The "Only One Solution" movement is fascinating, especially if you are/were vegan or have even a vague awareness of vegan ethics. They perfectly embody the absurdity of veganism when taken to its most logical conclusion - they believe that the only vegan world is no world at all.

They unironically advocate for global destruction and the eradication of all life as a "cure" for suffering.Their propaganda is so convincing that I'm shocked it hasn't gotten more press. Even in vegan circles I rarely, if ever, hear their movement referenced despite the staggering amount of unique content on the site.

The movement is a mega blackpill. Enjoy.

Every once in a while for the last couple of years or so I'll dive into stuff relating to superfund sites, toxic chemicals and chemical disasters, I also find coal kinda interesting too. Centralia, PA is a cool thing to google, fun fact its part of what inspired Silent Hill. I'm constantly searching for new docs and articles about toxic chemicals affecting people and the environment.

Image attached is Love Canal, which is like the OG superfund site and is basically the inspiration for all the stereotypical toxic sludge wasteland depictions you see today. This company used the land as a dumping site, and the land eventually got bought for $1 for the purpose of building homes, knowing what was buried there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Canal

If you wanna do more research the EPAs superfind site search is a fun place to start: https://www.epa.gov/superfund/search-superfund-sites-where-you-live

I do this as well. It started out years ago when I watched the Hills Have Eyes remake and I became interested in former nuclear sites. This lead me to the Kyshtym disaster in Russia. From there I branched out from environmental disasters caused by radiation to other types of toxic waste. Reading how people have been made ill, born disabled and had their lives cut short is disturbing but it's also very interesting. At least in the US something positive came from Love Canal in that it was the start of the Superfund sites. There are places all over the world that are still contaminated from what happened decades ago and it's only going to get worse in places like India and China. I still watch videos on youtube about abandoned mines and look up places on google maps.

Sorry, didn't meant to sound so cryptic. The school board bought it for $1, built schools on it and then sold more of the land for profit later to a company that build houses on it (and promised not to build underground but did anyway). i dont think that's exactly what they were getting at. they're right imo but it's dumb to actually want to destroy the world and waste time trying to work toward it. they were saying that it's impossible to actually live vegan, like, medicines aren't vegan, etc. they also said that nature itself is inherently suffering and that nature is fraught with disease, predation, it's just massive suffering for all animals (which is true), so they want that suffering to end, too. i understand what they're getting at, but to actually work toward destruction is stupid as shit. a lot of environmentalists think nature is beautiful, especially since we have the privilege of being able to observe nature without being part of it, but it's frightening as fuck and absolutely horrific.

My current rabbit hole: I sometimes watch satisfying videos on Instagram and my explore feed thus is full of slime and kinetic sand videos, but also mukbang. I usually dislike mukbang videos, especially since they all have started to become more extreme with people eating moving octopus etc. What’s even weirder: I found a very active "chalkeating" community with people eating chalk or huge cornstarch containers. 50% of them seem to be Russian, the rest is middle-aged black women. NTAYRT. ASMR encompasses a lot of interests. Some of it is sexual, IIRC the early ASMR videos on youtube were of Japanese ear cleaning and sex roleplays. Most of it isn't sexual, I highly doubt that anyone is getting off to binaural thunderstorm recordings or birdsong. ASMR is just a medium, in the same way that film is. There's films for children and there's pornographic films. You don't call the entire medium of film a sexual fetish just because some people choose to use it that way.

Source? I've been watching asmr videos since 2012 and I don't remember japanese sex roleplays.

Does anyone in this thread even know what asmr is? It is a feeling that not everyone experiences. It is non sexual and a soothing feeling in the back of your skull and spine. Normal everyday sounds can trigger it. The videos are just for triggering the feeling. I've experienced that feeling since I was a child (long before the asmr video community existed) and I know the difference between that and sexual arousal, just like I know the difference between hunger and sexual desire. People who don't experience it think the videos are fetishy, and some people do use them for that, but asmr (the feeling) itself is not sexual.

I think it's pretty strange that they didn't retrieve the bodies, but I don't think it's a conspiracy. The ship had a bad design in the first place. I like her vids too but they don't give me ASMR. It's relaxing but no tingles whatsoever.

On a related note, I hate overly done asmr vids. It stops being ASMR and turns into a cosplay with whispering. I have doubts that some people actually get tingles from that, Gibi ASMR is one example or Isabel Imagination is another. There are way more asmrtists than there used to be few years ago but there are still only a few asmrtists that are worth following.

No. 404115

I get tingles easily so her videos are great for me. I like variety because after a while I get used to a familiar voice and they don't really relax me as much as they used to.

In that regard it's really nice to have more ASMRtists but many of the new ones half ass everything, are overtly sexual with creepy men in the comments proclaiming their love, just… whisper really loudly and think that makes it ASMR, or do fetishy BF/GF/nurse roleplays.
I like some of the weird ones that are very clearly nonsexual and are meant for girls. Old ASMRtists are still the best, WhispersRed is my favourite.

ASMR sperging deserves a containment thread. ASMR is way too popular to be a weird rabbit hole, I mean it even has its own celebrities and stuff.

I went down the Mandela effect rabbithole a couple of months ago and it’s def strange as hell as far as communities go. Every once in a while I go down a different cult/religious rabbit hole. I’ve read/watched a lot of stuff on Scientology, Jonestown, David Koresh, Mormonism (especially FLDS and assorted extremists), spiritualists in the 1800s, Amy Semple-McPherson and the rise of evangelicalism, father Yod and the Manson family and the Process Church. Somehow religious and cult related topics just hold a ton of interest to me.

The community is full of 9 to 12 year olds and they have some petty middle school drama every week. it's made worse because since it's on the internet so art tweens world wide can dogpile on random artists without a teacher or principal punishing them. The only sane people in the community are teens or adults, like only 1 or 2 in this part of the community, who have to make hour long videos calling everyone out for dogpiling.

The worst I've seen so far was when some kid, I think 11~ish, accidentally doxxed themselves and their mom started asking about the doxx during a live stream.

It never caught on, but I also learned that apparently there is a language called Lojban that is supposed to be logically constructed so that sentences are logical and have no ambiguity. The language just borrows words from European languages, it's the structure of the language that's logical. It honestly sounds weird as fuck. Here is a video of it being spoken.

My latest rabbit hole was going through everything my favorite author posted online. In summary the dude is really bad at organizing his work. He owns multiple websites for some reason, each of his webcomics gets a site, a site for general stuff with a blog on it thats hard to access, he owns a random flash site, and an even older blog.
Every few months I get obsessed and google his name all over again and somehow I stumble upon a new part of his site or find a new site entirely. Right now I found an entirely new webcomic I didn't even know he published. The webcomic has never been mentioned on his other sites or in any interviews, but yet he still pays the monthly fee to keep it up.
After further research he mentions the comic on his site, but you can't aces it normally? It isn't linked any where on his site, but it's hosted on the site. so the only way is to google it or get linked to it form the old site. The way everything on his site is set up just makes me want to google him again because every time I do I find something new. It's kind of stalker-y, I've gone through his old live journals listened to every interview, so I've never told any of my friend

My latest rabbit hole: targeted individuals/gang stalking

"Electronic harassment, electromagnetic torture or psychotronic torture is a conspiracy theory that government agents make use of electromagnetic radiation (such as the microwave auditory effect), radar, and surveillance techniques to transmit sounds and thoughts into people's heads, affect people's bodies, and harass people. Individuals who claim to experience this call themselves "targeted individuals" who are victims of gang stalking and many have joined support and advocacy groups. "

I read the blog (in French) of a man who was convinced that he was stalked by the governement through his family, through media, it was insane. He presented very seriously what he considers "evidence" but it was sooo far fetched and ridiculous. It's very clear these people have some kind of mental disorder.

I was obsessed with the disappearances of Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers a few months back and lost interest after it seemed that the case was at a dead end. The girls are for certain dead, with their bones being found and positively identified, but what keeps me coming back to the case is that almost nothing is known about how they died - only that one day they were alive, and the next day they were off the grid to never be seen again. I've become reobsessed with it and can't decide whether I believe there was a third party involved with their disappearance/death.

I think why I'm fascinated with this case in particular (a lot of other "mysterious disappearance" cases bore me a bit) is because my grandparents who I often visit own property in the rural Ozark mountains (south/central USA) and I frequently go out hiking there, no civilization and barely any cell phone service. The Wikipedia article really only touches the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the entire mystery.

Watching the videos makes me feel kinda bad for him; the trolls got way too crazy (and cringy themselves) at a point.

On that note, I'm really into looking up 'where are they now?' videos about people who became big online and disappeared or people who are the faces of memes/meme videos. Some of them became big in niche spaces online so it's interesting to me to see how that can spiral just as easily as someone who's more well-known in a mainstream context.

I watched DeadwingDork's video on a creepy fanfic about baby smurf torture on a smurf fansite.the only person back in the day who critisised it was characterised as a troll and cruel for posting pic related but the fic written there was much more cruel itself and it got worse towards the end and NO ONE else commented on it and just enjoyed this fucked up story.even NOW there are a couple of people who still dont think this story is fucked up and SUPPORT it which drives me insane.

anyway i decided to look up a couple of people on the site and the one moderator who keeps commenting positively on the story is some dude in his 50's who has such a weird obssesion with smurfs up to this day.he has written SO MANY fanfics with his smurf OC and really seems to like smurfette.he has also edited the smurf wiki hundreds of times and he seems to be one of those weird religious people too.most of his smurf fanart is on some other level of cursed images too and i freaking wonder how someone who obsseses over something this much for DECADES hasnt improved on their art one bit

i know these people exist but im more used to them being millenials/zoomers and not some boomer guy who has a whole site mostly dedicated to smurfs.it's so weird to see

After reading this post I spent an entire afternoon reading about this case.
I'm sure they didn't die of "natural causes".
>guy who was supposed to be their hiking guide is the last person who saw them, they decided to leave without him (did they get sketchy vibes?), he immediately went looking up for them in their rooms
>same guy is also extremely involved with the researches and is the one who finds their "bodies" too, what a coincidence
>one night, after a week lost, one of the girls decides to take 90 pictures with flash
>one picture was mysteriously deleted, even though there were countless blurry or out of focus pics that were all kept
>the failed attempts at unlocking one girl's phone days after their activity completely stopped
>all those unknown fingerprints on the girls' stuff
>only one foot, one very bleached pelvic bone (only after two months) and some small leg bones were found
>no large predators who could have attacked the girls in the area
>nylon backpack found so distant from the body, on a fucking tree near a farm, completely intact with even the camera and phones still functioning
>evidence contaminated, Panamense police doesn't give a fuck and outright refuses to open a criminal investigation, everything gets swept under the rug because their only concern is how this could affect their tourism
My theory is that the sketchy hiking guide is either directly involved or knows who did it. Some other theories say that the girls could've encountered some hostile cannibal tribe or some cartel member, the latter one would make sense too. But something happened and it wasn't natural.

I was bored and reading about them a few months ago and tbh, I think a lot of stuff got brushed under the rug to keep the tourism industry in Panama going. The same thing happened in Aruba with Natalee Holloway. I have no clue what could have happened to them, as they were wandering around in the forest so they could have started panicking and died from exposure, and animals picked on their bones and perhaps Kris's got bleached by the sun and acids in the soil.

I know someone above me mentioned the cartel, but just knowing how they operate, I have a feeling if they ran into drug runners that they would exploit the girls' to possibly extort money out of their families or make a big show out of holding them hostage because they were Dutch. I doubt we'll ever really know unless someone puts a lot of pressure on Panama to release whatever info they have.

Reminds me of this guy called Orca who seemed very mentally ill and went to fight in Libya and then Syria seemingly just for content for his gun YT channel. He went around telling local insurgents he was a CIA agent come to co-ordinate with them. He would stand out in the open in the middle of firefights as if he didn't realize he was in real danger. I think they deleted his channel for violence since he'd show dead bodies Logan Paul style. Was probably committing war crimes by telling the locals to open up on whatever buildings he wanted for cool footage that had who knows inside them.

ntayrt but I dug a lot into that topic in the finals season (lol)
>animals picked on their bones
The bones they've found were in very good condition, there were no microscopic markings on them. The pathologist said there's no proof the animals scavenged girls' bodies at all, as that would leave markings.

The conclusion of the case was that the girls were "dragged to death by the river", but wouldn't the river, full of rocks etc, destroy the bones more? At least leave some scratches? According to local investigator, in the time of girls disappearing the river was too dry and weak to even carry a body, and we're talking about breaking bodies to pieces almost immediately and dragging them far away. Adding to the ridiculousness of that weak ass theory, their cheap lycra backpack was supposed to be carried by that bodies-breaking river too, but everything inside was clean and neat, the camera and phones working… That's just stupid. Either it's strong enough to break the bodies or so gentle it carried the backpack safely downstream.
The backpack is another mystery on its own, because it was found dry and with electronics working. How is it possible, if it was supposed to be carried there by the river…?

>Kris's bones got bleached by the sun and acids in the soil

The bones contained phosphates; they checked the soil for it and turns out phosphorus doesn't occur in the soil there at all. It is used in chemical bleaching, though, and by the local farmers…

Lisanne's bones still had flesh etc on them, and just after two months Kris' bones were all clean, with no animals' teeth markings - and bleached.

Nothing really makes sense in this case, really.

New rabbit hole because of this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/d8uwzs/was_ukraineborn_natalie_grace_a_9_year_old_child/

The girl is actually supposed to be the correct age and her adoptive parents are fuckers, but there have been many actual cases of people pretending to be younger and going to school/living with adoptive parents and fucking up their lives.

One case includes that of Barbora Skrlová, which the movie the Orphan was based off of. Barbora was a 33-year-old Czech woman who pretended to be a teenaged orphan and was adopted by a single mother with two sons. She made the mother torture her two sons and even made the mother force one of her sons to eat the skin off of his own ass, all for sexual gratification. She escaped persecution for that and was subsequently adopted by another family under the guise of a 13-year-old boy. She was then actually arrested but released in 2012, and no one knows where she is to this day.

Like I said there are quite a few other cases. It's interesting to read about how some of these people grew up (they usually have had extremely terrible upbringings) and what they have been able to get away with.

i thought the theory is that at least one of them fell from a nearby bridge or cliff, since the foot they found showed evidence that the girl it belonged to sustained injuries on her foot likely from falling from a high distance. the reasons for the blurry flash photos was probably because they were trying to use the camera flash to get the attention of any people nearby, or to get some kind of light, or to document their location. no one will ever know.

the folded up pants were probably another way to alert passers by of their location.

>The bones contained phosphates

Point is? Bones contain phosphates anyway.

the fact they decomposed to skeletal remains in the matter of a couple of months is probably due to the climate. panama is known for being hot and humid, no?

the suspicious parts are the backpack, the fact theres no markings on the bones even though they died in a forest presumably full of animals, and the fact that someone had tried to access one of the phones with the wrong pin code.

For me, the guide has something to do with it.
The girls were going to hike with him, then they decided to go alone without telling him, he was the last to see them alive and the one who found their remains too.
This is what people said about him:
>'When von Rönne spurned his romantic advances, she claims, he became “like a panther. He literally jumped on my neck . . . He even tried to lift me up as if to see how much I weighed. It really bothered me because although we had been living there for two months, [yet] I still had so many difficulties with his physical relationship being too close.”
>Asking around Boquete turns up other similar accounts. “[This guide] is not allowed on our property,” says a receptionist at one of the largest hostels in town. “The owner doesn’t let us book tours with him anymore,” the receptionist says, because of his “impertinent” habits with female clients.' https://www.thedailybeast.com/murderous-vacations-serial-killers-stalking-the-panama-highlands

Plus, the fact that they didn't leave anything behind. Kris was a diary keeper, yet they didn't leave any voice message, video, note for their family, nothing. It's like they didn't know they were going to die.

No. 466314

Yeah, pics are not that weird to me. They were probably using the flash to attract attention of the rescue groups, thinking the flash would be more visible at night. I'm only a bit surprised they didn't take any pics between the "happy trip" pics and the night pictures. They were supposedly very close with their families, contacting and uptading them daily, and yet they didn't want to document what happened to them more? After all it's not like they just got lost and died. They survived quite a time in the jungle, at least one of them. Wouldn't she really leave any message? Especially if her friend was already dead? I would imagine at this point she was scared of death enough to make some kind of goodbye video for the family.
Would the Panamanian police - or whoever have found the camera first - remove something incriminating the girls might have recorded? That's plausible for me, idk.

>Point is? Bones contain phosphates anyway.

Well, they were bleached with it. Like, it was on them. Maybe I worded it wonkily

About the falling theory, yes, the foot they've found was broken - it's also interesting that it was found not in the river, but some distance away, on land. I don't really remember if that was near the monkey bridges, supposedly where that one famous picture from down of the ravine was taken. That would support the theory of at least one of them getting injured and them taking pics with flash from down below to signalize where they are stuck. But now, the rest of the bones were found up to like 14 hours distance upstream in the river from that point. Something doesn't add up here. Also, some famous forensic specialist said the same foot injury could be caused by very strenuous long distance walking if you're not in shape.

I don't know, I feel like checking it all out again with mappings but I don't want to fall into that rabbit hole again lol it's ten miles deep

>>466242
>they survived for about 11 days in there. How?
We can survive more than 3 weeks without food. They for sure drank the water from rivers and streams, which made them sick. Not sick enough to shit themselves dead in two days though, because there's a video where one of the men from the rescue team drinks the water directly from a stream. But still, those were foreign germs etc for the girls, I'm sure the water made them sick, which made them weaker and dehydrated so they drank more water… In the end, you die. That would explain for me why they survived this long, but not long enough. If there was no foul play, of course. I wouldn't put that past the guide, everyone said he was a creep to women (there's a theory that's the reason for the girls to go alone, without him - he made them uncomfortable). There's also two dudes that rode with them in the taxi - they knew where the girls where going. AND also two strange men that shared lunch with them that day.

The whole entire situation really does seem very sketchy for "just a hiking accident." While I won't sweep that possibility under the rug, I feel like a lot of questions about the details could be answered if Panamanian authorities would release the information that's missing. If it's not foul play, why and how was a picture from the camera erased via computer deletion and not manual deletion? If the 90 "night pictures" besides the ones already released to the public are nothing but pitch blackness, surrounding terrain, and plants, why haven't all 90 of them been released to be viewed? What's with the selective release of certain pictures if there is truly no evidence of foul play in the remaining unreleased pictures? Some people suggest that full camera roll hasn't been released because may show bodily harm or gore on one of the girls, but already released has been a picture of Kris with what looks like blood on her temple, and pictures of the girls' remains, so I don't buy that excuse. Why have the non-familiar fingerprints detected on the camera and the backpack not been traced back to any identity? Why were some of the bones, either by natural or manmade causes, bleached, while other remains still had intact skin and flesh?

As for large predators, there are actually jaguars in that region, and a jaguar attack was a theory that I'd pondered for a while before the remains were found and it was determined that there hadn't been signs of bites, scratches, or a struggle. Jaguars also rarely attack humans unless they feel the absolute need to, they prefer to avoid humans if at all possible. A lot of locals claimed that jaguars rarely come onto the marked trail that the girls intended to take, but again, the girls went off the trail and weren't supposed to. I strongly rule out the idea that what happened was related to an animal or a creature of some kind. If something big or small wanted to eat them, the girls (one or both) wouldn't continue to live for 11 more days after being attacked by whatever it was.

It was the fact that one girl’s bones contained an amount of phosphates that was highly unusual for that area. Also that one corpses bones were bleached artificially. If the bones were in a dense forest, that rate of bleaching just isn’t possible. It was the level of bleaching that comes from a set of bones baking out in the sun for at least two years. Why only hers?

At first glance when I saw this in thread I was like nah that’s all just tinfoil. But after taking the time to read an extremely thorough website that had all of the info written out chronologically and thoroughly, I now agree that it is strange.

The backpack that was found in the rice paddy was completely dry and so was all of its contents, no sign of being in the forest for several months. They also lifted at least 33 different sets of fingerprints off of it. Cell phone and camera no water damage. Both of their bras were neatly folded inside, also dry. The bras they were wearing in the photos taken that day.

Even if you explain it away as them removing their clothes in disorientation, there’s just far too many other signs of foul play. Panama is also rife with murder, rape, and trafficking. Plenty of locals guard themselves and their own and view tourists as subhuman. Researching crimes in Panama will prove this.

I’m tired of young white women thinking they’re safe to solo travel through these countries it’s honestly mind boggling.

>i thought the theory is that at least one of them fell from a nearby bridge or cliff, since the foot they found showed evidence that the girl it belonged to sustained injuries on her foot likely from falling from a high distance.

I see a lot of people say this in defense of the "hiking accident, no foul play" theory, and while I suspect it to be true that one of them fell from a monkey bridge, they could have been running off of trail and into unfamiliar territory in the first place if they were being chased by someone or a group of people who knew they were out there on that trail at that general time. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that they were on the trail doing normal hiking, began to be pursued, and ran different ways simply to get away from whoever it was that was chasing them. This would explain how they ended up off of the clearly-marked beginner trail in a place with no cell service, as they would have been trying to run for their life, not paying attention or noticing the dwindling phone signal.

Once one of them fell from the monkey bridge and became visibly hurt or disabled, the person or group pursuing them could have intentionally left the scene or lost the trail of the girls, since if one of the girls fell into the water and was pushed away by the stream it would appear as if she had vanished off of the trail to someone who didn't see her fall. If those pursuing the girls decided to flee from the scene, that could explain why they still had access to their phones even if a third party was involved.

If anyone remembers the Reddit user "lifeafterlyme" (or the Nightmare Expo video about her), I think I've found a similar person on Tumblr.
https://my-muse-and-allthe-little-things.tumblr.com/

She's sporadically been writing word salad-esque rants about her family underneath unrelated posts since April 2015. Some of it feels like something your typical Facebook mom or boomer would type, and a few of the posts manage to be on-topic, lucid or even funny at times, but then she veers off into claims about the government, her husband cheating on her, other women (who she often calls "you females") scheming against her, abuse, how blackface is illegal, having gang connections, someone she's dubbed "Mattress Mac", and more. Her early 2015~2018 posts were more positive in nature, often using the phrase "trust is key" and talking about moving forward with her kids, but as of 2019, she seems to be going through a rough patch. Lots of paranoia and anger. She made one post in June claiming she's "deleting her blog forever", but just started posting way more often than before.

What's kind of worrying is that a few of her posts talk about how she has children (3 to be exact), and one of them is developmentally disabled. She mentions dealing with having an autistic child a few times, too.
Unlike istherelifeafterlyme, she doesn't seem to have doxxed herself in any real way, so it'd be difficult to call for help for her (she's mentioned that she's 34, and has implied a few times that she's from the south). There's no dramatic, progressive breakdown of her coherency, or much of a linear explanation on what caused this (though, she's mentioned being an abuse survivor, having manic depression, a genetic disorder with a 50/50 chance of passing to her children, possibly having autism, the list goes on).
I wouldn't really call her a "personal cow" since this concerns me more than it entertains me, but her blog is kind of a deep dive of strangeness. I'm not really sure what to do with all this.

This reminds me of when I was on twitter a couple of years ago, someone from my college was complaining about all the weebs who had infested the Japanese classes and that 90% of everything they talked about was anime or manga related. They said that every class project was something with an anime character, and that one of the students legit thought anime studies should be a bigger component of a serious credit transferable class.

Psychology can be a rabbit whole. When I'm sad and depressed I like to read through my collection of pirated psychology textbooks. Through this method I have self diagnosed my self with 5 disorders, all probably wrong. I have also found nothing to solve the question on my futile quest on 'what the fuck is wrong with me'. I'm also an avoidant attachment type.

I usually find psychology books by googling it, clicking shopping, and putting the price range at 40 or 50 dollars and up. The 10-20 dollar books are usually pop-science stuff, but once you hit the 40-50 range you get more textbooks and guidebooks. Also open sylbusm project has stuff on it (opensyllabus.org/result/field?id=Psychology). It's just a collection of people submitting the books they used in their major.
I use gen.lib.rus.ec/ and b-ok.cc to download. I search through b-ok.cc first because it's more lenient when you search (libgen requires every word and comma to be the exact thing you're looking for), then I copy and paste the title to libgen (you can use b-ok.cc, but it has a 5 books per day limit).

does anyone else watch prisontube? I never had an interest in prison life before but for some reason these videos kept getting recommended to me. there are videos from former inmates talking about life in prison and jail (which are apparently two different things). this video is about life hacks in prison, how people would make something called a "stinger" to heat up water, and made jewelry and rosaries out of plastic bags and it was made so well you couldn't tell it was made out of that. it's all very creative and interesting honestly.

Reminds me of how I once heard about how an asshole massage can cure hiccups

"A 60-year-old man with acute pancreatitis developed persistent hiccups after insertion of a nasogastric tube. Removal of the latter did not terminate the hiccups which had also been treated with different drugs, and several manoeuvres were attempted, but with no success. Digital rectal massage was then performed resulting in abrupt cessation of the hiccups. Recurrence of the hiccups occurred several hours later, and again, they were terminated immediately with digital rectal massage. No other recurrences were observed. This is the second reported case associating cessation of intractable hiccups with digital rectal massage. We suggest that this manoeuvre should be considered in cases of intractable hiccups before proceeding with pharmacological agents."

I've been in a true crime rabbit hole for a year, closely following a really famous missing persons case- Maura Murray. She was a college student in Massachusetts who lied to her nursing professors that there was a death in her family, drove 2 hours to the White Mountains in New Hampshire by herself, no one knows why or where she was going. She lost control of her car going around a corner (lots of snow/ice). Neighbors called the police & but when police got there 5 min later she was gone. It was dark out, she didn't know anyone there, and the road was really desolate. No one knows what happened. There have been searches for years.

It's a not so well kept secret that the police's main person of interest is this guy, first name Rick, who lived in a trailer by the crash scene. He wouldn't let police search his property and made really strange comments that got back to police. Yesterday I found out his daughter is a decent sized YouTuber with around 600k subs. Guess she got out of new hampshire, moved to LA, and tried to make it on YT. Crazy. He's never been charged and the case is still open. The more you read about it the stranger the circumstances seem.

I’ve been very interested on Selena’s murder case. Been reading a lot of old articles and stuff regarding the trials. Never heard of her in my country, so I was curious about why her death had such a big impact at the time and how does she stay pretty relevant until today.

This is an old post, but it caused me to fall down a different internet rabbit hole, so hopefully it's still relevant.
I went to the YouTube channel of the woman in the embedded video, and surprisingly enough, she's still posting. Her life is actually very sad. Before the Second Life video, she cared for her husband in his late stages of cancer until he passed away. She has a few videos of their last memories together, he was wheelchair-bound at that point.
After her husband passed, she ended up a single working mom, with a son who has seizures and seems to possibly be disabled in some way. Looking at her recent videos, her father has also now passed away, they were evicted from their home, and now she lives with her son and their guinea pig in a cheap motel room while she works at what seems like a restaurant.
It's 2020 yet still so hard to fathom that modern technology can allow us to observe people's lives at such a closely personal level. It's so jarring, too, to be able to close the video and go back into my own life as if I hadn't just witnessed multiple tragedies happen to a complete stranger over the span of years.

I went on a rabbit hole after watching a Japanese baby channel. The dad who runs the channel had his last name on the channel’s email account prior to changing it, no biggie.

I checked out the channel’s social media, starting with Twitter. The channel (also run by dad) retweeted some of dad’s stuff from his personal account so I checked it out of curiosity, most of it was about his side martial arts YouTube channel and other “adult” things not related to his daughter’s channel.

In a video, the parents mentioned that they met during college and in a livestream, they answered questions of where they’re originally from; one of them was either from Nagano and the other was from Okinawa as seen in their travel vlogs. In one instance, the mother was getting fed up with her daughter not eating and threw food and eating utensils at her plate; the dad quizzically exclaims “Kanako?” and they continue on with the stream.

I googled their names in romaji and went on Facebook to see if there were any matches and sure enough, there were. Their profiles are opened and rarely used nowadays but when you look at their past; they seemed like outgoing, normal Japanese people who took kawaii pictures with each other or their friends.

Them now is a far cry from what they used to be; the mom looked happy and ecstatic being with her friends and bf turned husband, doing research of society for her major and traveling to many parts of Japan. - same goes for the dad who looked shy and serious yet happy. I was like “damn, they used to have a life!” Now they look sorta miserable and kinda ratchet with their two daughters who are happy and oblivious, it could be the corona and cabin fever but you could see the haggardness and stress prior to all that and before their second daughter was born.

The mom admitted to being unhappy and sometimes would drown away the stress with alcohol, same with the dad as one can see in videos of the eldest trying to drink beer out of the six packs and they would occasionally hand off the burdens of parenthood to her parents if they reached their limits - all of this said nonchalantly.

I still like to watch their channels because the girls are quite and charming, the parents do raise them well and give them love whenever they don’t give “I feel like shit” vibes but I do tend to get the feeling that everything is not what it seems.

I wonder what the do with the video shekels though…

>Second Life videos are amazing. Many people that play this game are extremely weird.
I once followed Britbong around SL and randomly talked with other people from main hub. Looking at yt videos of some sperg arguing with Britbong on main hub the guy from video did open Windows 10 start menu at some point. There was my selfie visible in photo app and it looked like it was uploaded on facebook, but I've never done that. Got spooked since then.

Well he wasn't into it (as far as I know) when we started dating. We were both pretty adventurous, we had threesomes and public sex with each other, and it was fun exploring that side of myself with him. It's ironic you mention diaper wearing because he did make jokes about me needing to wear diapers and pissing myself while out in public, like while out at a restaurant or store or something.

Anyway the doll stuff: about a year into our relationship ads for them started showing up on our computer's sidebars and I ordered a mask thinking it was some sort of bdsm thing (which it is, btw). He liked it well enough and kept making jokes about wearing it instead until one time when he insisted I let him. Same old story, he really liked it, kept wearing it, kept buying outfits and wigs and eventually more masks for it, until I found out about the names and personas he gave each wig. He wanted to start telling people we knew irl/in real life about them which I was really against because I liked to keep my sex life private. That's basically what ended the relationship, he wanted to be open and I didn't. Now a days he has a blog where he posts about all of his fetishes and even puts his name, pictures, and selfies onto it.

It sucks so hard because I loved him so much, and I can't help but feel like I ruined his life because of it. I wish I those ads never showed up in my sidebar, I feel so guilty

somebody posted this video on 420chan and i can't stop thinking about this dude. he's probably schizo and has fried his brain with research chems and posts inane videos, all with 'Smoking a menthol cigarette talking about this and that. Its a nice video I think :)' in the description. he's creepily obsessed with some girl who died. also paints sick delsym-themed paintings.

Aww I did not mean to be an asshole, that sucks.

On another note some men apprently clip hair out of their heads to use as pubes for full body masking suits.

also if those ads were there and you weren't looking it up in the first place then he was probably already looking them up if you shared a computer, ya know cookies and all that

Schizophrenia is so damn terrifying. Imagine how much damage there has to be in the brain - in it's natural, normal state - to incoherently babble like this while you yourself think it 100% makes sense, is perfectly fine and are unable to see a problem. And the only way to get out of it is to be dependent on meds for all your life because your brain is damaged by default.
