OP here.

I am obsessed with AI-generated faces. I have over a thousand photos saved of them. I don’t know, it feels like I’m “losing them” if I don't take save them. I’ve been thinking about buying a separate drive for them. I give them names, and sometimes personalities and backstories. I’ve created a little fantasy world for them, I separate them into folders based on their location, their ‘family’, and their class. I write notes about it. It’s honestly scary at this point- now that we’re in quarantine I spend hours a day doing it. I know that it’s weird but it’s just a fixation.

I think that the characters I make up ‘inside of my mind’ as just as real as ‘real’ humans. They still feel pain and have emotions even if they don’t exist in the outer world. Like if I make them hurt, it still exists. Sometimes I make them die or I give them tragic backstories and it makes me feel very guilty. The world is rough right? But at the same time I’m causing it. And sometimes I wonder if I am just a part of someone else’s imagination. Lately I’ve been starting to doubt that people around me are even real. It really makes me think about how far we can take this.

Speaking of the worlds I’ve created using AI-generated software: one of my favorite territories I’ve created is Varkiya (Officially “Fifth District”, part of Arcadius.)

The 5th District (Varkiya) is a newer territory obtained from the Arcay-Masedran War that is fighting for it’s independence. This region has an entirely different culture from the rest of Arcadia and Masedra, it even has it’s own language. It’s independence movement is lead by working class activist Maaun Leusic. I won’t get into it too much because I don’t want to blog, but I’ve written almost an entire wiki for it. Maybe I’ll upload it all to dropbox if anyone cares.
