Discuss the Pink Tax, gendered marketing, fast fashion, industries that prey on women's insecurities (make-up, fashion, cosmetic surgeries), obsessive "self care" fads centering around consooming, streaming services, subscriptions, etc. Anything that relates to consooming stuff we don't really need through some form of marketing campaign or FOMO that only benefits big companies that prey upon women goes here. Also discuss how to live a life with less / no unnecessary products, how to not fall for advertisement, etc.
Your personal mileage may vary so please don't infight!
For more general consoom topics, hoarding and material collections use the current consoom thread:

>>2067391Honestly I'm pretty sure the primary point of this ad campaign youtube spam is to get the brand name in people's heads, not to sell the full body deodorant. The ad is made to piss people off on purpose because people remember things better when they feel strong emotions. Even if they don't seek out this product specifically or remember the brand right now, maybe a few years down the line when they need to buy soap at the store they'll see a soap made by this brand and be subconsciously drawn to it because the name has been stuck in their head, even if they don't remember from where.
Then obviously if the ad makes some women insecure enough to think they need full body deodorant, that's great too, and I'm sure that there are many women who fall for it. But there's a reason why all major companies spend billions of dollars on advertising a year, it's to keep brands occupying your brain 24/7, even if it's tucked away into a subconscious area you'll still be more biased to something you're familiar with

Regarding marketing FOMO, Gisou’s marketing is so aggressive. Vidrel is by an influencer who was invited on a brand trip. She is showing her suitcase filled with stuff given by Gisou. The brand also sends these huge PR mini fridges. It’s truly insane and incredibly wasteful. But it also works… I had a dream about their mini fridge last night and can’t deny I am envious of the girl in vidrel because all of it is just so cute! They have an offer on their website where you can make a chance to win one of those fridges if you buy a certain amount worth of products also. I almost went to buy one of their oils since so many people seem to use it, but the ingredients really don’t seem to be anything special. 100% marketing. Deleted and reposted because I linked the wrong video

Anyway, I don't get how deodorant is related to this thread. Men are expected to wear it too.
