I bought this dress from ASOS recently thinking it'd be a nice, cool dress to flap around in Summer.
I thought the cut would look very girly and elegant on me, of course once again I forgot to take my bust into account. I received the dress today and the buttons on the torso keep popping apart on their own. I look like a frumpy old matron in it, like I should be in an alehouse serving mead and speaking in a bitched Scottish accent.

Are womanlets ever able to pull off long dresses?
I constantly hear that they make womanlets look even shorter but the one time I wore one I had someone tell me it makes me look taller. Idk maybe they're an idiot but
I really love long dresses,
thoughts?
No. 136738
>>136737They can work, but it's largely dependent on body type imo. They make fat womanlets look even shorter and fatter, and if you've very short they're not flattering either. Otherwise you're probably fine.
I try to stick to long dresses with a defined waist, not too loose/flowy/too much material, not long enough to be close to touching the floor and I usually wear heels. Midi dresses are good if you're unsure. I'd recommend you go shopping and try some on so you can learn what won't make you look dumpy.

>Tip #3: Follow this French fashion guideline: “The higher the hem, the lower the heel. The lower the hem, the higher the heel.” If you Google either of those phrases, you’ll find all kinds of fashion blogs highlighting styles that follow this rule.
>Tip #4: Wear closed-toe heels or pumps to conservative functions. I recommend entirely avoiding open-toe heels or strappy sandals at any type of work or business event (you’ll be taken less seriously if you show up in open-toe heels – trust me on this one!), and you should definitely never wear open-toe heels or strappy sandals to a government or diplomatic function.
>Tip #5: Don’t wear thin stiletto heels to an outdoor event – you’ll sink! Literally, you will sink into the ground, aerating the lawn and pulling up chunks of dirt on your heels! That imagery alone should be enough motivation to remember not to wear thin stiletto heels to your next outdoor wedding or garden party. Opt for wedges or flats instead. No. 136826

I'm prepared to accept that there is no acceptable way to wear socks without also wearing pants, though it would be nice if that was not the case. I hate the feeling of bare floor under my feet. Yo… so I'm gonna be a godmother. Not sure how familiar y'all are with Orthodox Christian tradition but it's a pretty big deal. I need to choose a dress, but have no idea where to look. Most cheap formalware looks like shitty prom dresses. The christening is in January.
Factors:
-Can't be revealing. It doesen't need to be a burka, but boobs, back, and (probably) shoulders need to be covered. Lenghth has to be lower than fingertips.
-Can't be completely black.
-My personal style tends to be pretty minimalist. I despise florals, loud prints, corals, pastels. Not a big fan of satin and cheap lace either. I tend to look better in fall colors. I have prominent yellow undertones, brown eyes, and hair dyed mahogany.
-Am 5ft7 and a reverse triangle, with big boobs and wide shoulders, smaller waist and hips. Not fat, not thin. Average.
-Budget is <120 dollars, the lower the better, because I have to buy a gold cross for the kid plus cover a bunch of the other expenses and shit's adding up.
Pic related, a dress I like.

I'm excited for my new Dolls Kill bodysuit since I'm an edgy bitch. Any ideas for how to style this?

I am a bit of a fashion newbie but I find their designs cute. Though I haven't researched quality since I am a poorfag so Kate Spade is 2expensive4me

>>136905I already have a fairly late 60s/early 70s sense of style so maybe I'm on the right track there. Straight cut jeans and corduroy pants, vertical stripe shirts, and chunky heals look good on me.
I want to get some truly mid waist jeans to wear with a belt but I see them referred to as "mom jeans". Y'all think this is tacky or should I go for it?

I'm looking to buy a dress that looks a bit formal, but still sexy. I'm slim and have a small bust, I have pale skin with pink undertones, blonde hair, and light eyes. Which dress should I get?

>>180148Stylist here-
3rd dress from the left(black dress with lace collar) would be best, based on what you've described.
The lace detracts attention from the small bust.
For hair if you have a small face and good jaw go for a tight updo bun if not, go for a mid to low braided bun instead.
In regards to jewelry just go with some black and silver costume earings, preferably something floral to match. Though note if you opt for dangling earings make sure it's something simple and not too ornate(i.e. forget floral). Don't bother with any other jewelry aside from earings accept maybe a nice ring.

This thread needs to be moved back to /g/ but anyway, I need some fashion advice.
I have no idea what looks good on me and I can't put a cohesive outfit together at all. I don't have a style. I did the whole emo thing in high school, but I'm sure it looked stupid because I have a very baby face. Because of said face, I can't pull off mature styles. I've never been into lolita or pastel/-kei styles, so that's out. Pic related, everyone called me the "Bridge to Terabithia girl" in high school since I look like her apparently. Now that I have short hair, I probably resemble her more than ever. I've been kind of trying the ~nu hippie☆ thing, but it also looks not quite right.

>>180614>>180610I downloaded this from /fa/ a while ago, maybe it will help anyone looking for dress up guidance. It's a book for coordinating everyday clothing.
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0jc0NJQ4qefcVFNeTYzbE0wZ1E&usp=sharingThe old thread it was posted in also has a bunch of other magazines and stuff but I don't know how many of them are specifically for girls.
https://warosu.org/fa/thread/S11486957#p11503789Are there any good archives of women's magazines online, like some old LJ's or similar? I remember there used to be a lot of hair magazines that would be scanned.

>>180617vvshu and zazhimi (app) have a lot of women's magazine scans, weeb and non weeb.
I like reading the normie ones for the soft makeup and casual outfits but finding similar stuff in the west is a nightmare. I like nip magazines because the models are my size but that's no use since the clothes they wear are by default smaller and inaccessible to me. Also my moon-fu is horrible so I don't understand any styling tips written in there.

>>180610>>180614How do y'all accessorize? I also dress plainly, most of my clothes are black and simple. I balance it out with jewelry, belts, and shoes.
For example today I wore a solid black t-shirt, tucked in to my dark grey boot cut mid waist jeans. Pretty damn plain on it's own. But I also wore a thin gold chain, my silver charm bracelet, a black belt with gold stitching & buckle, and my chunky black ankle boots. Those small 4 items were enough to go from completely bland to looking like I almost have my shit together. The shoes are subtle but unique (in my area), the belt is also subtle but matches with the jewelry and helps "break up" my upper and lower halves. The bracelet gets a lot of compliments and it's a talking point. I hope nobody I know browses lolcow…
The more I practice accessorizing the better my outfits look. The fine details are what matter most. I'm not a fashion expert by any means btw I am still figuring this shit out, too.

Sorry to res the thread but anyone knows where to get similar to pic related but that won't cost me half my paycheck?
I'm from Europe and well, a dollar is worth 6-7 times more than our currency. I've tried second-hand online shops but most of the time the size is too big.
Any suggestions?

anyone that's used taobao before wanna help me out?
so I usually use aliexpress because of convenience of pretty much everything on the english site shipping to the US, even though i know that via taobao it's like half the price, but then I always figured that it'd be the same price on taobao if you factor in buying through an agent and shipping costs whereas most aliexpress shipping is free or included in the main price. buuut i just found out that now direct shipping exists via taobao world and I want to ask anyone who might've used it before if it's legit before i get TOO emotionally attached to all the cute 5 dollar shit on my wishlist (pic related). i've googled around that you have to contact the shop owner first to confirm that they do ship directly to your country but when I'm browsing the world website everything i've shopped around for says on the page that it ships directly to the US
