I think Lolita usually looks bad on most people. Maybe because people think to be a perfect lolita you need a wig etc. I think it looks better with real hair and light makeup. I hate those ugly ass big curly wigs lolitas tend to wear.

lolita is actually very figure-flattering.
a lot of girls who are chubby wear lolita for the same reason that you see a lot of chubby girls wearing rockabilly/vintage styles. If you don't have a waist to speak of, dresses with fitted bodices, but full skirts that start at the natural waist (usually the smallest point of a woman's torso) will give the illusion of being an hourglass or pear shape rather than a rectangle.
especially in lolita, where petticoats are used, fat girls look 110% better than if they were wearing peplum tops and pencil skirts.
