Sooooo has anyone brought this chick up?? Let me start with why I'm even posting this. So this chick had a Kickstarter that raised $80000+ for a webcomic she "wanted" to make. But this was back in 2012/2013 so skip to now and there have been no updates on this webcomic site, the Kickstarter comments are all asking where the fuck their shit is.

She stated "From this, I've accumulated enough content to create a book, but I don't have the time or funds to lay it out and get it published. As a freelance artist, I have to spend most of my time creating art for other people to get by. It's an awesome job, but it doesn't leave much time for personal projects, and I can't afford to work less. A successful Kickstarter would give me the freedom I need to make this book happen."

So after nearly 4 years or something, with barely any updates I go to her Tumblr to read "I’ve taken almost no freelance work since starting my job at Motiga to help mitigate burnout, but last year I was approached by Cryptozoic to do another card for their TCG, HEX. I really love the design of their elves, so I made a small exception~" I wanna know what fuck happens to everyone's money!? Like she said, that money was going to be used so she could work on this thing….

In 2015 she posted this "After a two year hiatus, page 008 of The Cloud Factory is up.

This unfinished page has been one of the biggest obstacles in my repeated attempts to resume the project. It was a reminder of the months-long anxious breakdown that followed the Kickstarter, which is still being fulfilled, and a cascade of professional failings. It remains a major source of stress for me, but I refuse to just give up on it. I don’t want to be on that list.

I can’t entertain the idea of regular updates yet, but neither can I let this story sit around collecting dust while I wait for it to stop making me feel uncomfortable to work on. I don’t have a whole lot of spare creative energy outside of my full-time gig, but I can surely spare enough to put out a page or two every now and again.

The plan moving forward is to work in small batches and try to keep my proclivity for crazy painterly rendering to a minimum. This page probably took no more than 10 hours to complete, compared to the 30 hour average of previous pages! I can work with that.

-L"

Umm…I think $80000 is definitely something that could motivate a person…but wait…"FULL-TIME GIG"???? If she is still "working" why did she take all that money from people. Why is no one hounding her down about this, demanding refunding or at least and a good goddamn reason for this bull!

I dunno… does anyone else have any info on what the fuck happened?? Because I'm coming up dry…

OH shit You're right! I just read her thread….
It's artist like them, that give other Kickstarter artists a bad name. But whatever…I'm sure no one is going to pursue legal action. I'm sure then, future artists will have enough "creative motivation" to finish these projects…. (sorry for the long post)

A little tip. Maybe next time anon give the details short green text descriptions. It's easier to read and attracts more people. Not being an ass just genuinely want to help.

I looked at the comments at her kickstarter and damn people are really unhappy. However it looks like one guy, ONE GUY, commented that he got his book and stickers (a month ago). Maybe there's hope?

Honestly I don't know how she went that long without showing any progress. She said she's a freelancer and when you freelance it's key that you keep contact with your client and update them with some kind of deliverable. Should definitely apply here when you're getting over $80,000 of money.

>>263275 Oh definitely!! I absolutely agree that she should be waaaaaaay more vocal about what's going on. I mean she's obviously in good health and still has the ability to draw. So my feeling is she has no excuse for this.

Also, I didn't know how to give the green text description XP, I'm sorry.

If you don't start your essays like this then don't start threads like this
