I have a lot of funny burglar stories, in the 80’s my grandma’s bestie was burgled but since she was poor there wasn’t much to steal and the guy literally took a shit on her kitchen table. Apparently that was a thing back in the day, like a fuck you for being poor.

When i was 10 or so a bunch of thiefs followed my dad's car to my mom's house, where he was going to pick me up, and pointed a gun to my dad's head to rob his car. I ran away crying and screaming to a neighbour's house. It was fucking horrifying and traumatizing but i remember my 10yo self being pissed off that i still had to go school the day after.

My grandparents got robbed because they left their small bathroom window open. Apparently no one noticed probably more than one man literally climbing around the 3rd story building facade at 12am. The police also did absolute dog shit, they didn't take any evidence or any investigative measures. They merely went through the wrecked apartment, looked at the window and went "yup, they used this".
