Obviously a lot of them go overboard like Margo and Mama Kannibal and (allegedly) these twins' parents, but I can honestly say 100% that if my kid showed interest in even the weebiest Japanese shit and wanted to learn Japanese to become an idol, I would enroll them in language school and whatever else to help them achieve that dream. The advantage of speaking multiple languages and the extracurricular activity outweighs any weeb embarrassment to me. That said, I know about the seedy underbelly of the idol world thanks to all of these lolcows so maybe I would be reluctant to let them fly over to meet up with some random dude a la Yukapon but my point is, I can see why a parent would be supportive of it to an extent, since there's really nothing to be lost from learning a new language and parts of a different culture.
As for the eroge as minors thing, I am fairly certain Ally and Sally are older than 18 and probably started their "careers" around that age. All of these idol types like to play the precocious loli role. I was kind of under the impression that the being into eroge since they were kids thing was more of a character for them.
