I really like some anime, but I agree that I don't really get the people who are obsessed with nearly all anime.

I think it just has to do with people escaping reality and getting too absorbed into fiction. I do that too, but at least I use the Internet, which is a bit realer than fiction.

tbh i don't get fandoms either. but most fandoms are relatively harmless so if they want to sperg out and hump fading daki prints of their precious 2D waifu/husbando, whatevs. it's only certain specific series that tend to attract snowflakes and psychos for some reason.

case in point, not anime, but since we are discussing fandoms… steven universe. it's a cute show imo, even despite the sjw-y undertones. it bums me out to see it infested with autismos who send death threats to other fans because of fucking pixel art.

I never got it either, although I didn't try very hard.
Every once in a while I get curious and read about stuff animes that could interest me but nothing catches my attention. I don't know.

Also don't get people who are able to dive balls deep into whatever the new "flavor of the month" game/anime/show is and obsess over it until the next one hits. Fucking weird.
