When I was a kid we would do an egg hunt with the plastic eggs filled with candy in addition to 2-3 bigger gifts. I remember one year I got hamtaro ham ham heartbreak as part of my Easter presents for example. Everything was “hidden” around the yard so it was like a scavenger hunt finding all of your presents and putting them in your basket. Then for dinner we would have a fancier meal than usual like ham but nothing too extravagant like for Christmas.

Greek tradition is to spend it with family and roast a lamb on the spit in the backyard or bake it in the oven, crack dyed boiled eggs, eat greek food and pastries, and tsoureki (sweet braided bread) is important. It's super fun. there's also usually dancing. the night before you gather and light candles. there's fireworks on both days.

Go to church, sit around for a few hours, and then eat the most delicious food known to man, prepared for you by a legion of little old ladies who have perfected their craft over decades of Easter Sunday brunch competition.
