i feel like a lot of smallweb sites these days are really same-y, and don't try to explore the creative possibilities of html, css, and javascript. even the ones with cool art and backgrounds or whatever are all basically the same box layouts, with the same generic blog/about/shrine contents. it's a shame, because it essentially turns your website into a glorfied socmed page. i think the whole point of having a website over a twitter or whatever else is the ability to break out of those predefined boxes.

They're deleting Fc2 websites because their servers are too old and costy. In July they will launch Fc2 Homepage, and considering they made a migration guide and the aforementioned costs, I wouldn't be surprised if they delete the sites on the old one after a bit. I hope I'm wrong though, I don't want to say goodbye to 20 years worth of fanworks and art.
Internet archive barely has saved anything on top, and uploading pages there takes forever…

I've given up on getting the track (background image) working, I only got it running on a test file briedfly and never again. So that's a win at least
