Ugh, the anime ending was REALLY unsatisfying, so I've started the manga. I really love the art, but I could do without the BL fanservice characters.

Same anon.

I feel like I'm really late to the party on this one and it's like a fail shounen that should've gone mainstream, but didn't. Anyway, I'm on volume 10 of Blue Exorcist. The anime was fucking watered down and the ending was probably one of the worst I've ever seen. I'm still in it for the RinxShiemi, though.

I have a few, so I'll be posting a couple of times.

Good Ol Kaiji, my pointy husbando. I won't lie though, most manga hosts have incomplete chapters etc and I personally think the anime is much better, but the manga still has a lot of charm.

Apocolypse No Toride
One of the BEST zombie survival manga I have ever read. I get angry cause it's so damn good. I cried for ages once it finished. It's also super funny at parts. But if your feels are delicate, be warned

Patalliro is one of the weirdest manga I've ever read and it's pretty dated but holy shit I love it so much. It's got a weird pedo feel and there's a lot of yaoi but it's still hilarious. I just love Maya Mineo but I love Patalliro everything.

"Life" will always have a special place in my heart. It's so good.

>Life (Japanese: ライフ Hepburn: Raifu?) is a shōjo manga series created by Keiko Suenobu, a manga creator well known for her work on Vitamin and Happy Tomorrow. Life was serialized in Bessatsu Friend, a publication of Kodansha, and deals with many controversial topics such as self-mutilation, bullying, rape, suicide, and manipulation. In 2006, it won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo

Is it a romance too?

I like manga from Nishioka Kyoudai, especially their short stories from Sadness of the Heart. Journey to the End of the World is also really good, and I also heard that they made one or two short adaptations of Kafka stories. A lot of people seem to find them from God's Child but it's an edgefest and really not their best.

Inio Asano draws that way intentionally, it's meant to look funny.

My absolute numero uno favorite manga is Saikano. The art wasn't that great, but the story had me crying a few times. The anime toned it down too much and was far too short.

I'm also a JoJofag, so there's that. Steel Ball Run is my favorite part.

I love Innocent so much for its art. It started out slow and sameface at first, but it picked up pace.

Gonna check this one out!

My favourite zombie manga (or zombie anything, really) is definitely I am a hero. The plot is fairly basic zombie apocalypse shit but the art is goddamn gorgeous, the characters are interesting and completely different from any other manga characters ever and just all of it is just so immersive, scary, funny and heartbreaking.
A warning though, it's still ongoing and waiting for the new chapters to release is agonizing.

>with its own style

no offense, but I just looked this up and it's really about as generic 'anime' style as you can get. idk what kind of manga you've been reading if you think this is something special.
try Jing: King of Bandits if you want to see great art. The Twilight Tales series in particular is a masterpiece. it's fascinating to observe how much the artist improved over the course of the series, now I just wish I could find more of his work.

half romance I'd say, the two characters are probably going to end up with romantic feelings for one another, but it's not the focus of the manga. It's very much about the fairy tales and legends.
Give it a shot! It's only 4 volumes so far.

So I don't know why but I have a soft spot for delinquent type mangas or mangas with yakuza. A couple of my favorites are Angel Densetsu (#1), Kyou kara Ore wa!!, Gokusen, QP, and Oyaji. Angel Densetsu made me laugh so goddamn much and I'm not even sure why. I guess I like mangas that have people with scary faces.

Oh I know what you mean! I was so sad that they didn't do more with the anime. Everyone always say they love it but I guess it's not as popular as it seems.

Koe no Katachi is a good one too. So many feels though. Makes me worn out reading stuff like that sometimes.

On another note, I always wondered why Medaka Box's anime didn't continue. They ended it right when the best character shows up! Sometimes I like to reread it but start when Kumagawa enters the story.

I just got a copy of Dolis in the mail and I was surprised by how nice it is, all of the pages are printed with accent colors and the art's great. I wish more manga by Maki Kusumoto was published in english.

I've also got the Darkside Blues manga coming in the mail and I had ordered a copy of Danza but it turned out to be the Japanese edition. I haven't read it yet but I've liked everything else by Natsume Ono that I've read so far.
