No. 2615843

A thread for the discussion and debate of political theory, macro-level ideological and economic systems such as socialism, capitalism, anarchism, liberalism, etc. This is not the place for daily political news, current events, or discussion of contemporary political figures. Those belong in country-specific or news threads.
Historical politicians are fine to mention in the context of relevant ideologies (e.g. you can't really discuss Marxism without mentioning Marx).

Examples of relevant posts:
>Socialism bad. Human nature is too greedy to make it work.
>Capitalism is just Monopoly IRL and we’re all losing. I hate landlords.
>Took this garbage political compass quiz. Here’s what I got and why I think it's accurate/BS.

Examples of off-topic posts:
>Omg, people in the Middle East are fighting again.
>Nigel Farage is a goat fucker.
>Did you see what [insert modern politician] said? Proof society is doomed.

Debate is expected. Just don’t sperg out too much or be pointlessly inflammatory. Global rules like no racebait still apply.

I took this test when I was in highschool and my dot was in the lower green area instead of the upper green area. I used to be all for sexual degeneracy, communism, and prison abolition then I grew up and deleted Tumblr. I still strongly support women's rights and secularism. Has anyone else have their results change after they've grown as a person?

Here's mine. Some questions and their wording annoyed me like
>Do you think what two consenting adults do in the bedroom is not a concern of the state
I answered with agree but I still think it's important to care on a personal level. Like I wouldn't want to be around someone who pretends to be a rape victim in bed but I don't think they should be investigated over that. Then again, I'm not very political so most of this stuff doesn't make much sense to me.

Yeah, a lot of the questions are quite vague. I suppose they're just meant to be catch-alls so they can assign you a "good enough" place. I'm in the "likes free stuff but is afraid of politics" square apparently kek

>>2615937
Some of the questions were a little too broad. I put strongly disagree on that one because I hate kinky people lol. And I put agree on the same sex adoption one even though I think only lesbians should be allowed to.

Honestly this test only applies to American politics so it's impossible to apply to my own country. In my country we don't have rights we have liberties, meaning if there isn't a law against it, it's legal, so being asked about "my rights" is a non applicable question. Plus we never had 9/11 either so there was no mass surveillance hysteria to "curb counter terrorism".

Trying to answer these questions is like a Japanese nationalist asking me if I think Korea is a bad country and asking me who I think Takeshima island belongs to. Like what are you talking about kek none of that applies to me. I'm closing the thread.

Yeah. It's like when they ask if I think casual sex is immoral. Kind of weird because I don't necessarily think it's immoral, someone isn't bad for having casual sex, but I believe it's not good for mental or physical health

I just posted the first one I found on google search. Feel free to post your own or talk about literally anything else kek

I think the modern political landscape, mostly because of social media, has somehow got me not believing in democracy anymore, kek. I used to heavily criticize countries like Russia and China etc for heavily censorsing social media but watching the algorithm wreak havoc on western countries sometimes makes me reconsider if free speech (at least online) is all that worth it if it can be so easily manipulated. Just one look at any social media platform, you see it inundated with bots advocating some political agenda. That's not free speech either, that's…idk, entirely something else.

Speech is suppressed here more than most people think. We're not at China's level, but we're getting close with more tools of surveillances being put in place like palantir's database that is being made right now. At least China has good public transport and cheap healthcare

Yeah, democracy is kind of a joke and doomed to fail. It's too easy to brainwash huge amounts of people, there's too much economic dead weight voting for everybody else to take care of them, etc. I often think we should go back to only land owners having the vote or something like that.

No. 2616097

>>2616050
That's to extreme because then you have more midogyny issues (can a woman vote if her name isn't on the land deed?) and will make inheritance drama 100% more retarded as people start killing siblings for getting peepaws rusty shack.

sameanon, my feelings are basically
>fund the arts
>stricter borders
>trannies will never be women
>most prisoners can't be rehabilitated
>yes death penalty (kill all child molesters and rapists)
>the general public are idiots and most people need some authority figure to lead them

samefag as >>2615999 . anon, i put the same exact answers kekkk, and when i came across the question of support for the death penalty, i was also thinking “agree” because of pedos and rapists. my only qualm was “who/what determines which types of sick criminal behavior warrants the death penalty?”

that's what i thought about the surveillance/privacy part. i don't care if pedo's online traffic gets exposed, but then i thought about how internet privacy is important to women trying to hide from a stalker or could get doxxed for calling timmy correct pronouns

I would say I'm somewhat libertarian with both right and left characteristics
>abortion and gay marriage are ok, troons are a disaster
>free speech and muh freedoms and legal weed
>execute pedos and rapists as quickly as possible
>ok with some socialist programs, but think an overall capitalist society is ideal. Undecided on socialized healthcare
>Immigration should be tightly controlled, immigrants should behave as guests in their country and assimilate to a certain extent
>a lot of welfare/social programs have unintended effects and create multigenerational poverty instead
>taxes are too high and fund too many programs
>defense budget is out of control
>retirement programs and social security should be scaled back. The young are paying far too much to the old when it should be the reverse
