Fucking Kollegah. I've listened to him a few times and he really tries so hard with his whole ~law school education~ to be satirical, but doesn't get any better than Farid Bang and Haftbefehl with their constant
>tits whores drugs big cars big guns big dicks
bullshit.

It wouldn't surprise me that he's antisemitic. At least Sido and Bushido in the early 2000s were talking about being poor in a country that discriminates against being poor and of Arabian descent.

No. 243795

I just find it sad how Germany used to be the very leader in culture, cinema, everything and now I don't hear of anything remotely interesting or cool coming out of there. I even did German in school and now it just feels like a waste of time. Sorry Germany. You used to be so cool.

No. 243827

Maybe too specific: Is it just me or is German YouTube the actual worst? I guess popular YouTubers are usually shitty anyway but between Bibi and Apecrime it's just a fucking joke to me. I can't think of even 5 people that make cood content.

I actually don't think he's antisemitic, but being a misogynist is bad enough. Don't know about Farid Bang though, he seems even lower.
And Bushido is no angel either…
I hate that only rap music seems to be popular nowadays.

>>243795
Well, that's sad to hear, but i guess you're right. It's been a long time since any of our celebrities "have made it" outside of Germany, but i think that Rammstein are quite good.

>>243827
As a sister of a 13-year-old i wholeheartedly agree…
It's not even that they're pretty and doing makeup, instead it's only pranks, useless DIYs and "I bought/try/wear this and that!". Whenever i look on youtube trending it's some turkish guys who just talk about themselves or other boring shit, yet little kids love it.
Also, one of the worst are those 15-year-old twins, why are they so popular?

>At least Sido and Bushido in the early 2000s were talking about being poor in a country that discriminates against being poor and of Arabian descent.
Sido is german, not arab, and Bushido is threatening everybody left and right and even admits to beating his girlfriends, how is that better than supposedly saying something antisemitic?!

>Is it just me or is German YouTube the actual worst?

Is this why most German Youtubers have unusually high dislikes on their videos? I have seen some of their videos and don't follow them as their content isn't very entertaining / pretty average but that doesn't explain why people seem to dislike them so much, especially the female ones like Dagi Bee.

I used to be kind of a germaboo until I spent some time there. Loved grimm fairy tales as a kid, then as a teen, got heavy into goth music but never went there. The most attractive guy I have ever met in my life was a artist from Germany, lit he looked like a 6'3 blonde Naoko Takeuchi character come to life with the most amazing elegant long legs and long arms I've ever seen. I have a uncle who moved to Berlin in the 70s and I decided to go there last year. I thought I would land in a crazy cool euro city and go to raves and shit and be sourrounded by beautiful tall people with perfect cheekbones.

Got there and most people are normal height and boring looking, germans really quiet and file perfectly in line at the grocery store, american expats literally disgusting and made me ashamed to be from America. Ended up fleeing to my Uncle's house in the suburbs and he took me to Postdamm which was much better, but I was shocked how much I felt like I was in small town America. Never saw another hot tall german guy like the one who inspired me. Maybe I should go somewhere else besides Berlin? It seems like it's been totally taken over by disgusting druggie expats.

Did go through some turkish neighborhoods on the east and don't really know what the big deal is. Was weirdly clean and orderly for a "ghetto".

If you're American, then why is your english so… shit?

(Sadly) of course we're rather americanized and not any more attractive than other nations, but statistics show that we're definitely not just average height and like you saw yourself at least rather quiet and polite.

No. 245999

Anons, which is your fav German city?
I'm partial to Hamburg, I like the maritime feel, even if it's not actually on the sea, it's big with a lot going on and I just like the northern mentality (biased because from the north myself).
Leipzig is cool, too, and ashamedly, I think Munich is nice, it's quaint. If you have money I guess.

No. 246008

>>245999
I'm sorry but I think Leipzig is pretty ugly.
I prefer the maritime aligned ones like Hamburg and Bremen. Maybe it's because I originate from a smaller maritime city.
A city I really liked because of the nature etc. was Arnsberg. I've mainly only been to the upper parts of Germany, Leipzig was the lowest I've gone so far. Am rather of a poorfag but eh. Leipzig put me so off with all the mess going on. What the heck are all these ugly big pink pipes for and why aren't there enough traffic lights?

No. 246022

>>246008
The pipes is an east German thing, I think it's jarring and ugly too, east Germans claim to not even notice them.

I like some spaces in east Germany with Soviet architecture where they clearly set out to do something ambitious. Not the regular ugly commuter suburbs but sometimes they built little centers that today have a very retrofuturist feel. I guess that's not specific to east Germany but all former Soviet countries.

But generally I love little medieval town centers with colorful narrow streets and "Fachwerk" houses.

No. 246033

Google: Buntgarnwerke, Rosental, Plagwitz, Gohlis, Karli, Rathaus, …
But yeah, sure, Leipzig is sooo ugly!

No. 246053

Munich
>my favourite (maybe because i'm bavarian), beautiful old architecture, very clean, rich inhabitants (therefore everything is expensive, but also high class)

Nuremberg
>cute, but nothing special (also, i prefer baroque cities)

Berlin
>too "modern", kind of dirty

Dresden
>similar to Munich, but some areas are a bit dull/boring?

Personally I love the Ruhrpott and NRW in general I guess it's because I live here.
I always hear from friends, who aren't from here, that it's ugly and I partly agree but tbh that's also the charme.
Just google Industriepark Duisburg. I've been there once and I was amazed by it.
I also like the harsh tone that we have here.

Other than that I love Hamburg. It's very clean and the people are pretty chill as well.
Stuttgart is really lovely as well and the people are actually nice (r) from my experience.
Also Schwäbisch is hella funny to listen to.

No. 246552

About 5 years ago I started living in a German-speaking country (unfortunately not Germany, but I would happily move to Germany!). I'd do almost anything to stay here. (Yes, I'm fluent - I love the German language.) I don't know how realistic it is going to be to get a job in my field here though. I'm not an EU citizen and the prospect of going back to my birth country makes me incredibly sad. It is kind of frustrating what I have to go through to renew my permit every year, while I see all these others who clearly don't respect the country glide right through because they married someone with the right to live here.

I'm not into marrying for a residence permit, though.

The pink pipes are needed to drain construction sites from ground water. That's what you get for building a city in a literal swamp. I didn't know they had them in Leipzig too!

I like messy cities with a lot of water and green spaces. I lived in both Hamburg and Leipzig in the past and really liked both, but Berlin will always be my favourite city. The number lakes, parks, waterways and forests within the city limits alone is awesome, public transportation will get you everywhere and I like the mix of grand old buildings next to 70s public housing projects. "Downtown" Berlin is genuinely awful though.

>>246053
>Munich
I'm a northerner and couldn't live in Bavaria to be honest, but I'm lowkey jealous at how gorgeous the city is. It's the only formerly bombed out German city that can compete with small town Germany in that respect if you ask me.

Totally agree about Dresden though. It switches from Munich on a budget to Kingdom of Saxony Theme Park to Moscow suburb in no time. What a weird city.

I'm finishing my doctorate right now, so the question is whether I can get anything worth the amount of time invested in that, or whether I give up on my field and do something else.
