What do you think of 4chan? Namely, the boards outside of /cgl/.

No. 76082

Why?

No. 76085

It's shit. For most boards it's just the "cool, edgy" place for wannabe "cool, edgy" tumblr users. also the mods/jans and people that run it are complete shit.

Fullchan is dead and full of spam that overtakes actual human conversation, but even then I still prefer it.

No. 76088

How the fuck isn't 8chan exactly the same as everything you said about 4chan?

No. 76091

I wish fucking /pol/ would stop turning every thread into some kind of race debate. It's just the same shit over and over and over and over and over.

No. 76094

4chan is something that started it all so you all sound pretty fucking stupid.

And the waves from r9k and pol are starting to shit this place up.

What exactly did 4chan baords do better before than now? I'm pretty sure if the antics from 2007/08 were pulled today, you would think you stumbled into 9gag or youtube comments or something.

No. 76125

It's become garbage.
I mean it was always garbage, but now it's worse.

I live in student accommodation and have tried to post to different boards occasionally and I keep getting hit with 30-day bans for proxy/VPN.

I've tried explaining this to mods but they don't give a shit. What's the point of isolating such an enormous percentage of people with this retarded rule?

No. 76126

I guess I should've started off with a post that was more substantial.

All the fast boards are garbage, including /a/ which somehow continues to delude itself into thinking otherwise. I use /m/ now inb4 weebshitter get out and /m/ is far more tolerable in comparison as there are way less sex starved retards posting "muh board culture" threads. /c/ and /e/ really failed their jobs. /m/ has its own faults and that includes the fact that half the board is made up of generals and sometimes you'll get faggots bumping from page 10 even when there's no new material to discuss just to keep the thread alive longer.

Slow, interest-based boards are nice to read through but at times intimating to contribute to, not that it's a bad thing. /ic/'s pretty crap though. Full of unqualified people shitting on each other.

And finally the mods and janitors, I'd pay a thousand dollars to punch each and every one of them in the face through my computer screen. /a/ is the mods' baby, they don't give a rat's ass about any other board. Off-topic shitposting threads on boards that aren't /a/ are left alive for 12 hours and sometimes even babysat. Janitors push their own agenda onto the boards they're designated to and delete threads simply because they don't like them. It's also nearly impossible to contact Hirohito. I wish it weren't true but Hiro makes me miss moot.

No. 76129

I used to browse 4chan a lot but it's gone so downhill. I started with /b/ as a kid and found it entertaining before it just became neckbeards debating over whether dicks should be cut or not.

Then someone introduced me to /x/ which actually had a lot of women and some really interesting threads about urban exploration and murder mysteries but now it clogged with stupid conspiracy theories.

Then I found /cgl/ which I still browse from time to time to see if there were threads for cons I was attending but the fun died out and it isn't the same so followed the drama here.

tl;dr it was great once and now it's shit.

No. 76221

I go on /co/ from time to time, but it's really only good for shitposting and laughing at autists. Also they occasionally storytime something worth reading.

The problem with a lot of 4chan is that half of it is pol and half of it is tumblr, and they're always at each other's throats. At least on /co/, a lot of discussions turn into name calling at some point or other.

No. 76232

I really only go on /tv/ its slow enough to follow most of the time. And people are funny. Plus I like coming across a movie or tv show thread I actually watch and reading what people are saying. I rarely contribute tho.

No. 76267

/fit/ is good, newfriends have been anally aggrivated by a traps popularity even though s/hes been there for a while, /vg/ is okay

No. 76296

/co/ and /mu/ are the only ones I regularly go to
/co/ is pretty half and half, sometimes like with the recent PPG threads you have insightful critiques and on the other hand you have name-calling. Sometimes there's a fun thread
/mu/ is filled with underageb& and generals, the way some of them treat female artists is creepy and weird
/tv/ is a lot of fun because of all the shitposting and semi-pol discussion
/cgl/ is pretty good for generals/inspo but I hate the pettiness
NSFW boards are the only consistent boards in terms of quality if you ignore occaisional shitposting

They invaded, thinking they could spread their nonsense to the womenz board. Too bad for them that they stick out like sore thumbs when they go on about how all women are whores or their circle cuck theories.

No. 76470

/fit/ is kinda cool
/int/ is comfy, you can be a retard in the /lat/ thread and no one gives a shit

/a/ is the only place I can tolerate anime discussion, but I avoid the rest unless I want info on something specific. It's still the place I trust most when it comes to anything outside of interpersonal/social/political issues, so if I need a guide for something, or recommendations or anything like that I'll always go there (eg: /int/ for language learning resources).

No. 100367

No. 100370

4chan is awful

No. 100371

I basically only use 4chan for looking up porn. I sometimes do requests on /y/ when i'm bored (and because i'm a yaoi/bara loving degenerate).
The only board i frequently communicate with others in is /ic/ since i draw/paint/do comissions etc (though it's filled to the brim with lazy incompetent idiots who thinks practicing drawing waifus 2 hours a week will get you anywhere).
4chan's great for indulging in your guilty pleasures, but can't say i've had many rewarding conversations there. /b/ is fun when i can't sleep and it's 3am.

It used to be way more fun years ago. Now it seems like redpilled losers have spilled into majority of the boards and for every great greentext you get 10 whiny cringeworthy posts about either bitches and whores or dang negroes and how they're completely responsible for anon's failure in life. I miss the times when you could actually have an anonymous discussion and not just argue about inane shit until you get called a cuck when the other person runs out of arguments.

It's like the worst redditors have heard it's "the cool place to be" and now they're convinced they run the fucking place. Absolutely disgusting. Even the NSFW boards have declined, filled with either the newest Flavor Of The Month or shitty contrived fetishes.

No. 100389

Couldn't have said it better myself. 4chan has been shit since around 2008 before le anonymous happened and edgy kids who wanted to feel like they were apart of something invaded the site. 2010 on just started to become flooded with redditors.

No. 100400

I only really look at /lgbt/ and /ck/ because their memes are funny. And I occasionally look at /r9k/ because the posts on there are bizarre and amusing. I used to like /fa/ and /mu/ but they're too circlejerk-y now.

/sci/ is… ugh.

There are occasionally good threads but their obsession with IQ tests (and they don't even use legit ones) is grating. Not to mention it's like 95% narcissistic undergrads who haven't even accomplished anything yet they just circle jerk about majors. It is sometimes OK if you want to ask a specific question, provided it's not too advanced.

/int/ was my home board, I only check in on country generals now. The rest of it feels like /pol/ lite. /ck/ is great, but I want mods to leave based Ja/ck/ threads alone. Let us post big boy bite webms in peace.

My favourite board is /an/, although there are too many stupid 'omg my pet is sick wat do' threads and wank over dog training/outdoor cats. Otherwise it has a similar vibe to /ck/. I love when other anons post their pets.
