These look nice. You should get them, unless the price is not reasonable. I would't pay for these more than 60 bucks.

Been contemplating buying a classic black pair of Doc Martens but I'm not sure. Any good alternatives in a similar style that don't make me look like a total hipster?

No. 168638

>>168637
I think you shouldn't NOT buy because of "looking" like this

I would go for their more slimmer boots.? not such a round toe. for the $$$(they have good sales too-up to 40% off official store) you really can't beat the quality… really do last a lifetime.

There are so many better looking combat boots out there that you can get for cheaper. Not only are Doc Martens hipster but skinheads were wearing them before hipsters so you might want to watch out for that stereotype as well.

No. 168640

>>168639
Unless you look like a skinhead, nobody is gonna bother you for wearing DMs. Literally nobody. They're extremely popular and easily recognizable, and come in a variety of styles and colors and patterns which makes them very versatile. Plus they're very well made and last as long as you take care of them, the quality vs price is way better than most other brand name shoes. Telling someone not to wear Docs because skinheads used to wear them is silly.

Re-read my post and theirs. I never once said they shouldn't wear them. I said to watch out for that stereotype since they said they wanted the classic black ones. Skinheads all dress differently so Doc Martens have been a key to scoping them out. I didn't come up with that stereotype, I'm just giving them the heads up so you need to relax.

There are still nicer looking combat boots with greater quality for cheaper than DMs. They don't have to be brand name either.

There is a reason docs are so known.
Heritage and quality

This company has been around for a long time and made with quality. These shoes are very very well made and had a long time to make it right. They are not one craftsmen or just starting out. They careful source their materials and the craftsmanship is at a high standard. Not only is the product there but their customer service is impeccable. Even if something dose happen to the product, THEY WILL fix it!!! This is great not only for their customer's shows but for the company as a whole-gaining new customers and having old patronage.

Even if you can find a company that produces similar quality for the look, it will always fall sort in some aspect! Not to mention it will not have the same classic iconic status.

Doc Martens are nice, imo. Get them if you are into them, and stop worrying how others will perceive you as.

Skinheads wear clothes. So we all shouldn't wear clothes or we will get mistaken for skinheads.

No. 168649

>>168647
Dude it's cop or not
You literally gave a halfass shit sociological book about being mistaken for a skinhead?! and instead of being supportive and providing options/help/ect you're like "do it yourself" and continue to waste your own time further derailing. In all this time you could have given doc anon some "quality price options" but no.

It's like you want to seem too important. I'm not the one with an issue fam.

For the second time, I never said they shouldn't wear them jfc.

A book? I gave a simple sentence about how they might be thought of as something and you're throwing a hissy fit over it.
>and instead of being supportive and providing options/help/ect you're like "do it yourself" and continue to waste your own time further derailing. In all this time you could have given doc anon some "quality price options" but no.
Unlike you who is so totally helping! You're doing the exact same thing and you could have also gave helpful links. Not that there's any reason to because anyone can google this shit. You've been nothing but hypocritical and incompetent the whole time.

Shoes thread aww yiss

I would like to take this moment to formally complain about platform shoes. Specifically how hard it is to find ones that aren't Demonia-tier OTT or raveshit. I'm 4"10 and heels suck and I just want to feel tall and pretty~

sage for stoned post

Dude I feel your pain. I want some nice subtle black platform boots, or if we're going OTT with chains at least to look nicely placed. Pic related are dream shoes but they don't come in gigantor size. There's just so much expensive trash to sift through.

I found some perfect simple ones on taobao for $5 but my dumbass exfriend lost them when moving. The hunt goes on…

No. 168654

>>168652
If I do wedges the incline has to be very subtle. I have bone spurs so If I try to wear shoes that put pressure on the front of my foot for too long it hurts like a motherfucker. I don't have problems with flats as long as I wear cushy insoles though.

>>168653
HNG oh god those are perfection. Please dear anime tell me their name/where to get them!

This shit.

The flat-soled "hidden wedge" nonsense.

I thought I would be safe sticking to sneakers but NOPE it got them too.

YOU ARE FOOLING NOBODYYYY RHEEEEEE

No. 168656

That is a really horrible one. I have a few boots with a hidden wedge heel, but it's never more then about and inch. That shit you might as well just wear a heeled boot.

No. 168657

>>168656
I see those 4-6" hidden wedge boots and sneakers fucking everywhere, they're so tacky. The shape of the show gives it away, the curve of the heel is way too high and if it's supposed to be "flat" why is your ankle up so high? I hate whoever invented those.

I've got a pair of second hand heeled sneakers in sliver, similar to the ones shown (mine don't have the extra bling which just makes them look tackier. And before you ask, my mom got me them and I've worn them maybe, twice?) While it's pretty obvious that there is a hidden heel, at least it tried to hide it and look like a pair of high tops. If there are shoes like >>168655 everywhere, I just wonder what is going through the minds of these designers.

No. 168659

>>168658
You can still see the heel on those pretty clearly. It's that weird inclined flatness on the side of the shoe that gives it away.

Goes up to chinese size 39… I'm 42. Considering getting them anyways and doing whatever magic I can to stretch them or smash my toes inside.

No. 168663

>>168662
Chinese sizes almost never go past 39 it's bullshit. That's like a US 7. I'm a 40/25cm and sometimes CN39 fits perfectly, sometimes crushes my feet and are completely unwearable. Because of this I only go by cm measurements anymore, Chinese sizing varies as much as any other sizing that isn't cm (unless it's Bodyline lol).

As for wearing smaller shoes, there are tricks you can do like putting bags of water in them and freezing them, using band aids to tape a couple of toes together, etc.

I wish all shoes went by length. It's 2016 and all these clothing conversions are fucking ridiculous.
I realized some other shoes I own that are a tight, but comfortable, fit say 39 so maybe I'll give those a shot! I just love them almost to the point of chopping my toes off, it's time to buy.

>>168664
Nope, and I wish they were because then surely the original would have my size. Punk Rave is a Chinese brand who sells direct on taobao and ebay, as far as what I've researched shows.
