I feel really bad about this, but during my freshman orientation we were abruptly asked to form groups and give a presentation on something and one of the guys in my group was Japanese and seemed to have learned english veeery recently, to the point where everything was pronounced rike dis. I laughed when it was his turn to speak and I was standing right next to him, Everyone looked at me because I'm one of those people who laughs like the image provided here. My best friend was in the front row and she shook her head because she saw how hard I was trying to hold it in and just ended up looking even more racist.

Yeah.
I usually like whatever
>>19790 is calling post-modern anime plus some indie stuff, SOLs, and over the top action stuff a la Gurren Lagann. (Somewhat recent stuff I've really liked is Kyousougiga, Uchouten Kazoku, Shin Sekai Yori, Space Dandy, and Ping Pong)
Haven't followed much anime lately though. It's been a pretty disappoint year. I've maybe liked Hibike Euphonium and bits of Yuri Kuma and Rolling Girls.
I don't really mesh with the greater anime fandom though since most of my interest lies in the animators and directors.

I really like guro manga. Junji Ito, SHintaro Kago, Edogawa Rampo, Toru Yamazaki… not so much Kazuo Umezu though.
If anyone's interested I can send you scans that I've collected over the years!

>>19983Indeed I do! Junji Ito's art style tends to be a little samefacey, which actually works for Tomie. The pitfall of having an extraordinarily beautiful character in a visual medium (as opposed to just words) is avoided when all the female characters have the same features anyway, which unfortunately can't be said for the movies.
The plots got a little boring after a while though. My favourite chapter is the one with the Tomie that was just a kidney with arms and legs. I enjoyed Mimi no Kaidan a lot more.

>>19981I'm really into Junji Ito and Shintaro Kago. This is the first I'm hearing of Toru Yamazaki or Edogawa Rampo though, they look neat. Do you have any scans of their stuff? I'd love to check them out!
Also, do you like Usamaru Furuya + Suehiro Maruo, by any chance?

>>19997Not sure what Yamazaki is doing these days, but check out Octopus Girl. Have you read Franken Fran?
Edogawa Rampo is not a visual artist, but his works have heavy influence on many other ero guro artists. In fact, two of my favourite works by Maruo, Mushi and The Strange Tale of Panorama Island, are adaptations of Rampo's work. I don't remember what I have exactly, but put your email in your next post and I'll send what I dig up.
Furuya's great! Short Cuts is definitely one of my favourite light reading mangas.

I've only seen a few caps from Franken Fran. It looks great, but I haven't really taken the time to read it yet. Is it as top tier as everyone says?
The Strange Tale Of Panorma Island has been on my must-read list for a while now, lel.
And fffs I love Short Cuts. The Sonomi strips were my favorite. Did you like Harem End, if you've read it?

>>20245Pardon the delay, I ended up deciding to upload my entire collection (minus a few folders with just one-off pieces) to google drive, so you should have the notification soon. Most stuff is labelled/credited correctly (too lazy to rename everything according to my own preferred filenames), excuse any mess or repeat files. Feel free to ask me about any series if Google doesn't clear it up.
Franken Fran is great! It's a little like Pet Shop of Horrors or Nightmares for Sale in that it has formulaic chapters, but it swaps the pretty manga people for an interesting overall plot with more likeable characters (Fran and her staff, as well as many one-appearance characters) and is more based in science, kind of like how Shintaro Kago takes a whimsical proposition and runs with it to absurdity, but it stops and ground itself before becoming too unrealistic. Goes by really fast. Also, it ended unexpectedly due to publisher issues, but I think the ending is satisfying for what we got to see in terms of character development.
I loved Harem End, but I thought the plot started dragging a little around the time we found out about FREAKERS.

God, I'm such a weeb. I try to keep my power level hidden as well as I can, but honestly that's more from growing up shy and self aware than it is from a desire to hide my power level. I've been into it since I was a kid, as I grew up watching yugioh/ Inuyasha/Pokemon/Naruto and whatever other stuff was on Adult Swim. My cousin introduced me to manga at a very young age, I was probably 5 or 6 or something.
I bought the heck out of those "how to draw Manga" books during book fair, and I'd hold manga drawing lessons in the back corner of the class room during break with my friends. I collected little Japanese tea sets, and would buy Asian looking garments to wear at school during dress down days. Gaiaonline was my life from age 9. I'd buy Shonen Jump Magazine every time I went to block buster. I'd read manga from the school library, especially that one cooking one (since I loved to cook).
During middle school I switched to public school and was made to throw away my weeby interests. I packed up all of my Shonen Jump and Manga, and set them in a box in the garage. Before high school I met my boyfriend who had anime interests and got back into it. I joined anime club(even though I was too socially aware to be super weeby. I was pretty and got hit on by the older boys in club. A vid of me doing Carameldansen for the club still exists out there somewhere), began packing bento boxes for myself. I went to my first convention around this time and discovered Lolita fashion.
As an adult I think I'm more weeby now, since I have money and more time and less depression to invest into my interests. I dance to weeby dances for exercise, am interested in many Japanese fashions, and watch anime all day. I listen to a lot of Jpop and have gotten into vocaloid. I've begun my figurine collection. I have my first REAL husbando, and intend on getting a body pillow of him ASAP. I entered a career field that would give me infinite time to myself and good money so that I may go to as many conventions as possible. I play a lot of yugioh. I love feeling and looking cute. I get told that my face looks "anime", so I intend on enhancing that look heavily. Idk man, this shit just makes me super happy. I don't have enough lives to care about how my happiness affects others, so long as I'm not hurting anybody.

>>21046Massage Therapy. If you go to people's houses to massage you can charge $75 an hour minimum, and you set your own schedule. Even if you only work two hours a day five days a week you still end up with 3k a month before expenses. Obviously there are much better careers, but for where I'm at in my life right now I'm happy. I really recommend it honestly, it's very calming and great if you're introverted like me.
>>21045I feel this so hard. Before I left club I actually told everybody that they had to start acting more respectable and show that the club was something to be proud of (our school was about to remove the program at the time).
