do you like this place or is it all hype. I typically avoid this place but they've always had good fall/holiday scents

No. 166610

The candles are pretty nice. The soaps and lotions are cool too. It does get hype from time to time but I feel like it's well deserved. They have a lot of different scents and always producing more each season.

For body care I use the body cream since it moisturizes really well and body washes. I like their holiday scents but also have a couple of staples that I use throughout the year. Cucumber watermelon and night blooming jasmine being my favorites. I love vanilla scents but think their warm vanilla sugar is too strong. For the home I use their wallflowers and foaming handsoaps. I like to change our the wallflower plugs seasonally and will usually buy a small candle that matches the plugins I use. They always have some sort of deal going on so it's easy to score a huge haul for really cheap. Normally I shop for it all online. The only time I step foot into the store is if I'm not familiar with a scent and want to check it out or to return/exchange something I bought online. It's like a goddamn zoo when they have their big sales in the stores so I try to avoid that.

I think their candles and home products are great because frankly the best part of their products are the scents. The products themselves are fine, but not exactly high quality, and you can get much more/higher quality in cheaper packaging elsewhere just without the scent. I have bought the spray versions of a few scents though. Usually the travel size is enough for me to overuse then get tired of it.

Here's a tip for you guys: They will accept any used products for either full refund or exchange of a new product of equal value if you just don't like the scent. Even if it is half used. You may be blacklisted if you abuse it but hey if you have any old stuff lying around that you didn't like after you used it a few times, why not?

Does anybody know of any good alternatives to Bath & Body Works? Particularly someplace that has those little body mists like they have?

Where are you? In Canada, Winners has a nice selection of that kinda stuff. Depending on which location you go to and what's in stock, I've seen them have a lot of body fragrances/mists

Their recent scents that i've liked are wrapped in comfort, cashmere glow, moonlight path and marshmallow pumpkin.
I hate that they keep pushing that velvet sugar one though, it smells like cough syrup.

They retired that smell.

Victoria's secret, although they are essentially the same. I think at one point B&BW even carried some of the Pink line of scents.

My B&BW phases were as follows: Warm vanilla sugar and country apple pre-middle school. Japanese Cherry Blossom for my middle school weeb phase. Moonlight path early high school. Then I switched to Victoria's Secret sprays.

As for VS, Amber Romance was my scent in high school and Pure Seduction was my scent in college. Can confirm that Pure Seduction brings all of the boys to the yard. The thing I don't like about those scents is that they are so recognizable, they're like Britney Spears's Fantasy.

The VS scents I wear now are Eau So Sexy and Victoria. Not as recognizable and more adult. There was this one B&BW scent that they had for one season that was an amazing peony scent, but I haven't been able to find one like it. I keep trying their new smells, but they just don't stick to me.

Is getting those LUSH bath bombs worth it?
I'm been eyeing them and they look so lovely, especially the galactic and the 90s anime water one. Is the price worth it too? I know they only work for one time so I'd like to use only one monthly as I'm broke af. Or are the wands better? Any recommendations on LUSH bath body products for a starter?

Oh hey. Former B&BW employee here.
Don't buy the little hand sanitizers. My manager and some other bosses were cackling to each other once about how they somehow just make hands dirtier and are actually pretty useless. She even whipped around and told us to be sure to sell more before people figure that out.

Never bother asking an employee about scents either. We're grilled to promote only certain ones to make sure their sales are doing well enough to stay in stores/not get dropped. This is why sometimes they'll pitch an "old favorite" instead of just whatever new scent has come out. They had one scent..I think it was called just Red or something? It was their biggest flop, but they had invested the most into it than any other scent. Not sure if they're still desperately shilling that one anymore but if they are just ignore it lol.

Also, no matter what you do the moment you come in you have a target slapped on your back that says "hound me about what I'm looking for" because there's a sensor on the roof that tracks how many customers come in. The managers look at the stats on those to determine how many customers came in and left without buying something and then yell at employees or let some go for not pressuring more people into buying things.

TLDR; B&BW employees are lotion versions of car salesmen. Pity them, but also, just order online. Except candles, never order candles online. Those shits break.

velvet sugar is still very much in stock on the website and the store so what are you talking about

No. 166622

>>166621
Not that anon but it is getting retired. I was just at my local store and they are clearing out all the stock at discount. A quick Google will tell you the same thing.

I'm very sad. It's my favourite scent.

I don't get the hype, everything in there smells like cheap air freshener to me. Someone in my family keeps giving me warm vanilla sugar sets for Christmas and that smell in particular is nauseating.

They're fun but Lush can be a bit pricey. I treat them as a luxury. You can find bath bombs from various other companies cheaper than Lush. Check out Amazon and they'll have a set of six for $20 rather than $8 per bomb. They're just not as fancy as the Lush stuff.

I don't get why that scent is so popular either, I can't stand it. You can always exchange it for store credit or any other product with no questions asked.

No. 166626

>>166625
Don't you need a gift receipt though? I just give them away anyways.

No. 166627

>>166626
Nope, you don't need anything. I've even returned lotions that I've used before. They do ask that you tell them if you've used it though since they can't resell it.

I like buying them ocasionally, I know how to make my own (it's easy as hell) but theirs usually have some extra stuff in them like bath melts and glitter. Lush is really hit or miss though, some of their stuff sounds good in description but smells like ass or chemicals in real life.

I have so much B&B stuff people have given me that I just don't use, it's awful but I understand that it's the perfect "I don't know you enough but need to buy you something" sort of present.

No. 166630

>>166626
K thanks, I'll remember that.

>>166629
yeah, that's why I don't feel so bad giving it away. I only see them once a year, it's not like they can tell.

No. 166631

ive never gone out of my way buy anything from lush. the stuff can be really cutesy and fun but i dont consider toiletries a 'spoil me' kind of treat. you dont get much use out of them.

No. 166632

I generally loathe B&BW products, but their new White Barn scents like Mahogany Teakwood and Eucalyptus Mint are very smooth and pleasant. I have those little plug-ins all over my house now. Eucalyptus Mint is my fave for making my house smell fresh. All their other scents smell cheap, nauseating, and can trigger a migraine if I am around them too long.
