This was it. The case had long since come to a close. As predicted, the books were thrown every which way at Luigi Mangione. Guilty of murder, guilty of terrorism, federal crime… Death penalty.
Usually it took YEARS for a date to be set for execution. But Luigi actually scared the powers that be, and they controlled justice in America. Just a month after conviction, he was set to die from lethal injection.
They didn't care about protests or riots, they wanted to make a statement, they wanted their enemy dead.
Unaware of the litany of excessive violence in the outside world, Luigi sits defeated on his bed, staring at the ground as he contemplates his fate. It's today. It all comes to an end, and he can't help but feel despite all his effort, he did nothing. It eats him alive. But what can he do?
He jumps when his prison cell opens, and a big prison guard comes in.
"Mr. Mangione, come with me" His gruff voice calls like the grim reaper
Luigi gets up and looks around. His brow furrows.
"Just you? I'm so used to there being a massive convoy around me."
"Do you see any press here?" He asks, then walks in to grab his arm "Come on, lets go."
Luigi's stomach drops. He wanted to die with dignity, so he fasted and dehydrated himself. He walks down the halls. There's a somber silence in the air. He feels a mix of emotions, but also oddly numb.
Luigi could have never expected what he saw in the execution room.
Cops, bodyguards, armed men, all scattered on the floor. He couldn't tell whether they were dead or unconscious. He looks at the guard who took him, completely baffled.
"What the—-" Luigi stops mid sentence as the burly man starts rapidly spinning. Things get weirder and weirder as he spins in a circle faster and faster.
The disguise breaks, and there stands his savior in a skin tight, bejeweled catsuit.
"No! It… It can't be! It's…. It's…" His savior interrupts him
"It's Britney, bitch. Come on bad boy, let's blow this joint." Britney Spears takes Luigi by the hand, she closes her eyes and her body starts glowing along with his. She uses her God given star powers to teleport the both of them out of the maximum security prison.
They defeated the paparazzi, they defeated conservatorship, they defeated the CEO's.
Now the two superhumans would take on the world.
