Mentally ill people shouldn't have kids. Seriously. Those epigenetics are real and even if they try their hardest to "mask" around their kid, the mento illness will show one way or another. Not consciously but sub or unconsciously.
Narcs and BPDs often breed more narcs and BPDs thanks to the cycle of abuse. In the uncommon chance the kid isn't, they still tend to qualify for a few traits if not full blown narc/bpd and a shit ton of trauma that fucks them up regardless, which won't be healthy for their kids should they have it. Also, it's not rocket science to say that mentally ill people attract their own kind and travel in packs because normal people think they're weird for obvious reasons. So the kid is gonna have two sets of mento illness.
Even traumafags should be discouraged from reproducing, the children tend to be born more neurotic. Hell, I'm full of that shit and there's no way I'm passing my tainted genetics to any poor child.

It feels awful saying these people shouldn't reproduce, but why would they want to subject someone to the same life they have? I was raised by a disabled mother who couldn't work, and I starved constantly and didn't have stable or safe housing for the entire duration of my childhood and adolescence because her disability made it impossible for her to drive or hold a job.

If they really think they can raise a child in a proper environment, I think they should just adopt. There's a ton of children with nothing wrong with them who need a home. Why would you willingly bring a child who will have a low quality of life into the world? They will either be intelligent enough to know they are different and missing out on the same lives everyone around them is living, or they will be like animals in human costumes who barely understand what's going on around them and will put the family into financial ruin through hospital bills.

I support voluntary free sterilization measures for anyone with genetic disabilities and involuntary sterilization for disabled people who have passed down any of their conditions one or more times. A friend of mine fought for years to get a tubal ligation because she has disabilities that are heritable and doctors kept rejecting her because "you're young, you'll change your mind". It's sickening that medical professionals would rather have two disabled people rather than one disabled person who does her best not to pass it to anyone else.

I do think if eugenics were more widespread a lot of people would use it to chose hair colors and eye colors, all stupid useless things. But the chance of NOT passing along a big illness, the chance not ruining more lives, a kid not having a personality disorder or physical condition that will make their lives miserable forever, I think some of it is worth it. I think the eye color hair color thing is meaningless and I don't like it. But it's better to select a healthy bunch of cells over a human being that will need surgeries and treatments for the rest of their lives.

I see it as an extension of natural selection even if it's manmade. It's more natural that women want a healthy kid, than whatever men are doing to make women submissive so they lower their standards and end up birthing more ugly balding men with a heart condition or something like that.

In my own experience, academia and highly technical fields are chock full of mild autists. The rigor and intensity of the fields filter out most severe autists, but I have run into one or two more profound ones that still managed to pull it off. But the concentration of Aspergery ones (probably 50% of a given group I’d work with is a safe bet) are what got me thinking about it in the first place several years ago: “how would the world be different if all the people in this room were born without the intense interest/passion/fixation that they have?
