A complete loser with severe mental issues. Ren & Stimpy was a great cartoon but mostly because John had talented people on the team. Everything else he made was utter crap that’s completely unappealing.

Also, the way he treated Robyn and Katie is horrific. That “apology” letter he wrote to them both was utterly pathetic and fucked.

He really tried as bet as he could to milk all the credit from Ren and Stimpy for himself because despite his best efforts to sabotage the show when it was airing. He knows its the only memorable and profitable project he ever worked on.

I guess after leaving he thought of himself a big shot that was entitled to shit on everyone but he did nothing of value after that and probably still lives on the Ren and stimpy money.

He's been a groomer slimebag since the 90s, and I think most of the people working with him were pretty aware of it and just didn't say much. It was like Dan Schneider where there were always rumors of him being creepy before any actual evidence came out

He groomed Robyn Byrd starting when she was 13 and still living in another state. She sent him a fan letter and from there, he promised her a job in animation. She was still underage when she moved in with him and started becoming his “girlfriend.” He apparently would show off nudes of her underage body to his co-workers.

John groomed Katie Rice starting when she was 13/14 too but she never allowed John to do anything sexual to her despite him pushing hard for it.

Buzzfeed actually did a really good article covers the whole thing well. There are also a lot more fucked up details to the story such as how he basically abandoned Robyn when she was getting an abortion and how he’d manipulated both her and Katie into hating each other.

Animation is a poppy field of broken perverted people, he is not exceptional in that regard, i legit think he got outed because he was such an asshole to everyone and not so much as other animators being shocked or concerned of his proclivities.

Even other artists who were his fans have stories of John K being a total dick to them.

Remember how John K. was the guy that coined the term and started the whole "cal arts style" meme in one of his angry rants, basically flipping off the entire current generation of creators and influential people in animation lol.
