Guys I'm really freaking out about college and universities (I'm entering 11th grade now). Can anyone offer general advice or tips on the topic?
I'm planning to go to one in Canada and I've never lived there before (I'm from a shitty third world country) and I don't know what things are like or how anything works or if my grades will be good enough. Please help.

I'm not sure if it's this way in Canada, but in the US, international students do not get financial aid at most universities.

Have you decided on a specific school you want to attend? If not, you should check several to see their policy on this. (I'm just assuming that you need some level of aid since you said you're from a developing country)

Huh, that's good to keep in mind. I haven't decided on any specific schools, but I was thinking of either Guelph or University of Waterloo since they both seem to be accommodating to international students. Are they any good?

As far as I know, University of Toronto is the most prestigious school in Canada, but I have heard those names as well so I'd assume they're pretty well-regarded too

Also, even if you don't get much aid, there are still usually a lot of resources for international students at many universities. A lot of them have departments especially for them so there will probably be a lot of support if you need help with visas or insurance or anything.

You seem to speak English perfectly, so you should have no trouble making friends. Just be nice and don't act insular or only hang out with the other international students.

What are your grades like so far?

Very average. I possibly have dyscalculia, so my math grade is very low. I want to try harder after the new school year begins, though.
