>>1195063The goal for coping with anxiety is learning strategies to make it livable for you and to desensitize yourself over time so the things that use to be
triggering are more tolerable and less reactive for you.
There’s a couple things off the top of my head. We as humans typical don’t breathe correctly. It’s a side effect of our medical culture cutting babies cords too early and not properly emptying the lungs. Look up the vase breathe. It’s a technique used to fill the lungs from bottom to top and then back down. The rush of oxygen can help you relax. The shallower your breathe the higher your cortisol levels. The harder to be not stressed.
Next breathing technique is the 5-2-7. A therapist taught it to me in school as a teen, but it’s breathing in for five. Holding for 2. Breathing out for seven. When you do this you’re doing the opposite of a panic attack. Which means your rushing oxygen to your brain and helping your brain hard reset faster.
My anxiety and ptsd can co combine so I’ll also throw out I like having one ear bud in in non professional settings with groups. The dual audios helps ground you and keeps my ptsd from being as easy to trick my brain. If you’re learning another language it could even be music in another language. Then you can focus on on the words and try to practice translating to distract yourself.
Fiddle jewelry or items is good for Stims and anxiety hands. I tend to itch or pull on my ears before a panic attack. So spinner rings or bracelets with turning gears. Stuff to give my hands to do when I start to have the anxiety buzz in my skin.
When I worked a really high stress job I also was taking valerian root. It took quite a bit but it mellowed me almost as well as my previous anxiety meds and let me get through school when combined with other strategies.

Not to kpop sperg but I was really into it back in the early 2010s and I distinctly remember how irrelevant BTS were. At the time they debuted we were inundated with swaggy hiphop nugu groups riding Big Bang's popularity and they were just one of many, completely indistinct from the rest (and there were also a tonne of groups with names starting with B/acronyms and they blended in because of that too).
Since I stopped following kpop when they got big their explosion in popularity was legitimately confusing because of how generic they were. The only thing I distinctly remember was their stans going HARD for them and spamming about them on other people's videos etc.

He expected me to be available to him 24 hours a day but it was totally okay for him to disappear for several days on end and it was me who is wrong if I questioned it. Claimed me interviewing for a used car dealership must have been a sex trafficking scheme. Me working a shitty retail job meant I need to quit because it sucked. Me working at a restaurant was suspicious because I didn't give him every single detail when I went to interviews and got the job even though he ignored me most of the time. If I got good tips it was suspicious to him. I wasn't able to be happy about making money, good grades or anything else because to him it was all a plan for people to hurt me or meant I was messing around behind his back.it obviously bothered him enough to threaten to end a long term relationship, which is a huge deal and a life changing thing to do but also really went out of his way, and I mean really tried to hardcore to justify that "he doesn't care, I'd be dead to him if I cheated, but he doesn't care"
Definitely held me back for several years and I'm lucky to have gotten out while I can before I ended up in my 20s with nowhere to go and completely fucked over. You're missing out on life and it's only going to get worse anon. You'll lose pieces of yourself and he will resent you because "you're not who you use to be, you're different and he doesn't like it". It's how these relationships all turn out. They dropped their school rebel concept to join the whump train that was going at the time. Being rappers, it was very angsty and they attracted some particularly miserable new fans who deified them but also revelled in the boyyys self harming or having EDs. The company included mental health questions in their fan survey and then dragged out the emo undertones for years after finding out the Army were all depressed.
Meanwhile, the fandom was working harder than the production company. They really took up aggressive spamming and fostered this massive
victim complex. Basically acting like trannies, pushing BTS as broken suffering underdogs done wrong by the industry (but at the same time perfect badasses who collect awards). Many fans joined for a sense community, where stanning and fantasy mothering was a required activity. When One Direction split, a lot of their fangirls felt “homeless” and there was a big scramble to get them into BTS. Since then it’s just been a matter of visibility, so when you look at kpop you’d see BTS first and then meet a very biased fan carefully disparaging other groups. Then they did actually become the most popular by numbers and sales. There’s more to it but yep.

>>1197208Depends on the fabric and depends on the dye. You can bleach any fabric but the result depends on what it actually is (cotton, polyester…) and you can actually damage a lot the fabric even though you don't use large amounts of bleach if the fabric itself is delicate, like silk. I've only dyed natural fabrics like cotton, linen or viscose because that's what the dye instructions of the package suggested, otherwise you get bad irregular coloration and insufficient permanence of the dye. You need to know exactly what your dress is made of and sometimes there's an unmentioned percentage of polyester in strings or stitches that won't change in colour and remain like the original or, if you bleach succesfully, they will remain white. In a few words:
>Find what the dress is made ofThere are certain fabrics that you can't dye at home because they need an industrial chemical process
>Look out for ways of bleaching/decoloring it safelyAgain, you may not find a good solution for this
>Find a suitable dye>Follow instructionsAnd reply with your findings! I love dyeing from time to time and I know it can be tricky.

They won't admit that the Blijf Van Mijn Lijf houses are full, that the toeslagen affaire is still going on, women lost their kids, are being put out on the street, or are stuck living with
abusive scrotes and they're not getting any sympathy. Even if they pretend to be progressive, they don't give a rats ass about women stuck in the bible belt and don't realize that services don't reach into there and that no it's not actually easy to move. The mothers in the biblebelt are Carrie White's mom tier Christian and punish their daughters for getting their period, drive gay and lesbian kids to suicide, send them to conversion therapy, cover up for husband's or male family member's pedophilia etc. (Upper) middle class women see the country as nearly perfect, as if it's still the 80's or something. "Just needs some tweaks", meanwhile it has Kafkaesque bureaucracy you can only understand how messed up it is if you work with it or have the unfortunate circumstance of dealing with it. Only the actual lower class women are actually bearable to be around, because they know what's up. The rest is superficially nice, but the lack of empathy for other women in deep shit is incredibly disturbing. Reformed protestantism/calvinist morality makes everyone in the north think that bad things only happen to bad people, you must've sinned to have caused it. Even the atheist ones have internalized calvinism, because it's part of Dutch culture and you can't escape it unless you're in the south or a traditionally catholic area (even the atheists who come from there are just nicer and more empathetic, it's why anti capitalist parties came from a catholic party, meanwhile capitalism was literally invented through calvinist morality, see Max Weber).

Anyways glad that they got rid of it, our government encourage people with disabilities to learn to work at their pace and/or have a daytime activities. What’s wrong sith that? Back then the WAJONG really encouraged people who weren’t disabled to just sit at home. It was heavily abused, don’t deny it. Besides people with disabilities want to and can also work! But they need guidance and there’s plenty of organization that provide them to get the adequate guidance.
>economically homelessWe live in rooms instead of 4 bedroom appartments when we’re lower middle class. You call that being homeless? I live in a shithole room but I’m not complaining, I’m just gonna work better lol. We have nothing to complain about. >>1198578>Why should a 12 year old get a WAJONG? Remind me?You seem to misunderstand, the people who had WAJONG a decade ago, were allowed to keep it. If you now would technically meet the criteria for WAJONG in the past, because you reached the correct age and you're genuinely disabled, you're not going to get it. Same thing with if you become disabled now vs a decade ago. Do you understand it better now? This is how you get a discrepancy with a generation which has been screwed over with studiefinanciering, didn't get access to disability welfare etc. Meanwhile the previous generations were extremely privileged and just expect zoomers to get on their level, without any of the help they got. They want from one extreme to the other, don't you understand how that's bad?
>our government encourage people with disabilities to learn to work at their pace and/or have a daytime activitiesThey don't really, you stay stuck at bijstandsniveau, which you can barely live off of. They also penalize you for trying to study and get a better job, because you lose access to a lot of services the moment you're a student.
>But they need guidance and there’s plenty of organization that provide them to get the adequate guidance.Lol you're living in a fairy tale. You just get training for how to do an interview or put you at a job way below your level or which isn't even a good idea for the kind of disability someone has. There's still no incentive to work, because let's say you get WAJONG because you were one of the lucky bastards who got it before they got rid of it. Then you get a job and you finally earn more than bijstandsniveau, they take away from your disability welfare. So why would you work, when you're doing stuff, but stay at the same level economically and cannot climb out of poverty? They also look at your postcode and take your disability into account, so will only pay you a bare minimum wage since they know they can get away with that. It doesn't work like basic income.
>You can even get begeleid wonen/accommodated living and get a free living space when you’re mentally ill lmfao.Technically yes, but there hasn't been space for that in over a decade. You're living in the past.
>in my mighty opinion, the Netherlands is doing a fine job at itIf you look at how wealthy the government is, they could've done much and much better and you really don't need to lick their boots so much. They have enough money for the royals, who keep buying houses in Amsterdam to drive the price up. They have enough money to give themselves all a pay raise. Yet they only do bezuinigen, bezuinigen, bezuinigen on the shit that actually matters. They have no problem raising taxes on something, but when parliament approved lowering taxes on fruits and vegetables to encourage healthy eating and making things easier for poor people, they say it's going to take the IT systems years to implement that. Lol yeah, right, bullshit excuses.

Oh are we back in 2014 again, starting about no-go-zones? Have you ever actually visited Sweden? As if the Netherlands doesn't have ridiculously dangerous areas itself. Your rape won't even be acknowledged as rape in the Netherlands, because the legal definition of rape is retarded. Police will take pictures of you and share them with their colleagues and use them as porn. Any police officer who complains about this ends up getting fired. Again, they practically got rid of sociale advocatuur, hope you never need to go to the huurcommissie, hope you never have to go into bezwaar and end up at the bestuursrechter, you probably don't even know about the grondenfuik you poor soul. This is literally why students studying law at university get extra lectures in critical thinking and how to be critical of the government, because for some reason if you're born and raised here you automatically become too retarded to be critical of the government. We have great labor laws generally, but when it comes to people being screwed over for years by working in close contact with asbestos etc. or the women who worked at DuPont chemical factories becoming infertile and the people living around the factory being affected? Hah, have fun with lifelong health problems, the judge not taking you seriously and the people around the factory not being able to grow anything in their gardens safely. Meanwhile the company gets all the protections it wants. Let's not even talk about what we've let Shell get away with. Also if you want to talk about history, oh boy, you really think there's been any consistency? It's a constant back and forth. Lesbians and gay men had more freedom before they centralized the Netherlands and the legal system. You even had lesbian couples who managed to get married (see vrouwen in mannenkleren by Rudolf Dekker)! If one city was fucked up, you could go to the next one. Most of the time the punishment was banishment from the city anyway. Gay people weren't heavily prosecuted till the 1730's, then it was legal for a while again from 1811 to 1911, when they made it partially illegal again. Don't forget how the Netherlands happily cooperated with the nazi's during WWII and only afterwards everyone claimed to be a verzetsstrijder. Don't forget that a lot of laws which the nazi's implemented back then are still on the books, to discriminate against Roma, but now screw over people who want alternative housing forms due to the housing crisis we all know about. Don't now start about how it serves them right and you hate the Roma so much, because it's really cutting your nose off to spite your face. We need solutions for the housing crisis and we need them fast.

>>1198851Prenup just means prenuptial agreement, you can agree to all sorts of shit. Sometimes it's in the woman's favor, sometimes it isn't. Depends on what you put in there and what the standard marriage agreement is automatically. There are a lot of things you can put in there, so you won't have to argue about it in the case of divorce. As an example in my country they changed the marital property laws a couple years ago. It used to be that if you got married you would automatically be married in general community of property, but now it's only limited community of property. Which changes all sorts of things, including how gifts to a married couple are handled, pension rights etc. So in that case you might want a prenup so you get complete access to a man's assets, in the case that you earn less or are planning on having children and working less in the future. A lot of people think that a prenup automatically means a complete exclusion of community of property, which is only one of the many options. Also many notaries don't cooperate anymore when men try to force women into those kinds of prenups, many judges won't uphold it either, because they don't trust the man's intentions.

>What makes you think life is worth livingI don't particularly think life is worth living most days. Most days I don't think about that, I just try to have a good day.
>what cheers you up when you feel downVarious things, little things, sometimes they help and sometimes they don't, I just ride out the sadness really in that case. When I'm really losing it, I try to think about fun things I haven't gotten to do.
Overall, I think very few people have lasting passions and purpose that motivate and propel them through life. From my observation, I think content people have good support system and many many small achievable desires.

>>1199259I'm sorry you're having a rough time
nonny. I'm pretty happy these days but that wasn't the case for a long while. I had to work at it a lot. In my opinion many people have a misconception that happiness is something which is just bestowed on some where others get the short end of the stick and will never enjoy it, but that's not true. The reality is how we respond to our thoughts and perceptions determines how we feel. Of course, if you're in a very dangerous/stressful/hurtful environment that makes things much harder, but if you have a base level of security it's possible to take control of your thoughts so you feel content more often.
I don't think the activities or things people enjoy matter much. Which might sound weird, but I say that because when I wasn't in a good place mentally I suffered from anhedonia (inability to feel pleasure) so the same things that contribute to my happiness now didn't make me feel anything back then. I had to develop a foundation of self worth so that I felt like I was even "allowed" to be happy, and from there I focused on things like mindfulness (being in the present moment and appreciating little things, not fixating on the past or future), exercise (can be as effective as antidepressants) and pursuing goals that were meaningful to me (but trying to appreciate the journey and not just the destination).

Bought a diva cup a few years ago, hated them because it was way too big. Then bought a pixie cup in the smallest size and I'm convinced. Way better for the environment, no smell, easy clean-up once you get the hang of it– I just take it out every 12 hours or 4 if heavy flow, rinse it off in the sink (yes, even in public), pop it back in. Bit of a learning curve though if you're squeamish of insertion, hate touching your vagina, or ashamed of your bodily fluids.

How do you stop behaving for other people's feelings? I'm horribly socially incompetent, my only tactic is to try and say whatever boring thing that people expect, but it never lands right because I'm nervous and faking. I have no interest to be there and can't even convincingly play the part. But I can't turn off the switch that tells me to do this, because I don't want others to notice something about me or to feel bad about themselves if I miss a cue. I don't want them to judge me but I know the irony is they can probably tell I am faking, that my words are empty. I've had social phobia as far as I can remember but since I can't learn social skills, I'd rather be authentic and make people uncomfortable so I don't have to do this any longer. For some reason though I can't do that, maybe there is no authentic me or maybe it's too strong an urge inside to care about their feelings. How do I stop?
Maybe I'm asking the wrong thing. The heart of it is that my brain blanks in the presence of others so I have no thoughts to draw from, nothing to say. If there's any hope how do I fix this? If there's no hope see question 1.

Is it narcissistic if I don't want to be the friend chasing and pleasing others?

Also friends can see redflags that you don't always notice in your partner, because you're blinded by love and lust. This is why
abusive scrotes try to cut you off from your friends. I sometimes wonder if these nonas having their nigel as their one and only friend aren't actually in
toxic relationships, on top of being probably mentally ill and/or autistic.
I also sometimes some of the most extrele misandry here is not explained by an actual hatred for males, but from having high, romanced, almost fairy-tale like expectations of them, and being bitter when they turn out to be scrotey. If you center your life around a scrote, you're in for disappointment.
A male partner, no matter how supportive they are, will never replace close women friendships. There is simply topics that you can't discuss the same way with your partner that you can with a benevolent woman.

Actual commoner/working clothes from centuries ago are very very rare because the fabric would get repurposed into other things once they wore out. For real life examples you can also go onto Etsy or Google’s shopping page and search “Renaissance peasant dress” while filtering to only see things that cost at least one or two hundred dollars. This cuts out all the cheap Chinese costumes and you’re left with passionate small-scale seamstresses who are much more likely to have high standards when it comes to historical accuracy (picrel). But you’d still need to do your own reading to corroborate that it’s 100% accurate.

I know ASOS and H&M have done collections specifically aimed at Muslim women and their standards of modesty require arm-coverage. an excerpt from Judith Butler's Gender Troublr
>The sex which is not one, then, provides a point of departure for a criticism of hegemonic Western representation and of the metaphysics of substance that structures the very notion of the subject. What is the metaphysics of substance, and how does it inform thinking about the categories of sex? In the first instance, humanist conceptions of the subject tend to assume a substantive person who is the bearer of various essential and nonessential attributes. A humanist feminist position might understand gender as an attribute of a person who is characterized essentially as a pregendered substance or “core,” called the person, denoting a universal capacity for reason, moral deliberation, or language. The universal conception of the person, however, is displaced as a point of departure for a social theory of gender by those historical and anthropological positions that understand gender as a relation among socially constituted subjects in specifiable contexts. This relational or contextual point of view suggests that what the person “is,” and, indeed, what gender “is,” is always relative to the constructed relations in which it is determined. As a shifting and contextual phenomenon, gender does not denote a substantive being, but a relative point of convergence among culturally and historically specific sets of relations.

I’m really short (154 cm) with a small frame and was never more than 100 lbs, albeit still very skinny fat, until I was put on antipsychotics.
I’d wanna go back to around 90lbs but I’m not sure if that’s too low or if it’s okay for my frame?

>>1212735What is the point of saging in /ot/ or /m/ or /g/. It just makes boards look dead as shit. Annoying when someone say something and you only see it days later when you suddenly decide to check a thread. Don’t you guys complain about not getting replies? Bumping encourages interaction.
Whereas on drama boards bumping causes confusion and redundancy when you want access to actual milk.

Excuse the shit tier pic but would a stomach tattoo like hers look nice on a less toned stomach? I have some ideas already but I want the placement to be subtle enough that I can cover up in any job where it matters and I really love this placement, I'm just not sure if it would look good on a flabbier stomach kek. I'm skinny (normal BMI, right in the middle of a healthy weight) but not stick thin or athletic looking.

>>1213128Thanks nonna! I haven't found an artist yet so it's in the distant future, I'll try drawing something with eyeliner to see how it looks before I regret it kek.
>>1213108Facts. I usually sage when responding, just a habit but it really does make the place look dead.

>>1213108I sage because I don't think my opinions and posts are so important or good that everyone has to immediately see them. Usually they're actually pretty dumb.
>>1213163You could also get one of those temporary sticky tattoos you can put on your stomach with water

We're currently having a problem with vermin here where I live. I've set some makeshift traps that would technically trap them inside a coke bottle. But I am struggling to think of a more humane way of disposing them (unfortunately, releasing them is not an option. I would love to live near a forest or a nice park and have a car to do it, but alas).
Spoiler for animal death talk
I am planning on buying a CO2 tank or spray (idek how you buy such things), but in the mean time, what should I do? Should I just close the bottle lid? Drowning them? I believe I wouldn't be able to kill them from a heavy blow with them being inside the bottle.
I am stumped. Anything is welcomed, I really don't want them to suffer, I want the quickest option for the little guys.

>>1213219I don't even know if there's such service here where in my country. But this would be a really interesting alternative, I've seen videos of these dogs before and they are way more efficient than cats (or at least my cat when she was younger, she would just play with them until she got bored
and then finally ate them)

>>1213253>>1213246Thanks, anons. It sucks, but I guess it is what it is. Meanwhile I'll see if there's any of those classic mouse traps laying around (it's not the first time we deal with them and it's actually an endemic problem here in my city. Latam big cities are usually like that.)
