'Tis the season.
What are your thanksgiving plans? Are you guys still having Thanksgiving despite the Covid "crisis"? What's your go-to dish?

Turkey is always the worst dish of a thanksgiving meal. Turkey just isn't a good tasting bird. Why fucking bother??? Please just smoke a slab of brisket or order a couple peking ducks or something.

It's a pain going to family dinners, because my bf and I are both vegan, so we end up bringing our own food anyway.

My boyfriend and I will probably stay home and make a Tofurky, mashed potatoes, and maybe I'll attempt green bean casserole. Or we might not do anything, because he has to work.

Since its the time of covid and me and my husband work in healthcare, its just gonna be the two of us this year. Im looking forward to it. Im gonna make a baked Mac and cheese and maybe some apple pie. We're gonna get cozy and just enjoy a quiet evening.

We don’t usually celebrate thanksgivings but my mom really wants to celebrate it this year. We’re ordering some cute thanksgiving shit to decorate the house and some adorable tinfoil containers so we can gift some food to my brother’s girlfriend’s family and such.
I hope we can get some turkey or at least some pig. I’m looking forward to the mashed potatoes and the pie.

Still haven't quite decided if I'm going home yet, but if not, I'll probably spend it with my friends and/or boyfriend who can't travel either. I love making side dishes and do really well at it, I've just never even attempted at making a ham or turkey. Partially because I was vegetarian for a long time, now just because it seems daunting and I can use the "I do the sides tho!" excuse.

I'm really hyped about Thanksgiving this year for some reason. Maybe it's the Covid thing getting to me bc we haven't been able to see some of my family, but usually I don't care/like big family gatherings. Not sure who's going to host this year since one of the family members is undergoing cancer treatment and were advised not to have too many people around due to compromised immune system. We also don't traditionally do turkey as the main dish, one year we had ribs and venison. I really love the sweet potatoes, potato salad, and sauteed green beans though.
