America in it's current state doesn't have a cohesive enough identity to do this. Having said that, we already did in a way. While we speak English it's a different sort than anywhere else. In linguistic anthropology, it's noted that whatever concept there is the most words for in a language is what concepts are most important to the culture. In American English that is work/hard work and I can't remember what it is in England but it's different.
