That's true. It's interesting to see how different a girl can seem before she becomes a professional model and after she's featured in an actual shoot. I keep seeing this accusation tossed around a lot and I have to tell you, unlike Kendall who bought her way into modelling off the back her connections to her sister, NOBODY here in the UK would have known who the fuck you were talking about if you said "Delevingne" to them prior to Cara's explosion in popularity. She doesn't come from a family of socialites, nobody knew who the toss her family was, just some other upper-class family based in London.

A lot of people seem to forget as well that she didn't just explode onto the scene out of nowhere, Cara had been modelling since she was 10 years old and conducted her first shoot for Vogue Italia, so obviously somebody saw something in her long before there were any cries of nepotism.

That being said, I do agree about her not being a "great" model, but I love her look all the same. She's gotten kinda chubby now though so…

Nobody is talking about how famous her family are to the general public, it's referring to the connections her family had, such as connections to modelling agencies and to vogue. They don't have to be well known to people on the street to be connected. Her and her sister used those connections, which is where the nepotism comes in. Cara obviously got big because of her own behaviour (which is why she did better than her sister) but the door was definitely opened by connections that other people don't have. It's not a big deal but it still sticks her with the likes of the the hadids.

It's because she wants to be a basic bitch. I agree, she did look so special and beautiful as a guy. She knows that too. She's said it herself, her ex boyfriend told her "if you transition all the way you won't be special anymore, all you'll be is a woman who can't have kids." So she's used to being told that.

I'm curious to know why people dislike Lindsey Wixson so much. I used to like her face because her lips reminded me of my own, and I've always felt insecure about them. I can't deny her walk is awful, but she has good editorials. Now, being a bit more subjective, I stopped liking her so much because she supports Bernie Sanders, and seems like a typical "I don't know shit about politics but socialism is good! Don't feel insecure about your lips looking like hers! They are actually quite nice (her best bit IMO). Sometimes I wish they were another models lips because the rest of her is so bad.
She has interesting facial features and can be appealing in some editorials, although I think thats due to the skill of the photographers/stylists rather than Wixsons modeling ability.
On the catwalk, she is a mess. Her features are distracting, her walk poor and body ill-shaped.

I was at Barneys on Madison Ave (NYC) a few weeks ago and I saw two lanky blonde models near the elevator on the shoe floor. A woman was taking a photo of them decked out in really extravagant-looking red gowns (with gold jewelry iirc?), full faces of makeup, and heels so they were very well over 6'.

They really did look like they belonged from another planet compared to other shoppers there, even though obviously the people at Barneys aren't overweight and poorly dressed Walmart slobs. In a really good way though, like ethereal.
