Well if you're not a talentless, socially inept hermit, and it a butterface there's plenty use for Instagram…like posting pictures of you travels or if your an artist your drawings. If you're average and know how to put on makeup it's a great way to get ass pats for self esteem.

Or just be like the basics and use it to follow friends/families/ and crushes. Great way to find out if someone is single or not.

Can't think of any reason. I work in tv/film so being connected is more important, I have a lot of coworkers and former-employers on facebook and twitter. They don't really care what I look like, and 90% of the time the things I'm making I can't post until it's aired which could take a year or two. So..can't really post that. There's a lot of people and you can search anyone and follow anyone, that's the only difference between that and the facebook photos. If you really need to cast a wide net for your work it might help get in touch with randoms.

When I first got a Instagram, I set it on private and didn't let anyone follow me. I posted pictures of everything, my dogs, my meals, my clothes, etc.

Then when I got more comfortable with the platform, I set it to public and let people follow me. Now, I have a decent amount of followers (4k).

I really don't think you're missing much, I pretty much just use it to clear up my photo library and talk to people.

I've found it nice for finding new recipes to try.
