How many?
What food/brands do you feed them?

I have a few cats, I make my own food for them because I don't trust any brands.

Do you grow it yourself and let them hunt or do you raw?

You can cook them yourself, here is some recipes I use.

I sometimes buy normal dry food when I'm short on money though. Here is the other one.

I find that my cats love Royal Canin for dry food, as for ingredients I just buy them in bulk from my local market.

No problem, home cooked food is much more healthier for pets to be honest. I try to avoid buying it as much as I can.

Most definitely, curious if anyone else here has any kind of exotic pets and their diets.

I used to have an African Pygmy hedgehog and her diet was comprised of high quality catfood (some like duck and pea flavor–can't remember the brand. It wasn't wellness but Nature something?), meal worms, scrambled eggs, and canned sweet potatoes/pumpkin.

Now I have a dog so she just gets decent dry food (she didn't do well on the "higher end" or the grain free stuff) and for treats she gets boiled chicken, carrots, bananas, and natural peanut butter.

Hedgehogs eat cat food? Never would have guessed.
Thanks for the reply, was hoping more farmers would want to talk about our furry friends but I guess the thirst for milk never ends.

I have 3 ferrets. They have ferret food, because it has to be a certain level of fat and protein (they are obligate carnivores, like cats, in the wild). But I also give them chicken baby food, which they love. They do a little happy dance when I start getting their plates out. So cute! They're my little babies.

I also have 2 cats, a gecko, a cockatiel (my kid has the gecko and cockatiel, actually) and fish. I guess we have quite a zoo!

I have a ferret as well! he just tuned 4 months a few days ago, his bday is on christmas actually! I never would've thought to give him chicken baby food though I'll have to try it! Are ferrets supposed to be chubby? He gets a bowl of marshalls ferret food a day but hes such a little porker and I can't tell if its normal.

I think boy ferrets must be a little chunkier than girl ferrets. My little guy ferret is much broader, and also a lot lazier than my girls, but he is Mr Chill, so that's just his personality. I think some are just little chunksters. As long as he's playful and interactive I wouldn't worry too much.

I like giving them the baby food, it's a good treat, and it's also really good for them when they're sick. They'll eat that when they don't eat anything else. It's also really good for their fur, they were so soft and fluffy this winter.

Do you know any tips for getting them to eat meat/treats etc? my baby refuses to eat anything that isnt his normal food and its upsetting because i want to be able to reward him with treats. I bought some banana flavored ones but when he didnt eat them I thought maybe he wanted another flavor so i bought bacon ones and he didnt eat that either, then today i tried to give him some chicken and he wouldnt eat it :(

Well, with the baby food (Gerbers Stage 2 chicken and gravy, turkey is ok too) I put a little on my finger and put it up near their mouth to lick off. They git the ideaf pretty quickly, and it's great because you can mix medicationin with it after they get to like it, so you can feed the medication in a non-traumatic manner. Treats are a little harder because it seems to be a texture thing with mine. Like, they won't even think about moist treats, but they LOVE the crunchy cat's food. I've used high protein cat treats they'd take, but baby food is the best bribe to get them to cone out of hiding or whatever. Although with the crunchy treats, i would shake the bag and they'd come, which comes in handy. I'd try something crunchy, hold him in your lap when he's feeling chill and happy, and just try letting him smell it and get him interested in it and see what happens.

Aw ferret friends! I only have one ferret now, she is about 10. She's been going downhill a bit recently, but I'm happy she has lived this long. My boy had to be put down due to cancer when he was 5 sadly.

Haha. My vets tells us to brush our cat's teeth, then admits that his own cat won't let him brush the cat's teeth. My cats would take my fingers off for even thinking about it.
