Hello, /g/. I'm in a bit of a pickle.

I have to move in around two weeks, and I need to sell the majority of my clothing and unopened makeup/skincare products before I do so. I have a few new pieces with the tags still on, like a $70 Urban Outfitters dress.

What sites can I sell clothing and beauty products on to maximise my profits? What are some tips relating to this? I should note, I don't have any social media, so I can't advertise with any friends or followers. If there aren't any sites I can feasibly sell from within two weeks, what are the best options for selling clothing to shops IRL?

Everyone else – post your own questions about selling your girly stuff online, share your experiences, and answer questions from other farmers.

Use the Mercury app if you're in tthe US.

Excellent suggestion, made an account. Thank you, anon. I like this the best of any of the buying/selling apps I tried before this.

Maybe I'm a tard, but the only result I'm getting for Mercury app is the web browser. Anyone want to give me a link?

It's actually called 'Mercari.'

Thank you, it does look pretty good. Lord knows I've got a bunch of crap to pawn off.

I prefer depop to mercari. Mercari just doesn't work as well in the West as it does in Japan. From what I've seen, depop is way more popular over here. If your makeup is unopened you should be able to sell it there.

Will check that one, too, thanks!

i prefer depop as well. just comment on other people's pages and use your hashtags wisely, give your shop a vibe or a story that people can connect to and you should do fine

OP here. I sold $64 worth of old video games on Mercari already. Haven't even got to clothing and makeup yet, but it looks like I'm going to have the same luck.

Depop sounds interesting, but the social aspect makes me nervous. I'm not a very cute person, I'm a chubby legbeard with a serious aversion to selfies. I would be extremely uncomfortable posting pictures of me modelling the clothing, as seems to be the norm on the site.

I'll give Depop a try tomorrow, though, once I get started going through my clothing and makeup products. I might try only selling my makeup through Depop so that I don't have to actually put my body in a picture.

One interesting thing I learned so far is that putting
>RETAIL PRICE: __
>MY PRICE: __
in the description is quite literally an automatic way to sell things. I experimented a bit with the inexpensive games I sold. Regardless of how good a price I was actually offering, those items all immediately sold, while popular items that were seriously underpriced went unsold.
To further confirm this, I deleted and relisted one of the underpriced popular items, raising the price by $15, and adding the 'RETAIL vs. MY PRICE' description. It sold within five minutes.

That might seem extremely obvious, that a description like that would appeal to people, but I'm fucking baffled at how it has had a 100% success rate so far.

It's a psychological thing. Underpriced items signal that something is wrong with the item, even if there's really not.
