>You will never live in a cottage together with your husband out in the wilderness, raising a few animals and growing crops for yourselves

>You will never feed little lambs and see how they grow up.

>You will never spend your evenings at a fireplace after a day of honest and emotionally fulfilling work, kissing and cuddling each other.

>You will never brew tea in the morning, as the sun rises and look outside your window seeing your husband chopping wood.

;___; Why even live

Hey, it's Ok anon. We'll always have Harvest Moon.

1-2 are hard but the others are doable. Taking care of livestock is a lot of dirty work, like you need to shove your hand in cow asses to check them for issues. Harvest moon all the way bb

Marry a mongolian farmer?

Man do I love it when sheltered idiots romanticize agrarianism. Growing crops isn't like your facebook games. A couple of weeks of bad weather will destroy several months of work and will starve you and your livestock. The luxury of staying awake after a day's work is done and being still indoors during sunrise doesn't exist.

lmao shut up. I grew up on a farm and it was work like any other, yeah it's hard but so are other jobs. There's this thing called technology so you can sit on a machine while it ploughs your field for you or ring a vet to shove their own hand into a cow's arse for you. In fact you're legally obligated to do so. And any farmer worth their salt is also a capable entrepreneur with employees and suppliers.
What's actually difficult is finding farming supplies that aren't laden with all kinds of weird chemicals that make you sprout tits at age 6 and sustaining the crops without them, especially if you live in a harsh climate with poor soil and nothing but rock.

Nobody serious churns their own butter or milks their own cows anymore.

lmao look at this anti gmo nonsense; it makes you look like a nutter

But that isn't the life OP is talking about, they wish they lived in the wilderness growing enough to just live on, a couple weeks of really shitty weather would ruin that because the chances are if you're only growing smaller amounts of food you aren't going to have full farm equipment or the savvy to have a back up plan.

There's a difference between industrial farming and the pastoral fantasies of the traditional agrarian lifestyle and OP's obviously referring exclusively to the latter you fucking autist.

Just get a bunch of rescued farm animals in your yard.

My childhood! ;_;

Except we raised horses and a few chickens instead of sheep. My dad did a lot of engine repair too.

You can have this life op, it's in appalachia It exists there now, if you want it. Best not to romanticize it too much tho; My mom is one of those irrepressibly cheery people that sings while shovelling shit. She has a small garden but we never subsisted solely on our own produce. Most of my protein came from fish & venison. Hope you won't miss trader joe's.

Me on the other hand– I HATE chopping wood. My dad got a hydraulic log splitter when I was 11 and I could've kissed the old bastard.

You will never have money.

The local schools will be shit.

Your kids will either leave when they grow, or become unemployed pillheads. I left.

It leaves a dude in a weird spot. I hate cities and throngs of people, but there's no money or work at home. Choose wisely. And make sure your kids have access to shittons of books and the inclination to read them all.

>Go visit my grandma
>She needs help with her garden
>Work half a day long in dirt under scorching sun
>Job done, now i can go to swim at lake
>Get some berries on the way back
>Spend evening drinking coffe with milk, and playing table top games.
>next day, repeat

When i get back to my parents, i'm tanned and fit 10\10 qt.
All that hard work in dirt worth all the good things that come with it.

Idk where you live Anon but that's not completely out of the question in some countries in Europe. A lot of my family live in small towns/villages in Germany and the main breadwinner (or both spouses) commute into the city by car or train and then have their cottage style home. On weekends they go hiking and have chickens and rabbits and stuff to take care of. The retired ones take it a step further and go mushroom hunting and chop wood and stuff all the time. It's very sweet and relaxing, I intend to do it when I get settled down with a decent job eventually.

This sounds like the best of both worlds.

What's stopping you really? In some western countries at least this has become a bit trendy from what I've heard.

It's hard though.

Also can't help you with finding a hubby.

You can absolutely do it OP! Or even if it isn't 100% feasible for you, there are actually many places (at least in my country USA) where you can live maybe 20 minutes from the next town and have a good house and a chunk of land for very cheap, and that way you can balance keeping animals and growing your own crops and living a fairly rural life, with still being able to drive over to town and get any supplies and such that you need or want. Just keep moving forward and I believe you can live a life like you want one day!
