I'm a borderline normie looking for answers.

Oh, I forgot to ask:

>Do you wear asian makeup {super dolly eyes, eye bags}?

I think it looks retarded on most of us white girls, or non-asians in general.
Even some asians look bad tbh.

>Why are you a weeb?
my interest in weebshit started when i was 11 and i've been hooked ever since
>Do you feel embarrassed by it?
you spelled embarrassed wrong, you're welcome
and no, i do not see why i should feel embarrassed by it
>Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes?
who doesn't feel disgusting and retarded sometimes? my disgust does not derive from my interest in weebshit (to clarify)
>If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?
i've only cosplayed at cons, public cosplaying is cringe. i do it because i enjoy the art, fashion, and creativity that goes into it.
>Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?
yes
>Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?
i like to pretend i'm a cute idol girl and i learn idol dances for my own personal satisfaction
>Do you wear asian makeup?
i love asian skincare and makeup, it's the best (nk is makeup capital of the world) i don't do the really weeby makeup i go for a more subtle/minimalist approach overall

Hmm, maybe because being a weeb is something most people see as childish and/or cringe worthy? Some are seen as obnoxious and obsessive.
Weebs are, in general, disgusting.

But thanks for fixing the typo.

What's the definition of weeaboo? Do you just have to watch anime or do you have to be crazy into all jap culture and act all kawaii sugoi uguu~ and shit?

No. 1021

I started watching anime in college, and I regularly go on /a/ now. My late start makes me a total casual, I guess.

Yes, it's not something I'd want to define myself by.
And jfashion is just plain cringey to me. I hate the circle lenses, and I don't like the general infantilized look of lolita, with few exceptions.

>Why are you a weeb?

I used to watch old school anime casually. Later, a friend who taught me how to draw dragged me into the weeb realms

>Do you feel embarrassed by it?

Only my family and really close friends knows my powerlevel.

>Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes?

A little remorse when I feel I'm spending too much money on weeby crap

>If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?

I wanted to get into lolita when I was younger, now that I have some disposable income I'm afraid I'm too old for it. I ocassionally wear toned down cute stuff.

>Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?

yes, 0 social skills

>Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?

Aside carrying my lunch in a bento box,no.

>Do you wear asian makeup?

Just makeup, I'm not fond of circle lenses

No. 1029

> Why are you a weeb?
I like anime, manga, jfashion, japanese food and learning japanese as well as the weeb online culture as a whole.
> Do you feel embarassed by it?
enough that I keep it separate from my work life or people I meet. I feel a bit old for the scene, but it's not that abnormal anymore and I'm not hurting anyone or running around Wallmart in a bikini cosplay. A hobby is a hobby, it's not like sports fanatics or train spotters are cool either.
> Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes? {you probably should}
hey fuck you buddy, see above
> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?
I can afford it better than I could as a kid. I can now travel to Japan, drink at cons and buy dumb stuff, being an adult is great. I stay away from groups of young weebs though.
> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?
My social skills are pretty well adjusted for an image board user, like most jfashion girls I have an aging complex though but I'm working on it.
> Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?
I guess if I hear Japanese people talking in a supermarket I wish I could practice Japanese with them, but I wouldn't actually do it. I'll say dumb shit like itadakimasu in my head and spend too much on japanese brand clothes.
> Asian makeup trends?
Occasionally circle lenses but I can't pull that stuff off.

No. 1030

> Why are you a weeb?
I like cute things, pretty art and nice animation.
> Do you feel embarassed by it?
No, not really. I don't care what others think of my hobbies because I'm never obnoxious about it, I just do my own thing.
> Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes? {you probably should}
Lol no
> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?
Fun things are fun.
> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?
I have avoidant personality disorder, so I'm pretty shy/anxious.
> Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?
Yeah, I like to dress in nanchatte seifuku. I've also watched too much anime and now I hear stock anime phrases in my head. Like I imagine high-pitched voice going "Yokatta" when I'm relieved, or "Nande" when I don't know what to do.
>Do you wear asian makeup {super dolly eyes, eye bags}?
Kinda, but I'm shit at applying false eyelashes so I gave up on that. I like circle lenses, though.

>why are you a weeb
Well, I get free shit and get paid for being a weeb. Why not? Also, I was just interested when I was younger, and that kinda influenced who I surrounded myself with
>Do you feel embarrassed by it
Most of the time, yeah. But then I have an image to uphold, so I have to get over it.
>Do you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes?
Yeah. But then I remember most fashion and popular interests are fucking retarded as well so might as well do what I want
>if you're in your 20's….
I'm not 20 yet, but close. I get paid for it like I mentioned, so not really (yet)
>Stereotype?
I don't think so? I'm not that loud but I'm not that why either. I make as much of an effort as an ordinary introvert, but people probably think I'm retarded anyway
>Do you secretly think weeby things?
I do wish I could learn Japanese, and I kinda hope for a large Japanese fanbase to make other weebs jealous lol
>do you do Asian makeup
I'm actually eurasian so Asian makeup works for my eyes. Well, I think so anyway. I do use circle lenses and I prefer a more natural look over thick eyeliner

i watch a bit of anime here and there, i used to watch it all the time instead of american tv shows/when i didnt have money for games so i still know some stuff and are interested in it, so yeah i guess i'm embarrassed when i talk about it to family members. i dont tell normies though so i don't get embarrassed in public.
> Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes?
not at all, unless i watched degenerate fan service shit. some stories are genuinely interesting to me (like steins; gate for example) and could translate well into an irl western show because of the plot.

> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?

still 18, feels nice. i don't feel like an adult so i don't feel guilty for indulging in things teenage girls can.
> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype
i'm awfully shy, but that started because of trama before i watched anime. i lack social skills as well but if i am comfortable with someone i am a great communicator.
> Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?
i cosplay? but that's about it. i own two figures which is pretty weeby but they were gifts. I would only order one or two figures myself of my all time favorite characters
>Do you wear asian makeup?
I use circle lenses for cosplay, but sclera lenses actually look decent on anyone on a normal day (like the ones ig models use to have blue eyes when they have boring brown eyes)

Meh, I just watch anime for free and I'm too poor to cosplay. I know some Japanese but wouldn't exactly call myself a weeaboo.

No. 2056

I'm not sure. I have always been interested in many other cultures, Japan has just happened to put out a lot of quality manga, anime and games with great storytelling. Sometimes I get embarrassed because I have tattoos of things from Japanese games that I like a lot, and at times having discussions about said games in response to the tattoos is extremely awkward for me. I'm in the latter end of the 20s and I dress like a little girl more often than not and I'm with someone who is generally ok with all of this but he has kids my age (they're estranged along with the delusional mother) and sometimes I wonder what they would think of me if they even so much as saw me. I think there's something wrong with me.

No, I don't consider myself a weeb. As I said, I'm pretty normal.
> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?
I'm 20 and I have some classic lolita clothes. Hate sweet lolita and the new ita-weebish designs. So I think I'll stick to classic and never try other styles. I like classic lolita clothes, they don't scream 'weeb' and I don't wear any childish prints. I wear it because the dresses are pretty.
I don't cosplay, I don't time for that. But I'd cosplay some characters.

> Why are you a weeb?
Sailor Moon had pretty transformations and DBZ had cool fight scenes with hot guys. Mom also watched some anime with me as well and even rented things for me she randomly picked out at the video rental place. That's how I ended up watching Tenchi, Cutie Honey, Slayers, and sanrio movies. She encouraged my drawing as far back as I remember buying me tracing paper, pencils, map colors etc. and I would go from tracing Disney and Lisa Frank in elementary school, to making my OCs in junior high. She'd listen to the stories I'd come up with for them. My mom is to blame lol but she's awesome.
> Do you feel embarassed by it?
Not exactly. Anime is pretty mainstream and people these days don't mind that you're into it as long as you're not socially retarded about it. I don't openly talk about it with people unless they've shown that they have an interest as well. Even then, I keep what I know toned down. That is until they start giving off hints that they are weeks themselves and I turn into a playful shit-talker.
> Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes? {you probably should}
Only for some of the fetishes I've developed but no. I do cringe on my old drawings and how I acted as a teen, but I think everyone has.
> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?
I don't anymore but only because I lacked time for it. Now I do have time and would like to get back into cisplay but for older characters.
> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?

It's a very self indulgent hobby with a lot of variety. I can watch anime, read manga, travel, study the language, wear the fashion, listen to jpop etc, and all of that stuff is combined into one overarching interest.
> Do you feel embarassed by it?
Some parts of it (obviously I won't admit to fapping to doujins), but not really. I look and act normal, watching chinese cartoons doesn't change that.
> Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes? {you probably should}
No, I'm not either of those things.
> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?
I don't cosplay or wear lolita, just general, toned down Jfash, but I'd feel frumpy and boring if I wore regular clothes.
> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?
Shy and awkward
> Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?
Well I'm pretty invested in my hobby and do extra weeby things all the time by most people's standards. The worst of it is my lack of motivation to get a boyfriend because I find 2D to be easily sufficient for my emotional and sexual satisfaction.
>Do you wear asian makeup {super dolly eyes, eye bags}?
Neither of those things, but I do wear Korean makeup because it suits my skintone and I much prefer their natural look over the heavy stuff popular in the west.

I watch anime regularly, follow jfashion trends (but I don't really wear it), buy cute shit, go to conventions.
> Do you feel embarassed by it?
I used to. I hid it for a couple of years but realized that life is too short to hide my hobbies and enjoyment. While I don't announce it right away like "HELLO I LOVE ANIME WHAT IS YOUR NAME??" I'll mention a show or a reference or something if it is relevant in conversation (e.g. while listing favourite films or shows I'll add anime)
> Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes? {you probably should}
Nah. I'm firmly passed the embarassing aspect of it where now I can say I'm just a fan/hobbyist and my collecting figures is no different than people who collect funkos or sports memorabilia.
> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?
I only really dress jfashion-y at cons where it's less weird but that's mainly because I don't have the confidence to wear it out in everyday life. But I don't even have crazy pieces, most of it is Liz Lisa which is pretty normie, but I still feel like shorts with flowers and a fancy top just attract too many stares. It's not so much that it's jfash but more that it's a fashion that isn't very common where I live so whenever I wear it I get lots of comments/stares and I don't like being that much in focus, lol.
> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?
Used to be the classic weeb teen with screeching, glomping, etc. Now people are genuinely surprised when I tell them. I'm very normal by normie standards.
> Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?
More than a weeb I probably identify most as a fujo so I actively follow Japanese shipping circles for merch of my flavour of the month OTP and I have a tumblr exclusively for reblogging/saving fanart and stuff.

No, mostly because I look idiotic with it. I already have large eyes so doing any sort of exaggeration with it makes me go into uncanny valley territory.

Eh yeah but I already consider myself a piece of trash so whatever.

I still cosplay sometimes. Making costumes is really fun. Plus, seeing people get excited and happy when I dress as their favorite character makes me smile. No, I don't. I'm fine with liking childish things.

> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?

I'm not shy or loud, and I think I socialize well enough. Besides liking anime/manga I'm pretty normal and my appearance would make you think I'm not into those sorts of things.

> Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?

Yeah. I mean, it's not really secret though. Like I said, the older I get the less shame I feel. If someone thinks I'm cringy for having my fave character as my wallpaper or cosplaying as them then that's their opinion, which is fine to have. Got into anime when I was in elementary school. My cousins use to bring in movies like Akira, Ninja Scroll, etc and I loved them.

> Do you feel embarrassed by it?

I use to feel embarrassed by it because of the animosity, but now I don't give a fuck because it's less stressful to be who I am than to put on a facade.

> Don't you feel retarded and disgusting sometimes? {you probably should}

Nope, and it's funny because I never knew weebs were known in the general public as these autistic, lonely, greasy, unhygienic, pocky eating losers. I'm very hygienic, probably even a germophobe I take multiple showers a day.

> If you're in your 20s and still cosplay/is a lolita/etc, why do you do that? Don't you feel like a wo/manchild?

I've never cosplayed in my life and will never get into it, but however I have friends who do. They enjoy it as a hobby and respects the culture, they probably do it because they consider it fun. It's funny that the most interesting people I've ever met are under the term of "wo/manchild", especially from millennials and Gen Z because they're known to be the generation that has trouble thinking of what they're interested in and their hobbies.

> Are you, at least partially, the weeaboo stereotype {lacking social skills, too shy, or even way too loud, etc}?

I use to be when I was younger (I lacked social skills and I was too shy), but as I grew up and became more socially aware, I realized that I prefer to be alone.

> Do you secretly do/think extra weeby things?

Only when I was younger, I use to:

>reenact my anime favorite scenes secretly

>listened to Jpop and Jrock (Aqua Timez, Gackt, Uverworld, and the pillows)
>drew a fancomic of every anime I loved, my parents were angry at the fact that I was filling up marble notebooks with crappy art.
>quoting Dragonball Z and Naruto techinques when I use to roughhouse/play fight like a autist
