I used to work with kids. One day a kid just straight up punched another kid in the stomach - no clue why. They were just playing and next minute she's crying on the ground. I have to comfort her and later, call his mom to tell her what happened. I explain who I am, Why I called. As soon as I tell her what happened she says "I need to know why you aren't asking the other child what she did to cause my son to react that way." Shit you not. I was in such shock it ended up making my stutter come up. The woman started raising her voice at me to the point where my boss, who was pretty fuckin lazy, takes the phone from me and tells her to quit it cause she will absolutely not tolerate me being treated like that. The woman ended up crying saying she doesn't know what to do with her kid and that she's working a job 3 hours away and that's why he's in the care of his grandparents. It was sad and infuriating at the same time tbh.

The kid was smug as hell after the phone call cause he knew she wasn't in town so I just said "Wow can't wait to explain to your grandmother the attitude you just gave me." And he started crying. For the rest of my time there I just kept threatening to call his grandparents if he kept acting out.

When I was a teenager I worked in fast food and one of my co workers, a low level manager (we will call him J) would take like 20/30 minute bathroom breaks. This was not on his break time for the record. One time, one of my other coworkers had to use the bathroom so they went in after him as soon as he was done.

Coworker comes back out a handful of seconds later and starts speaking to J. J gets very very redfaced. Pulls out his phone and starts trying to show him something.

Their convo finishes and J walks off. Other coworker powerwalks over to me

>anon you are never gonna fucking believe me.

Turns out, J spent 30 minutes in the bathroom 3 or 4 times a shift jacking off into the toilet. When confronted he tried to pass it off as "uh, nuh uh not me dur" but eventually caved and tried to get coworker to agree with him by delving right into the TMI. Showed coworker their sexts and her nudes to try and dampen the embarrassment by saying shit like "you would too if ur gf said she 'wanted you to explode inside her."

Anyways, J had been making food again for a couple minutes after he came out of the bathroom and I just… yep.

Males, my good friends, are degenerates.

And people wonder why so many people opt out of having kids.

I witnessed a few instances of shit like this when I worked as a teacher's aid. It really shines a light on how so many people end up so abusive and entitled in adulthood.

I once had a lady demand I be fired from my fast food job because I only rang her up for one milkshake instead of two. This is made even more disgusting by the fact I read the order back to her before ringing it up.

Samefag, but to add- my manager apologized profusely, but subtly punished her by making her get in back of the line to be rung up for another one while it was super busy. Usually in a circumstance like that, we would just give the customer a free one, but this lady was so nasty that my manager opted to inconvenience her instead.

The most exciting days are when people (try to) steal. Last year a guy straight up grabbed some bottles of beer and tried to run. Before he could even reach the door two construction workers who just entered threw him to the ground (and beer splashed everywhere). He struggled so badly and it took ages til the police came. Stealing alcohol worth 2 bucks, really? Made my day lol
Last week a guy managed to escape after stuffing candy underneath is shirt - and he was easily 30. I only have one male coworker but he's short, gay and a whale, the women are mostly middle aged to old, so I'm the only somewhat fit person who could chase them but I'm seperated from the costumers by a glass counter meaning I can't stop them either lol They just gave up, although this wasn't the first time they caught him doing that.
One time a guy was lying in the shelves, seemingly no longer breathing and one of my coworkers had to check whether he was dead (of course he was only drunk).

The scariest moment was then two little girls came in and told me that a man keeps hitting on them. I already noticed him beforehand because he only wore leggings and also tried to chat up other women (but at least not underage ones). I went outside with the girls and I was so nervous. Of course I wanted to help them but going up to a guy and telling him you'll call the police is not easy. Luckily some costumers already did that, because they witnessed everything and the girls were under 14, the age of consent in my country. They also told me that this wasn't the first time he talked to very young girls. When the police came they at first only tried to tell him to go home but because he didn't listen they took him with them. Lately I keep seeing him again in our store and he told me that other men are all assholes because (unlike him) they don't tell me that I'm beautiful…ew. Being drunk shouldn't count as an excuse for pedo behavior.

Once my boss had his underage boytoy/photographer steal my phone from my hand so he could scream at a sponsor i just managed to get for his shit fashion label. He also made me and others go buy these crappy, thin craft store tote bags he sold as handmade, made us also hand print on them (what word am i looking for) about 20 minutes before he, again, made me go ship them out to clients who had been waiting for months on end.

Yeah like. That was one of many instances I saw at my job. I'm a natural around kids since I've literally helped raised them since I was a kid myself but that job really made me realize I like taking care of kids but prob never want my own.

Real talk I have so many examples with that kid alone, his mom is absolutely raising one of those men who don't respect women it's fuckin sad and nothing I could do about it. Kinda miss the rascals at my job tho

but why didn't you talk to him first? it could be that he gets beaten and is acting out this way.

No. 546607

>>546602
I did - this wasn't an uncommon thing with him acting out. Usually it's something like pushing a lil too hard during football. With this he couldn't say anything outside of 'I was just mad.' It's why I had to call his mom and not just the other kids parent.
I cared a lot about the little punk and it was mainly due to anger issues and his mom not being there. He was acting out in school and in our care so it was really a home issue since he most likely had some form of ADHD since he could never focus.

He did get beaten ie spanked but no abuse outside of that. And that's common in the area so I couldn't even bring it up as abuse if I wanted to (tried).
Sorry I ended up ranting to you but man a lot of things that happened in that job still kinda piss me off to this day and the fact that I ended up being some kid therapist since a lot of kids DID have something going on at home to where I became a mother/sister figure for a lot of them.

I worked as a server several years ago. Mom and young teenage daughter came in just before closing, both have long blonde hair, ordered kinda pricey entrees. I checked on them a few times after their food came and no complaints. When they were almost finished the mom calls me over super irate, complaining they found a hair in the girl's food, which is clearly a long blonde hair that couldn't have belonged to any of our staff that night. Mom complains and gets food for free.

The daughter looked so embarrassed. I'm guessing it was the mom's idea and that it wasn't the first time.

>one morning, she had enough of being in the hospital
>decided to tear out her catheter in protest, around the time we were making morning rounds

>she is standing in the giant puddle screaming and swearing at the nurses
>squats down on floor and takes a giant shit on the floor (she had very bad diarrhea)
>entire floor is now covered in blood, piss, and diarrhea
>have to call in cleaning lady
>when the cleaner opened the door, the force of the door opening caused all the fluids to smear onto the door and the lower part of the wall, that's how much there was
>cleaning lady legit looked like she wanted to die when she saw the state of the room
>ended up having to call in more cleaners because it was too much for just one person to deal with
>room smelt like shit for like 3 weeks afterwards
>felt really sorry for all the other patients who had to be in that same room

I work in a clothing store and there was lady who was looking for size 3xl mens trousers. After i got them for her (since my manager doesn't like to put them out because they take up space and the are the worst selling size), she tells me that they are for her 11 year old grandson and expressed her frustration about them being so morbidly obese. I don't know why, but I think about this a lot and I find it disgusting that people are aloud to allow their children to suffer in such a way. I can't even fathom what the child looks like or how they even got like that in the first place without some kind of force feeding or something. I hope those kids are taken away.

Remembered something else so I'll m posting it here cause I still can't get over it. Same anon with the kid hitting another kid situation.

Anyway my lazy as fuck boss would watch pimple popping and cyst removal videos. It was so disturbing I almost puked because once you opened up the door to her office you saw her screen. So she would talk to people while the fuckin video is playing. Kids learned to stop going into her office or else they would see it too. This wasn't a tactic to stop kids from coming in, she was just obsessed with these videos. Didn't matter if it was me, a coworker, kid , or parent - everyone knew she was watchin those videos. And they were graphic as hell

At one point a coworker asked me about it and I had to tell her that yeah she's been watching those types of videos as long as I worked there (4 YEARS).

Also nearly got fired cause I told her it was inappropriate to watch a movie and have the speakers blasting while an obvious sex scene was happening and kids were there and could HEAR. She is only still employed cause she's been there longer than anyone - fuckin awful what they'll let people get away with due to how old they are.

Last year I worked at a frozen yogurt shop while in university and got paid 8.25/hr. Meanwhile I was the only one working in the store from 7 am to 5 pm or one of two from 5-11 pm and I had to do every fucking thing imaginable. I'm talking register, cutting fruit, replacing toppings when they ran out, refilling yogurt machines, cleaning the topping table and floors because grown adults would make a mess putting their toppings or they would spill their yogurt. I had to make cakes, clean dishes, answer phone calls, refill the register with cash, cut more fruit, deal with people yelling at me for the overpriced yogurt that's out of my control, stocking the back pantry with shipments, cutting more fruit, cleaning more yogurt off the floors - ALL OF THIS FOR 8.25

and guess what my manager has the nerve to text me on my day off the next day?????!?!?!!

"Hey, I came into work today and found a cigarette on one of the outside tables and a little bit of dried yogurt. You need to be cleaning the outside tables better"

me: "Sorry for missing that spec of yogurt but also that cigarette wasn't there I can't control what happens when I'm not in the store"

"Well I found yogurt, make sure that doesn't happen again"

Fucking SORRY that I missed a fucking spot for 8.25 an hour.

I had the same experience as a barista. People think it's so easy because "you're just making coffee" but don't realize the 9001 other things you have to do, like cleaning the bathrooms, mopping floors, taking the trash out half a mile away to the giant dumpster, all for shit pay and managers who berate you with "you missed a spot" texts.

I'm an illustrator, and one dumb fuck of a customer wanted to see how the pieces I drew for them looked like in real life (because apparently the previews I sent weren't good enough) and demanded I skype with them and show the pieces on cam. The thing is, the pieces were digital and made for their website. The gig was quite well paid so I just printed them on regular paper and showed them on my shit ass cam and got my money. I'm still baffled by it.

where I live, anyone who enters a shop currently needs to cover their mouths and noses. Last week a family came in, all wearing face masks, everything was fine.
Some hours later, just the kids came in again, one with and two without masks. I told them they couldn't enter if they didn't cover their faces, and the girl literally said "But we were here with masks before, can't we enter without them now?"

oh lord, I have so many stories, especially from previous jobs. I'll tell one from my current job though, this happened a few days ago

>get hired at fuck*mart a few weeks ago

>they tell us about these guys called loss prevention. they walk around the store dressed like customers to watch people and prevent shop lifting. we were told not to let anyone know loss prevention works there as they are undercover
>they have a door of people going in, a separate door for people going out (this is because of covid 19, to stop people from walking past each other closely)
>I am supposed to direct people who try to go in the exit to the proper door
>couple tries to walk in exit, I point to them the correct door
>loss prevention guys LOVE to use the wrong door
>as couple is leaving, they see the loss prevention guy walking in the exit
>guy stops to literally yell at me
>"HEY. YOU YELLED AT ME AND MY WIFE FOR COMING IN THE WRONG DOOR" (I never yelled, just pointed) "YOU BETTER GO YELL AT HIM TOO.
>loss prevention guy sees this, does nothing
>I can't say "he works here" bc we have to treat them like customers
>the next day the same loss prevention guy WEARS A FUCKING NAMETAG letting everyone know he works here so what was the point of all of that

tl;dr I got yelled at by a customer for something that was not at all my fault

I'm in a country where masks aren't common so we're really relying on just distancing. Where I work groups of kids come in and because we have those 2 metre apart arrows on the floor a group of five kids will queue up each two metres apart to buy a single loaf of bread between them.. blocking up the whole small store. I explain every day that if you are siblings already coming in together you can queue together or even send one kid in to buy that single loaf of bread.

I wish parents would stop sending in four or five kids to buy one item. The owner doesn't want to upset locals by banning groups of kids.

There’s this special water they sell at my work that is supposed to be “oxygenated” and is supposed to “strengthen the immune system.” A lot of the stuff sold at my workplace is homeopathic so it seems fishy to me, but some people say it works for them, so who knows. It’s also around $100 per bottle, but you’re only supposed to drink a capful or two a day.
One day, I was on the phone with someone who was asking about the water, and when I told them the price, they were shocked. I said “I think it’s expensive too” out loud because I was trying to sympathize with them (and I agree tbh) but in hindsight it was so stupid because my other coworkers (who sell the water) heard me. I should’ve known that I was supposed to try to sell it to the customer. The next day I got told not to do it again. I just feel retarded and I think about this daily.

I work at a University, and am often terrified by all of the Law, Medicine, and Engineering students that literally just can’t read & are otherwise fucking dumb.
They will call screaming at me or they’ll be super passive because of something that is made available to them on the student website. Sometimes I will just read the page over, and suddenly they’ll go quiet. It’s actually so discouraging to know that some of these people will actually be in the workforce one day. It’s not even their lack of reading though, it’s the lack of common sense. Some of them are genuinely stupid, and I have no idea how they got in to begin with.

My favorite was when a Law student was telling me she wanted to sue the University, and I just sat there quietly as she went on. Finally, she asked me how to log into her student email. Sigh.

Uni anon here. Do it. Even if your initial scores (depending on where you’re from or admission processes) aren’t great, you go into less respected colleges and transfer into more prestigious universities if that’s something you’re interested in. I think education is education, and it doesn’t matter where you go but I work for a University that is the equivalent to US Ivy Leagues and a lot of people prioritize where I work because of its name.
The students here are really stupid a lot of the time, and I genuinely have no idea how they got in.
You can do it. You just need to be disciplined in doing your work, and willing to talk to your profs about what you don’t understand.
