I also want to clarify my position on what things should and shouldn't be in this thread. My issue is not really with the legal or server storage concerns, but the public exposure of information. If you find someone's parents' names and phone numbers, I don't think you should post it in any public place, be it lolcow or a pastebin site.
Some people uploaded things to pastebin sites then posted the links here, which completely defeats the point. I don't actually have a problem with sensitive info being stored on the server, so in those cases you might as well just post it here directly or don't post it at all (though pastebins are fine for mirroring and organizing info).
I don't think finding or privately taking advantage of family information is wrong, even if the person is underaged, but by exposing it to the public you don't know what might happen. For example, say someone's father works at a large company; in a few weeks someone could harass his co-workers or legal department and make life difficult for him due to his daughter's actions, (likely) not his own. And the same goes for publicly posting full names and addresses of minors; I can't exactly force you to not post things outside of this website, but by posting that info publicly you're potentially putting a minor at risk, so please take that into consideration. No, nothing bad is going to happen to them in all likelihood, but if something did it could be very bad. Plus, some minors don't necessarily possess the critical judgment to determine if what they're doing is right or wrong. I think some do, but it's easier to put a demarcation at age 18 rather than try and judge that individually.
That's why I don't want to allow it. If you want to call family members yourself or share info with people you trust, go ahead, but don't post it publicly. And of course, once again, if the info is of the person themselves and they are 18 or older, feel free to post whatever you want about them publicly.

Okay so Dicks (I recommend going to the biggest store with this kind of stuff, which in this case is Dicks) uses ink tags that require a magnet on their sneakers. They’re real easy to get off if you have a magnet. and the one that I managed to take the shoes from, box and all, was one that happened to be in a mall. It’s waayyyy different when it’s a mall store for various reasons, but I’ll tell you what I did and what I would do if the store was in a shopping center or stand-alone.
So this mall store is freakin massive even for Dicks okay

It has 3 entrances/exits, one of which leads out to the mall. It even has two checkout sections. I parked in the lot to go into Dicks just like I would any other department store and went straight to the shoes. Their SAs are really lax and won’t pester you for help if you don’t ask for it. They may come up to you and ask if you’re doing okay or have any questions but that’s about it. It’s just too big of a store for them to keep an eye on everyone, so I would go in the afternoon or evening when it’s busy to really make sure you fly under the radar which is always a good thing.
The first thing I did was grab the sneakers. Then I walked around for a bit as a normal shopper, holding the box in plain sight as if I was planning on buying it. I shopped around and picked up a decent amount of things on hangers to make it look like I was a real serious shopper buying all these workout clothes and sneakers. I try to make sure my hands look as (reasonably) full as possible so they don’t even bother looking at what you have. Then I went into a fitting room (the ones in this store were self-operated, but in others you have to call over an associate to unlock it for you. It doesn’t make thaaaat much of a difference esp since I don’t think they ever count items. It might actually be better to wait for someone to leave an already occupied fitting room so you don’t even need to call the attention of a SA, remember it’s best to let as few people see you as possible) and took the tag off. It didn’t take very long to get the tag off but I rustled around a bit with the hangers and everything to make it seem like I was actively trying things on. Then I put the box in my shopping bag that I brought with me because

That’s where it gets tricky because you need to consider the store’s surroundings. It might look unnatural for you to have a shopping bag from another store, so what you could do is put the shoes in your bag and then as quietly as possible break down the box to fold up and put in your bag as well. Remember not to leave the box behind.
If there are people out there waiting for you or just people out there in general it might be best to take some of the clothes out with you as if you’re gonna buy them. If there’s nobody, then you can just walk right out leaving all the clothes in the fitting room. Look around for a tad bit more and leave. Big sporting goods stores like that are different because SAs usually don’t care about you unless you need their help.

There’s so many Dicks SAs and it’s such a big store that it’s hard for anybody to even be sus. So this summer in late June I got caught at Walmart during which was maybe my 2nd or 3rd time stealing anythingfrom a store.

I didn’t go in with the intention of stealing, it was when I realized I only had 6 bucks on me that I decided I could just take it and it wouldn’t be that big of a deal. I saw big monitors down every aisle of the cosmetics section but assumed they weren’t being watched because in my opinion this walmart is gross and ratchet af. I just stuck the eyeliner in my bag right on the spot. Then I realized how easy it was to just put something in my bag and I took a few other cosmetics. I had an hour to kill before I had to get to work so I walked around the store for a bit more to see if there was anything else I could take real quick.
I went into the bathroom to fix my makeup and get ready for work and also because I had to go to the bathroom. When I came out of the stall there was a woman that looked well-put together. She was wearing pretty nice clothes and had her makeup done very nice. I was washing my hands and doing what I could to fix my hair while she was right beside me doing similar things. I went over to my bag to pop the eyeliner that i wanted out of the packaging and touch up what I wanted to fix. I went back and got a mascara, a concealer, and the other few cosmetics that I had in my bag. I guess when I turned around one of the times she thought I was leaving the bathroom because she kinda tried to get out right before me, but when she saw I wasn’t actually finished she was like “oh wait one more thing” and went to the mirror and fixed her lip gloss. She still stayed in the bathroom for a bit until I more or less politely stared her down until she left.
When she left I walked around the store for a little bit more to kill some time. I noticed at one point that it was like a shadow following me. I knew I was being followed and every time I turned around I saw someone dipping into the closest aisle. After like the 4th time I noticed that it was that same woman from the bathroom but didn’t think anything of it. This lady was seriously so bad at hiding like one time I saw her look at me and quickly turn away and she tried to hide behind this bubble wrap and it was really sad now that I think about it like I considered for a while going back there and telling her she’s bad at following people. But of course I was a rookie and on top of making all these rookie mistakes I didn’t know that this was a tendency of lp. I finally got around to leaving and I felt the woman run up behind me and get right in front of me as I walked out of the store and and she was like hi how ya doin and I was like “good! :)” i literally was so naive that i thought I won something or something like that lol. Then she told me that she was with walmart lp and that she’d “like her merchandise back” and i almost ran but I’m a pansy in the face of authority so I just went back with her into her office.
Her office was just the room with the monitors and it was so cramped I was afraid to breathe. There was another Walmart worker in there who i guess is the one that watches the cameras/is the “witness”. I didn’t have any id on me or anything so she made me write down all the information I knew about myself. She even said that she might have to look at my facebook to prove that it’s me. Before I knew it the cops were there and I was in the back of a squad car headed to the station. The lp lady was a huge bitch and I think the cops knew it was a little unnecessary to have her call them to arrest me because when I started crying as heavily as I did they tried to calm me down and asked me about school and other stuff about my life just to make conversation. The total amount of stuff was like $50 so the charge was retail theft and I had to go to the courthouse to set a hearing date.
The cop who arrested me was there and he talked to me and my parents about a plea bargain before we went in. 16 hours of community service, a $1 fine, and

I can’t believe how lucky i got off. All the stuff took me like a week to do so when I went back in 90 days the charge was brought down to an ordinance violation (what you get if you’re in a park after dark or you let your dog loose off its leash or something).

I don’t really know what to do so I’m just going to write a list of stuff that we ALL should do to stay safe.
-Use a proxy for your ip address (Zenmate for Chrome and Firefox)
-Remove exif data on your photos. (Exif data stores your location) (Simply just taking a screenshot of your photo)
-Make sure nothing on your blog links to any other social media
-Stay away from Poshmark
-DO NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME
-Be careful of showing your tattoos if any. I am aware that one of my photos shows my old tattoos but I no longer have those.
-If your lifting blog is your secondary account be careful not to like any lifting posts. Only reblog to your lifting page.
-Private ALL social media, just incase.
