I know it's kind of a meme at this point, but I think BPD is overdiagnosed. Or at least, is the first thing suggested when there's probably something more complex going on. The symptoms seem so vague, and you only need 5 out of 9 to qualify for a diagnosis, so it could present very differently in people even if they both have BPD. And it makes me a little skeptical that many women who were diagnosed with it end up finding out later on in their life that they are neurodivergent. For me, I think unless someone is the kind of stereotypical presentation where they behave chaotic, extremely reckless and hurtful to others, I wouldn't think it's fair to slap the bpd label on someone.
