My personal beef stems from the content she produces. June chooses to make fun of / pick on low hanging fruit - she's what is considered a nut-picker. She takes idiotic people who associate themselves with a social justice movement and points out how idiotic they are. But she is doing more than point to how a person is behaving immaturely. Those people are easy to criticize because these nut-picked examples represent failures to make convincing and well-thought out arguments and points. Feminism is not a mind-control cult. People have varying definitions of what constitutes being a feminist and upholding feminist ideology. Most modern feminist discourse is focused on disagreeing / invalidating points made by past generations of feminists or total dedication to exploring concepts of intersectionality, which places less focus specifically on the female sex and bleeds into race, sexuality, the opposite sex, gender, etc.
She is reductive saying that feminism is not women. No, feminism and women do not necessarily hold a sacred, deeply ingrained bond with women, but to use that statement to defend the way you conduct business is foolish.
When you attach "feminists" and "feminism" to shrieking irrational people, you are communicating your level of understanding of a topic. It's not bad that she finds stupid people and calls them out for being stupid. That's not the issue. It's the way that you find stupid people that associate themselves with feminism and do not attempt in any way to communicate an understanding that those people are not wholly representative of a decades-long movement that is consistently changing and reflecting / criticizing itself.
You are communicating, at least to me, that all you know or care to know / entertain of feminism, is the negative and irrational. I can't say for certainty if you believe that an entire movement is irrational and negative in such a reductive manner, but when you do what you do, it appears to be at the very least a possibility.
She is consistently inconsistent, in the same regard, on other topics. It is disappointing because even disagreeing with a rights movement is not what is unacceptable, it is that you fail to challenge yourself and develop greater understandings of certain topics. It is clear with the same boring shit about the same idiotic people you choose to criticize.
It's like fundamentally agreeing that racially motivated police brutality exists and agreeing that something - and you don't know what - should be done to prevent people being abused for something they can't control…. and then posting 10 videos of you guffawing to Bernie Sanders getting brigaded by BLM protesters. And then entertaining disdain for those people and attaching it to the entire idea behind the movement, thus constantly criticizing / mocking / belittling the very notion of a person associating with the ideas behind movements. You don't have to go and save the world, but you can do something simply by being more careful with your content.
But I guess that would stop her from becoming an edgelord that chooses to be a contrarian to make up for the fact she doesn't actually totally understand where other people are coming from because she refuses to do so.
