Sup lolcows,

what do you carry?
Or do you even carry a gun?

Why? / Why not?

No. 4756

Guns are for people who are afraid of the world.

I carry brass knuckles and a pocket knife. I guess I just wouldn't feel comfortable with a gun, where I live I don't need it really.
However, my dad works for the government and always has two Glocks strapped at all times. Kind of weird because he looks like a normal dude but he's always packing some mad powerful weapons.

I carry a pocket knife and pepper spray. I'd carry a gun but they're too expensive and it's too much of a hassle to buy one, even though I think I'd need it sometimes.

Sometimes I have to walk alone at night and cars try to run me over on purpose, as in they wait for me to cross and then they go and try to run me over and then turn around and try again. Not sure if using a gun would be considered self-defense in that situation though (American here).

What the hell? Get that license plate and report it if it's a constant thing.

On topic, I used to carry a knife/pen but lost it some time ago. Would love a gun, but even though I'm in Texas it's a bit too much money to spend on something like that right now.

Eh, I've tried but cops here side with the "gangsters" just because it's less trouble.

Also, is Texas as "gun-crazy" as they say it is?

Shit, stay safe. Is it the same people?

Hard to say from my own personal experience. I live in Austin which is pretty much the opposite of the rest of the state, and I've only shot a gun once in a shooting range. Though, while doing a door to door job, a old guy pulled a gun out to try and scare me (not point it at me). I just got a little excited because I hadn't seen one up close before at the time, and he just shoo'd me away.

Where are you from? I'm from South Florida, but from a good city, I guess. A relative of mine moved just a few miles down to a city called Opa Locka, and within 3 months of moving there someone broke in, held her at gun point and robbed her. The place was all-around awful to begin with, even her niece was afraid to drive her there, and everyone we knew constantly warned her not to move there. If I were in her position I would have gotten a license for a concealed weapon.

My city is pretty safe though, I walk to local malls, grocery stores, and Mcdonalds all the time, sometimes even at 11PM and nothing happens. I think I only had one time at 6PM that I was walking to a grocery store, a guy in a skateboard started telling me "you want a ride? there's room here for here for the both of us", he wasn't really threatening, but sounded weird and it scared me. For a long time I've been thinking of getting a taser, maybe one of those that are disguised as female products.

what city in s fl, anon? i'm from pompano and i don't feel safe at all here. maybe it's just because i'm paranoid.

Miami Lakes. I'm a little paranoid too, the reason I want a taser. But I think it's because of how much people say that Florida is bad, and all the crazies are in Florida. I used to not believe it, then I started reading international news on a daily basis and Florida was being mentioned way too often, while other states like Vermont and Nebraska for example, you never hear about.

There's even a twitter account for it. https://twitter.com/_floridaman

I live in nyc and feel pretty safe, have never thought about carrying a gun. I have ridden the train, walked around the streets, parks, etc at all hours of the night and early morning with no trouble (this is all in Manhattan though, idk about the other boroughs too much)

I think that most people who are killed here are by gun though. Despite that I don't think I'd ever get one.

Nyc has a strict gun ban whilst the highest rate of gang related gun deaths in the US, how can even someone feel safe when every criminal can easily get a gun and Rob you?

No. 5004

I live in Philadelphia where we have a high rate of gun related violence. No one's ever bothered me back in my old neighborhood despite the crime there.

I live in the far northeast now and the crime may be lower but the offset is less friendly people. There's just a different attitude here. Everyone stays inside. No one seems to want to be friendly. Nicest guy I met turned out to be a huge racist so screw that. I barely know my neighbors.

I don't carry any sort of weapon. to be honest I have a worse fear of being hit by a car. Too many idiots in SUVs around here. No one who has one seems to know how to drive.

I carry every day, I have actually had to pull my gun out when a man snatched my purse then when I tried to grab it back he started beating me down. I had a gun strapped to my leg in a holster and I managed to pull it out and shot a round pass him. He stopped and fled the scene.

I am glad I've carried a gun and I'll always carry one on me, especially after that.

I carry pepper spray and a pocket knife, though I haven't had any reason to use them, thankfully. My mom has a taser and spray, but she doesn't usually carry them. She does, however, have a BB gun at home. We both avoid walking anywhere without company. We've been planning on getting a shotgun, but we're waiting until we can move to Texas.

I've thought about it and I'd probably buy two guns, one in my car (glove department?) and one in my house. Both for protection reasons.

I wouldn't carry a gun with me everywhere, I'd probably accidentally fire it or something lol. I carry a pocket knife and mace on me at all times, that's enough.

I've gone to a shooting range around ten times but I'd like to practice more before I buy a gun. I'm kind of, principally against them but whatever. I'd rather have one and not need it than need it and not have it.

No. 82207

Fuck me, reading this I am so glad I live in the UK where the odd gunshot is just someone shooting rabbits. I'd love a shotgun license to deal with the little fuckers in the garden, but it's not as easy to get a firearm license in the UK. You have to have the police round and have two lockable places to keep the guns and ammunition separate. You can't just go into a shop and buy shit (Yes yes I know you have to wait a couple of days but it's hardly the same).
