Fun fact: the wife of the artist of "Bondage Fairies" is an established yaoi and josei artist. She's actually worked on more than he has.
I personally consider anything pre-2010 classical, since that's about the time I became familiar with hentai. Most stuff pre-2000 could actually be called a classic in some way though.
As for tentacles, I like Ishimura, and Asanagi did some good ones in the early chapters of "Victim Girls". I'm really not very picky though.
