fold or wrinkle at the neck since they can look bulky), boat necklines, or even strapped dresses over your top.
We don't have flat tummies, so I try to wear things that emphasis the hourglass, ie the sides of your waist instead of depth. The color black, structured skirts, etc.
I like to show off leg-shape, either with high-waisted leggings or dresses that are cut or ride up mid-thigh. The logic is that we see your legs as proof that you aren't a fatty. For shoes: Boots, heels, etc, to lengthen your legs.

>>706937> Is it because back then they didn't have photoshop and plastic surgery? They didn’t, but these sculptures are not necessarily true to life. A sculptor likely would’ve incorporated the beauty standards of the time to present the woman depicted (whether real or mythical) in a desirable way - regardless of whether she actually looked like that. The majority of Greek statues look like this but it’s unlikely all the women had this body shape. It was less of a risky business back then too as candids hardly would’ve been leaked, kek.
> but why did it change?I feel like there’s a lot of reasons for that but general rule of history:
> toned or muscular women = labourers, poor, not desirable> skinny women = poor, can’t afford to eat enough, not ripe for bearing children, possibly diseased, undesirableOf course there’s exceptions to this and it’s very eurocentric, but that’s tl;dr
Cultural shifts have occurred as
>>706942 pointed out
> health and fitness is much better understood and more important now,Fitness culture really took off in the past century, originally for physical benefits but it’s also worth noting that women began wearing appropriate fitness attire during this era which showed off their bodies thus the results of their exercise. In the centuries prior to this, women would be so covered up that their bodies wouldn’t matter much as long as they were within a certain weight range. Any unsightly distribution could be fixed with undergarments and flattering cuts. (Kinda off topic but kinda relevant because there was a long period of time where women’s bodies were covered up so the standards were more related to what could be achieved with clothes, for example bustles)
Also having higher body fat is no longer associated with wealth as even impoverished people can achieve that these days. Thinness is more associated with being financially comfortable as you can afford to buy highly nutritious, calorie-sparse food and not have to rely on body fat reserves. Think about how fancy restaurants serve tiny portion sizes yet charge stupid money.
Sorry to sperg just find this really interesting! Pic rel: fun fact, Greek statues were usually painted and not plain white.

No. 707713

For example, there are tattoo artist that won't do facial tattoos on somebody with zero tattoos and there are piercers that won't give you a massive coinslot helix if you haven't had a single helix.
They only do it because they don't want to do work that somebody will regret or blame them for.
Your nipples are hidden most of the time and can be removed with minimal scarring so I can't see why they'd have an issue.

As for food, the food that animals eat also has a smell, and we eat the same stuff with some seasoning on it so it's not surprising they want to eat human food. Also animals have better smell than us so maybe our food smells a little tastier to them, and also because they see us eating it, so they want to see what the hype is about. That's why pets love to stare at people eating. Obviously some animals cant tell what food is actually good for them all the time, they just know it's food (
coughcough dogs), and some don't know what is actually food and what's an object
Like the other anon said, animals aren't stupid! A lot of them evolved to do crazy shit simply to survive, so it's not surprising they know when to eat and what food is food.

>>708648 , I've definitely heard of women picking up on when their friends start shitting on them around men to impress them. The way that discovery is written really frames it like "less attractive" women have a vendetta against physically attractive women and try to cope in whatever way possible to reduce any cognitive dissonance. I don't fully buy into that though. Because what about female groups who consist of only physically attractive people? Is that suggesting that each woman believes her friends aren't more attractive than herself? Seems unlikely, imo.
No. 708663
>>708656> The way that discovery is written really frames it like "less attractive" women have a vendetta against physically attractive women I was thinking about this because I'm asexual so I don't feel competition in regards to men but considering that men are morely likely to promote attractive women regardless of their skills and effort, I could find myself having negative emotions against attractive women if I was convinced or had experience that they impeded my career.
And it's not as if we have calculated thoughts about this meaning we usually have some motivated reasoning to justify our feelings and bias.
> Because what about female groups who consist of only physically attractive people?I honestly don't know. The finding seems to suggest exactly what you've mentioned about each woman believing herself to be more attractive than the other.
No. 708666
>>708663And to add, I don't think that "less attractive" women are petty if they're less favourable to "more attractive" women. If the society treats attractive people better, particularly women who are judged more based on their looks, it's only natural to feel some sort of resentment. When life isn't fair, it's a normal response, I think. Although talking shit, spreading false rumours about someone is terrible no matter who does it for whatever reasons.
On the other hand, a more attractive woman could feel the same resentment for not being taken seriously.
All in all, it's depresssing that looks are so detrimental when you're a woman even if you're not interested in men. The competition between men is a lot different and I envy them for that.

Try to get attention in a positive way, whether that's making youtube videos, creating a small business online, pushing yourself into a difficult career, forming relationships with people who will validate you
If all else fails, get a pet who loves you and won't leave you alone. Pets are better than people for attention tbh.

Especially now, here with everyone wearing masks, a full face is a little silly to me. I have some coworkers that wear full foundation every day and their masks are stained af, I'm generally a neat person so it would squick me out putting a stained mask on my face everyday…..
I also like to wear more makeup when I'm out with my friends or just out around town, it feels nice to put together a nice outfit + do my makeup to complement it!

all women they should be grateful and happy for male attention. Pretty women aren’t exempt from this fact. Also, it’s a common misconception that attractive women are approached constantly and just tittering over the amount of male attention they receive, thinking they’re above it all. To the contrary they’re often approached less because guys assume they’re “out of their league” and go for an average girl they think they might have a chance with, leaving only the occasional brazen asshole who doesn’t have anything to lose to hit on her, often making her feel less attractive than she is.

Some say it strengthens the hair shaft from the deposited pigment. But most henna bleeds even after several washes, and is super annoying to apply.
Also NEVER put indigo in your hair unless you know for a fact that you want dark shit hair for the next several years. Indigo doesn't really lift out even with bleach. Check the henna ingredients for indigo because I swear even if there's a small amount it's gonna make your hair dark and you won't ever be able to lighten that shit without destroying your hair.

Is my fear about my teeth and going to the dentist justifiable? I haven't been to a dentist in around 2+ years since I became an adult and it stopped being free. I've developed a teeth grinding habit and on top of that I realised I have at least four cavities in my back molars. The two bottom molars have large grey cracks and the top ones have small white and brown discoloration and are starting to cause some discomfort. They've been there at least a couple months or even a year because I thought they were just cracks or stains. I'm terrified that they're too far gone now and that they'll have to be pulled. I'm not even signed up to a dentists so I need to wait until monday and hope they can fit me in knowing they probably have a backlog of people waiting. Every artist is different with how they work but I think it's common for a client to give a broad description like the examples you gave and the artist will make a drawing based on that. So instead of handbagshop.com getting your payment directly, you pay via paypal and they handle the credit card information/transaction and then the seller gets paid into their paypal account.
The seller can withdraw the money into a real bank account or use their paypal funds. Keeping a large sum in your paypal account (if you're a seller) is a mistake since sometimes paypal lock your account for spurious reasons, but it's generally fine for normal low cost transactions for items.
The main benefit is security, the seller never get your payment info.
