As a male, I deal with a fair amount of assertive women and for the most part I haven't seen such issues. I work and deal with adults, not teenagers, so that probably plays a role.

I was one of the FTM crowd in my youth, years before tumblr made it as popular as it is today, and it clearly had to do with my personality being dominant and masculine, not traditionally feminine, and being ridiculed for it. I created a separate male identity which I adopted to my everyday life and to kind of "protect" myself from the threatening males who wanted to reduce me to being a cute, helpless girl I clearly wasn't and still am not.

It might sound like a made-up problem or exaggerating, but really, masculine and determined women are looked down upon just like feminine and gentle men are. Like female bosses are thought of as nagging bitches for displaying traits that would be regarded as good leadership skills for men. It gets better as you get older but these tumblr FTMs are teenagers, and especially during your teenage years a masculine woman is immediately labeled as a butch lesbian and needs to be shown how a woman should behave. It's not only the boys who do this either, other women partake in it too.

Whoa really? I personally got a lil creeped out by a few honestly. I avoid any "boy" who is waaaay to into yaoi but is obviously a chick. They always perv on how young twinks look and how they wanna be with em.
I'm not saying they are pedophiles. But a lot of the boys in yaoi are in their teens, perhaps why they themselves want to be seen as a young teen as well.

Also they are scared of real gay men, even if they are adorable. They fear their facade will come crumbling down. The safest option for them is to date another "ftm" yaoi obsessed pretty boy. That and gay men don't usually fall for their shit. There are plenty of gay men who will go for a ftm since some are fucking hot or they have an awesome personality.

however let me ask some of you this… how many of you would spend your time with a tumblr obsessed girl who was way into yaoi, tried to look like a 15 year old boy from an anime, attempts to drag you to cons to show you off, and wont stop talking about how they are soooo much like a fictional character you don't give a shit about.

It is fucking annoying. Because you aren't dating them, you're dating a dumb persona they made up so they can match a stereotypical version of a yaoi character.

Their ovaries must explode when they see a gay guy who is actually into yaoi. Must be great validation for them as well.

A lot is also attention. A pretty girl is a dime a dozen and isn't special. But a pretty boi is more rare and interesting within the anime community.
