Apologies for any mistakes in spelling, as English is not my first language. I'm worldbuilding a planet like Earth, but the only real difference is that women are vastly more numerous than men, and I'm thinking over how civilisation in that kind of world would work - all the pros and all the cons. So, I'm making a thread to throw around some ideas on what an actual matriarchal humanity would look like. I'm going to post more tomorrow after I've slept, but wanted to get the thread started. Pic related is an anon who inspired me.(belongs on 2x)

I'm the one posted that and Its a topic and Its something I think about a lot
Its very clear that a matriarchal society wouldn't just be the patriarchy with the roles reversed cause that's physically not possible, even if women out number men, In fact I'd wager for an Ideal matriarchal society males should be the one's who out number one women

we have only small isolated tribal examples of so called matriarchal societies and the one constant in between all those cultures is that all able bodied men spend most of their time working, hunting and in previous eras fighting for the survival of the community while women take care of leadership and other matters, the question is how would that work on a advanced civilizational level ?

There’s a movie where a virus kills all the men on earth and women have to remake society, but I forgot what it was called. Do any anons know? Google hasn’t helped. It only shows me these two more popular movies where a virus kills all women (of course.)

No, sorry. From what I recall, not a single man was left alive.

It's Y the last man. Man wrote it. I've yet to see any decent fiction about a matriarchy written by a woman.

It's great that you saw my post! The setting that I'm discussing has a birth difference of one man per ten women, but we can discuss some more of your ideas if you like

Do you think that certain people would end up hording all the men for power reasons and there would end up being wars or something

I read the comic and it fucking sucked, there were really some good concepts, like women wouldn't just abandon their ideologies or religion for that matter
so conservative christians started hoarding their Guns and believed a holy war was coming, the Israel and Palestine situation was still going on and nations around the world were either forming or being dissolved but there wasn't any focus on the interesting stuff, instead we got protagonists and antagonists that acted like literal morons, some dumb radical feminist group called the Amazons who wanted to erase all traces of men from the earth(they were really fucking cringy)

and I think the worst detail the writer put in which really just ruined any potential in the series was the fact that he included that not just all men died, but every single male organism in the world which is just more or less the end of the entire world

well there is only only example I can think of a society of women out numbering men which was pre-Islamic Arabic, according the Hadiths women outnumbered men 4:1 in that era and there was a high death rate for males in tribal wars, that led to a unique culture circumstance where on a fairly expansive societal level most men had more then one wife, which was unheard anywhere else cause while emperors and kings had consorts and mistresses, a lot level Arabian trader could have 3 wives without much effort

however this is all based on the Hadiths, a series of incredibly biased Islamic texts written centuries after the pre-Islamic era, so that all could be bullshit as well

Nope. I found it. It’s Creamerie! But it’s a show, not a movie. My bad.

Either it wouldn't be a matriarchal setting, more a dystopia
