And here's a thread dedicated to fawning over yaoi.
So what are you nerds reading, atm?

Not reading anything at the moment… but playing through P3 again after a long time makes me realize how much I like AkiShinji.

It offends me how little nice art there is of them.

Any recommendations for reading, though?

I like BL games.
Who /hadaka shitsuji/ here?
Who /dramatical muder/ here?
Who /sweet pool/ here? (never finished this one thanks to that one glitch where you can only save at a certain point and basically have to finish the rest of the game in one sitting unless you're cool with reading everything over and over again, remembering all your choices, etc)

no homo but oh shit I used to follow DRRR few years back, read the novel translations (up to that volume that's izaya centric) so sorry for OT but what's been going on lately?

I try my best to sum up what happen
So pretty much izaya and shizou had a final battle and toward the end izayas arms and legs I believe were broken thanks to shizou but Verona also helped to defeat izaya. Then a group saved izaya and escaped etc…
And here a sum of the izaya sunset novel from translated Japanese tweets

Jesus christ I cant believe there's no mention of No, Thank You!!! in this thread.

Then again, there's no mention of Ai No Kusabi either, which is sad because it's a goddamn classic.

But just for some input: I finished NTY months ago and I'd really recommend it, but it's pretty fucked up. I've also got all eight volumes of Ai No Kusabi, and I'd recommend those even more than NTY.

Ohhhh…I read It, story broke my heart but it was good

Can anyone recommend a manga/novel were it was angsty/bitter sweet/slice of life/funny/stupid uke etc..
Some of the titles I'd enjoy reading were (not in order)
*hako no naka (really sad,but touching)
*saezuru tori wa habatakanai
^plus her others works
*tencount
*natsume isaku's work (ameiro paradox is my fav)
*date maou-sama
That what I could think of for now >.<

angsty + bittersweet? if you also like kinky stuff i'd really really recommend Ai No Kusabi. There are like eight books in the series (Novel, not manga but there are illustrations) and it's so descriptive. The author is super creative imo and its basically science-fiction but with more gays and more angst. Hell, read it even if you're into shit like 50 shades of gray, I'm not gonna judge. But goddamn I'll recommend AnK until the day I die.

Well I'm not into 50 shades of grey lel, but I'll take your word on the series. Time to hunt files now!

lmao i'm not into 50sog either tbh, i tried reading it like once and i found that i'd honestly prefer edward cullen over christian grey and that's coming from someone who has a very deep hatred for twilight.

the only thing i'd have to say about ank is while i personally find the author's writing style to be amazing, some people dont like it. it was written in the early 80s, maybe even the 70's, and the writing style of the book really reflects that. it's written in what's called "tanbi" and at the time it was considered a very high literary style and the author of ank was actually called the master of it, but it's fallen out of practice because it usually ends up a little wonky once translated.

in addition, for the first few books the main couple is SUPER-ANGST MCGEE because one of the characters is downright fucking scary and feels little to no emotion (there's a huge speculation that he's an android) and the other is a free-spirited hothead, but over the books they both have amazing character growth and personally i think its worth the long read to see how the characters and the world around them develops.

wow sorry for the text wall jfc but idk i feel its important to know that stuff before going hardcore into the series because for the first few books it's kinda hard to get a grip on but once you fall in love with it you fall hard lmao.

isn't there a short anime of that? like it's not the whole story, just the beginning. i watched it. not the older one the newer one with the pretty art.

No. 19358

>>19357
there is actually, but personally i didnt like the anime too much because it left out a lot of plot details and absolutely ruined the character of iason mink.

anime iason is too kind and empathetic. in the books it's the best part of his character growth because he starts off cold, unfeeling, and sadistic, and has to struggle with his android nature and his humanity + learn how to be a decent person. which he does in the end, but the anime just rips that away from him and among other plot holes the anime kinda fucked shit ip.

tl;dr the anime butchered one of the main character's development, has a bunch of plotholes, and is only really good for people curious about the general jist of the series because the books are infinitely better.

lmao idk im a pretty legit person so im not gonna hold it on a pedestal because it has flaws like every piece of writing and not everyone will like itt, even though it's one of my favourites and honestly the best yaoi saga i've ever read.

but yeah tbh the anime isnt that great. it's even less deserving of the pedestal lmao.

I liked the anime but mostly for how it looked tbh lol. I never read the books sooo I those other things about the plot didn't bother me. But I wanted it to keep going……T_T)
