I couldn't login any more because I couldn't remember my childhood email and password, but I could still view my profile, my guild (or whatever it was called) and my store and it was so nostalgic.
I'm sad that I'll never see that piece of my childhood again because I poured so much time into it. Also, IMVU if anybody else played that :>
Lupe was obviously the superior Neopet just FYI.

I've been playing my old main account nonstop lately while I wait to start a new job.
TL;DR in case anyone didn't know, the Neo economy basically went to shit and the neopoint got hyper-inflated. So a lot of pet paintbrushes and potions are actually affordable now. Making neopoints also got easier: it's basically given away like candy, there's tons of new free dailies, and since Neo got new ownership, "TNT" doesn't monitor side accounts as closely anymore.
In two weeks I've: painted my pets faerie, mutant, woodland (this one is new), and next I will be working on returning my baby lupe to royal after it got zapped by Boochi; and also pumped an extra 1 mil into my gallery.
>>38244Agreed.
>>38170Lupes are pretty solid. Some of the neopet re-draws were really disappointing compared to what they used to be though, pic related.
Unfortunately my royal lupe was new so it'll never be 'grandfathered' to look like the old design :/

Some of the games are actually pretty fun and I used to play them out of boredom (like Faerie bubbles, Pyramids and that Solitaire one) but I haven't been to that place since they introduced the customization bullshit. The idea of the paint brushes was that you'd get a different looking pet with possibly a different pose and anyone could fucking get those paint brushes if they put an effort into it. The customization thing ruined it, it made all the pets look ugly and generic no matter what colour they had. And now it's all about real life money and microtransactions, and the neocash is actually pretty costly. I have to wonder how the kids are able to afford all that shit.
>>38244Seconding this. I was so pissed off that Gelerts were never popular and didn't get big parts in the stories.
Neopets is pretty much dead now though, I was never big into the community except maybe in 2003 because I liked reading the scamming and staff corruption drama.

I don't anymore. My account was frozen 10 years ago for "hacking flash games" (I was 12 and barely had a grasp on what flash games were lmao). Though, I basically grew up on that game so I have a major soft spot for it.
I started back in 2000 when I was 7 years old. I drew and wrote retarded stuff about my neopets in my school journals. My poor teachers had to read my autistic ramblings about rearranging my neohome n shit or my shopping lists for my pets.
My favorite games were Cheat and the dodging ice cream in a… warehouse? one. Plushie tycoon was fucking fun too. I loved getting free omelettes from the giant egg thing. Wockies. Jelly land. Getting on every day for advent calendar. I squandered most of my childhood on that site.
>>38170Oh god, IMVU. I was fun to meet other kids and chat way back, but last I checked, it's turned into a dating thing. My parents caught my little sister cybering dudes on it and blamed me so we both never got to use it again. I honestly had NO idea she was doing that cuz she was like 10 years old at the time.

Fuck, the nostalgia ;_; I didn't even know Neopets was still a thing. I was on there constantly for a few years, beginning in 1999, just a bit after it was started. I wouldn't admit this in public, but if it weren't for a connection first established on fucking Neopets of all places, I wouldn't have ended up meeting my husband, so thank you, Neopets.
But I have to say, thinking about all of the fake currency and "valuable"/rare items I have sitting in abandoned accounts on various games, including Neopets, makes me want to weep. I have wasted so much of my life doing useless shit.

In recent news there was an epidemic of hackings where at least hundreds of people had their accounts broken into and then locked by staff for safety. I'd actually recommend people who haven't been on in several months or more check and see that their account is open and safe so if it is closed and you want it back you can file a ticket.

No. 195691
>>43929>>195688i loved whyville, habbo, and VMK (pic related, it was a promotional MMO launched by disney for the 50th anniversary celebration of disneyland, made by the same company but much higher quality when it came to graphics and locations and backgrounds because of disney money - it was basically a virtual version of disneyland.) i was pretty young when i played both, probably too young for habbo but just the right age for VMK, which unfortunately shut down…
i played disney's toontown, too, which shut down recently as well. both VMK and toontown have remakes that basically exist because the people running them removed the trademarked disney characters, though i haven't tried playing either because i feel like my memories of it are mostly this positive because i was much younger, and playing it with people around my age might not be as fun or something.
in general, i loved "social" MMOs like habbo/VMK/whyville, and i wish i could find games like them again? i just loved getting my character outfits, decorating my room, and interacting with others in "public" spaces with minor (sometimes optional) quests and stuff on the side

No. 195816
>>195782You could be in one of the locked out accounts. Your best bet is making a new account, searching for your old one and seeing if it is still there and then making a ticket (report essentially) requesting for access to your account back.
Word of warning though, their customer service is amazingly bad and people having the same issue as you have been waiting for months for the ticket to be answered. People have had most luck posting the ticket number daily in the ticket wait thread in the Help board and posting the number in the Neopets FB page right when they make a new post (they are more likely to reply within 20 minutes of the post being posted).
It sucks but the nice thing is you can play with the new account while you have no access to the main one and slowly build up the account and when you get your old one back you can switch to the main one!
(I'm extremely active on neopets in case anyone needs any other help)

I still play from time to time for throwback value, but I just can't get into the customization thing (putting a wig and pants on your pet just does not appeal to me) and the added element of real money items seems to tarnish my nostalgia somewhat. it seems like that's what much of the community revolves around now, though
regardless, this site was ridiculously formative for me when I was a kid, it got me into html and the whole economy simulation aspect was always something that interested me. the main reason I log in now is to check the stock market. for whatever reason, it is such a calming way to waste time

I started playing when I was almost 6 and a half so my neopets all have ugly names but I wasn't heartless enough to give any of them up. the economy went to shit and it was really fun at the time but now it's not my thing. There's like 4 games i still come back to once in a blue moon. my account is 12 and a half years old, yikes.
Then I moved on to runescape in like 2007 and habbo hotel. there was also this online thing i can't quite remember? it started off as making a character for msn and then there was an online world tied to it.

Neopets economy has been shit for as long as I can remember and I could never be bothered to learn how to buy/sell/do the stock market thing. I feel only slightly bad that I've wasted a cloud paintbrush and the Hissi that came with it, a friend got both for me and I never play this game (but apparently that np was chump change for her).
