Do you straighten your hair a lot? Do you dye it a lot at home?
How's your hormones? Did you mention this to your doctor?
No. 2159
>>2158Well I've had a not so good diet but since I've decided to go to a gym (a month and half ago) I've started to eat more healthy (basically more protein, fats mostly from healthy sources like nuts and carbs mostly from vegetables and fruits)
I am not sure if I get enough vitamin D and now I realize I should be taking it since I live in an area that's cloudy/rainy during winter. How does it help when it comes to hair?
I never dyed my hair and I curl it once in two weeks (sometimes even less).
I haven't mentioned it to the doctor, I guess I could.

>>2287I had 18" hot fusion hair extensions a few years ago because I was impatient growing my hair out (I had made the mistake of bleaching it myself a year before and it was still damaged as hell and wouldn't grow past my shoulders). I only kept them in for 3 months before having them taken out forever. They were way too much upkeep, and while they looked absolutely beautiful for the first few weeks, they got ratty-looking pretty fast and at that point it gets obvious it's not your real hair and sections will start sliding out. I kept going back to get more put in. It was just a huge hassle that I didn't want to deal with, so I finally had them removed. I didn't even realize how suffocated my scalp felt until they were gone. My hair was a good 2 inches shorter after them too, because they pull so much. That said, once they were removed, my hair grew like a weed. That was about 2 years ago, now my hair is the length the extensions were - I don't know if they just managed to break off all the damaged parts or what.
All in all, I don't recommend them. They're expensive ($800 to have them put in alone - $400 for the hair itself and $200 an hour for application)and require a lot of care. Maybe I just REALLY sucked at caring for them, but I would never do it again unless I had a personal stylist to do my hair every day.

Oh god, guys. I've made a huge mistake.
Last summer I had longish blonde hair. I wish I would have just grown it out, never colored it. It would probably be down to my ties now an healthy and cute.
Instead, I fucked it up with three bad due jobs, and now that I'm on my fourth and final one I seriously never want to color my hair again (or cut it.)
Seriously guys, I look like a super pale Stephanie from Lazy Town. My hair is so ugly. It's a magenta pink bob. My new hairdresser convinced me to do it and now I can't stand to look in the mirror (and it was hard even before this.)
I'm hoping I can just grow it out and hopefully it will fade to something peachy while my ash brown roots grow in. Ugh. This was a terrible decision.
I know that the best thing to do to grow out your hair is to treat it kindly. No heat, no dye, and lots of conditioning. I have coconut oil and apple cider vinagar, as well as it's a 10!. I'll probably end up getting a trim in a couple months, but otherwise I will stay away from the scissors. Do you guys have any other tips?
Also, tips for going about life when you've ruined your hair and are super self conscious about it?
Sorry, I just had to spill about how awful I feel about my hair. It's really just terrible. T_T I feel like I stand out way too much but no one takes me seriously at the same time.

Hopefully it will end up something like pic related in about four months. Maybe it won't be too awful, after a while. I know I don't have the confidence for short, brightly colored hair. Lesson learned. @_@

>>2932I had horrible hair a twice in my life. Once I cut it way too short, the other time it was a bad dye job, that I tried to salvage on my own and ended up frying my hair.
The way I dealt with it is that I saw it as a tough lesson for the future, to be more careful about what I do to my hair. It's also character building, to rock a brave style like that, even though inside you don't want to be a short haired punk or a magenta girl.
I had a friend that wore extensions after her hair disaster (the hairdresser cut it way too short) but those are a bit ghetto and expensive.

Thank you both, this gives me hope. I really don't want to touch it anymore ;~; it already feels soooo crunchy. (The sad part was I bleached it already and asked to try to make it white/ash blone but my hairdresser convinced me to try pink.. Sigh.) I hope that this will teach me a lesson to stop fucking with my hair. Maybe I need to put a picture of some girl from Game of Thrones on my bathroom wall just so I have something to keep pushing me to be patient.
Hopefully I can rock it, haha. I know it's considered shit to post a picture of yourself here, but I'd love any opinion on salvaging this mess in the short term (like some way to style it ect.) I know the only real solution is growin it out ;~; but I trust you all to be brutally honest about how it looks and how I could possibly improve it. Thank you bros.

I got out some of the blue dye by mixing my shampoo with baking soda. I've also heard that Head&Shoulders shampoo and other dandruff/clarifying shampoos work much better to strip the color out of your hair, but I didn't try those. I was impatient and just decided to get it all bleached out. You definitely do not want to do that because I had to cut off almost 6 inches of hair afterwards and there were still chunks of bright shamrock green left in my hair.

>>2981I'm sorry to be posting (again.) I just can't stop thinking about my hair, probably because there are a bunch of other things stressing me the fuck out right now and this is the only part of my existence I feel is have some sort of control over.
I think I'm just going to go over it with some sort of light brown/neutral brown demi color. I may leave the bottom pink, even just to save on color costs. I also am going to set up a hair appointment with my step mom. She's a feriocious cunt and has done some very shitty things to me recently so I've been avoiding her as much as possible, but she can cut hair like no other person I've ever found. I'm going to try to cut off all the damage and just start anew.
For anyone else who is trying to get rid of unnatural color, I'll post about my results with Demi-permanent dyes tomorrow or the next day. And hopefully get my hair cut as well. After this, I want to try to grow my hair out as long as possible. I'd love for it to be hip length some day. I want to start a pact with someone else to grow our hair to Game of Thrones levels, ha.
I haven't slept for two days because I'm so stressed. I'm getting evicted from my apartment because three of my roommates are completely unwilling to pay rent this month and expect me and my boyfriend to do it. I owe over $1,000 in bills (that are in my name) because of said roommates. I'm struggling in school and trying desperately to find a job, but I still haven't heard back yet. I'm a complete wreck. I suggest doing it before you demi dye it. It will strip the dye out otherwise.
Anyhow, its pretty amazing. I have normal straight caucasian hair but its great for curly and ethic hair too. Be warned that if you do use it, it does smell awful and your hair will look like it is covered in hardened snot. Just don't overdo the protein.

Cut a considerable amount of the bad color out and then just moisturize and protein it up. Don't cut your hair unless you are getting rid of streaky/spotty/dingy old dyed hair. I cut my hair chin length and one more time for a whole year. It was worth it. Now I just demi dye it one or two shades from my natural color when I need a change. It always fades back to my old color.
