Hey,

I don't have any IRL friends so I was hoping for some advice here. My psychologist recommended a hypnotism session in order to look into period I find difficult to talk about. Being interested in the idea (erotically) I jumped on the idea, but now I am worried because I don't actually know what I am in for. The session is for the 28th of Jan. Anybody here experienced it or have knowledge of it?

Basically:

I hear it is a lot of breathing exercices, an acquaintance said it was more about word games

>What is the experience like?
I've heard everything from "didn't remember" to "I remember being talked to then suddenly bursting into tears"

Anything I should know?

I'm too lazy to find you any sources, that's kind of your job anyway, but I wanted to highlight that "memories" gained from hypnosis are usually bullshit.
There's a reason it's not standard practice. Just look at how when it stated to be used in the 70s/80s all of those unsubstantiated child abuse cult stories bubbled up without any breakthroughs.

Sure, maybe it might work sometimes but if there's even 30 percent chance that it's all brainwashing and lies, why take that chance?

My boyfriend did erotic hypnosis on me, he did a guided visualization thing about a warm summer day we might have in the future where I was- surprise, pregnant and he started toying with my body. I didn't feel the things he described so much but it was very relaxing and really lewd.

That aside if you're doing it to explore a traumatic subject I doubt it would be at all like that.
