>>4758What the hell? Get that license plate and report it if it's a constant thing.
On topic, I used to carry a knife/pen but lost it some time ago. Would love a gun, but even though I'm in Texas it's a bit too much money to spend on something like that right now.

>>4762Eh, I've tried but cops here side with the "gangsters" just because it's less trouble.
Also, is Texas as "gun-crazy" as they say it is?

Hard to say from my own personal experience. I live in Austin which is pretty much the opposite of the rest of the state, and I've only shot a gun once in a shooting range. Though, while doing a door to door job, a old guy pulled a gun out to try and scare me (not point it at me). I just got a little excited because I hadn't seen one up close before at the time, and he just shoo'd me away.

>>4777Where are you from? I'm from South Florida, but from a good city, I guess. A relative of mine moved just a few miles down to a city called Opa Locka, and within 3 months of moving there someone broke in, held her at gun point and robbed her. The place was all-around awful to begin with, even her niece was afraid to drive her there, and everyone we knew constantly warned her not to move there. If I were in her position I would have gotten a license for a concealed weapon.
My city is pretty safe though, I walk to local malls, grocery stores, and Mcdonalds all the time, sometimes even at 11PM and nothing happens. I think I only had one time at 6PM that I was walking to a grocery store, a guy in a skateboard started telling me "you want a ride? there's room here for here for the both of us", he wasn't really threatening, but sounded weird and it scared me. For a long time I've been thinking of getting a taser, maybe one of those that are disguised as female products.

>>4842Miami Lakes. I'm a little paranoid too, the reason I want a taser. But I think it's because of how much people say that Florida is bad, and all the crazies are in Florida. I used to not believe it, then I started reading international news on a daily basis and Florida was being mentioned way too often, while other states like Vermont and Nebraska for example, you never hear about.
There's even a twitter account for it.

>>4753I carry every day, I have actually had to pull my gun out when a man snatched my purse then when I tried to grab it back he started beating me down. I had a gun strapped to my leg in a holster and I managed to pull it out and shot a round pass him. He stopped and fled the scene.
I am glad I've carried a gun and I'll always carry one on me, especially after that.

>>4753I've thought about it and I'd probably buy two guns, one in my car (glove department?) and one in my house. Both for protection reasons.
I wouldn't carry a gun with me everywhere, I'd probably accidentally fire it or something lol. I carry a pocket knife and mace on me at all times, that's enough.
I've gone to a shooting range around ten times but I'd like to practice more before I buy a gun. I'm kind of, principally against them but whatever. I'd rather have one and not need it than need it and not have it.
