An open discussion about the recent trend of 'What I Eat in a Day' videos by fat people, those who aren't trying to lose weight, people suffering from EDs, or outspoken voices in the fat acceptance community.
A 'What I eat in a day video' is a video where someone showcases what they eat in an average day. Done by influencers, but recently has had a rise in the fat acceptance community with a title change of 'What I eat in a day as a fat person who's not trying to lose weight. There's a few cowlets (no pun intended) in this community too but nothing notable enough for their own thread I think.

What's your opinion on videos like this? Are there particular figures you follow? Are videos like this helpful or harmful for you? What's your stance on eating intuitively?

It's reverse Eugenia Cooney huh

Aside from WIEIAD videos, there are also binge videos.
I think they suffer from some kind of humiliation fetish, there are no pros or good things about uploading this kind of content and nobody will like it aside from chasers and hatewatchers

i've only ever seen these against my will, but when they show up on my tiktok fyp they always elicit a "yeah i can see why you're fat" response in me. as many others, i don't give a fuck what people eat, but when you post this kind of stuff on platforms that are designed to reach as many people as possible, you are basically fishing for opinions, including critical ones. but these fatties don't want criticism, only asspats. either they are too stupid to realize that they picked the wrong method for their goal, or they are really so naive to think that posting their gross diets will somehow make all fatties of the world more accepted in the future by means of??? what exactly???

No. 1278139

Cringe. What's next, smoking acceptance? Heroin abuse acceptance?

No. 1278151

The ones that are like "I ate ice cubes with lemon juice and blueberries, half a cookie and half of some shrimp meal today" are a bit silly. If that's how you ate daily, you likely wouldn't be that size.
I guess the same goes the other way around, though. A lot of model's and influencer's "what I eat in a day" videos are of their cheat day meals.

There's very few of these videos that honestly portray what they're eating daily. It's like an episode of Secret Eaters, but without the part where the person is confronted with their bad choices.

Smoking videos would be so gross, imagine showing off how you finished multiple packs of cigarettes in a day.

No. 1278200

The other day I was thinking of how funny it would be if I made one of these with my 12 daily diet cokes and binge drinking but I'm not a masochist that enjoys being the butt of a joke

No. 1278202

I feel like I'd have food poisoning if I ate this much.

I don't care, why would I waste several minutes of my life watching what other people eat? I get it when it's by healthy people and you want to know how they eat so you can imitate it, but what is the purpose otherwise?

I think it’s primarily trying to trigger their eating disorder into a restrictive phase with the embarrassment and shame they create by posting these

No. 1278249

I can say with confidence most of these women are 1000% lying about what they eat in a day because even they're ashamed of the amount they eat. Some of them would have to be eating double or triple the amount to be the size they are now. Not saying what they do show isn't a lot, but you know it's more

I don't see the value in this research honestly, maybe the article did a bad job at portraying it, but it doesn't seem like they found out anything interesting. Showing up on time to get your addictive drugs doesn't indicate overall reliability, and responsibility necessarily; you'd have to document consistency where they can be trusted, and competent to make decisions under other circumstances where they aren't motivated by getting free drugs. Also, even if you gave the alternatives like money, of course they would take it and use it for anything, like anyone else would. Just because they didn't use it for drugs, doesn't mean that they made responsible choices with that money, I'm not sure what they're basing that judgment on. Did they put the money in a savings account? Did they use that money to feed their children? I'm not sure what the standards were of what was a responsible choice, if the standards were just "they didn't use the money for drugs", then I don't think that's enough to prove responsibility. If they're getting free drugs, then why would they spend that money on drugs from other people, probably illegally? I really would have to read more into this to understand what indicated these people were responsible, because what's provided isn't enough to substantiate anything.

Probably unpopular but I think it's lowkey based, not the vids where it's like 3000+ or massive binges, but diets that are unhealthy clearly but not insanely unrealistic for working people. (These are the what-I-eat-as-a-fat-person-who-doesn't-want-to-lose-weight.) I actually think from what I've seen of these diets, the fat part of them is due to lack of exercise.
The based part I feel is when almost all the comments are mad men who are angry that the women are clearly showing they don't really care about the hate, and won't restrict.
I've never encountered binge videos or anything like that, only ones where they have like 2 regular meals with snacks in between. But I think any binge content ie ED content is negative always, fat or thin.

honestly i think people give too much shit to slightly overweight people. a lot of them do it to cope with stress and i can't really fault them for that considering the horrible rat race nearly all of us participate in. the only time it pisses me off is when they make fun of how much skinnier people eat, like telling them to eat a burger or call them sticks or other nonsense like that. i've noticed younger women/influencers (not moids) are generally a lot kinder to people of all weights which i appreciate

No. 1278290

it just baffles me how they think it's normal to have every meal be fast food/take out. The fact you know they're eating way more off camera is also insane. And the portion sizes are huge

Same kek. People only started complaining when women joined in on the moids fat = muscle cope. We know why. Even the HAES is true, losing weight is a journey and you can be making healthy decisions while overweight, you do not suddenly become thin when you eat well and exercise, it takes time for the weight to drop off before you see results. Plus it makes scrotes chimpout while the same ones who chimp out are the same fatass moids who wear 'no fat chicks' t-shirts. It is based.

It reminds me when a scrote in regular scrote fashion handed out cards calling people fat at the train station. Guess which sex he only handed cards to? Women. Scrotes only give a fuck about fuckability while hiding behind pretending to care, while having never 'cared' about fat scrotes kek.

If they're uploading it on Tiktok they probably pick the most interesting food days to show, like on weekends when they eat out. The more boring days with home cooking probably aren't posted as much.

Did I trigger burgers or something? I have nothing against overweight women. Cooking healthy meals and being active takes a lot of effort, time and mental energy. I know that it is a lot easier to eat junk when you are stressed, poor and overworked but it's not some big own towards society or men. Treating your body well through a balanced diet and physical activity, not relying on food as a coping mechanism, not buying processed crap from shady companies (too often) is based. Living a long life without clogged arteries, high cholesterol and diabetes is based.

I’ve always wondered whether the fat people I know who claim to live off of fruit, crackers and unsweetened green tea are simply lying or actually delusional. Some of them will steadfastly deny eating junk even when the entire office saw them with that donut and the wrapper is still in the bin next to their desk. Sometimes I think it’s a legitimate mental illness. But the people making these videos have to consciously be leaving things out, right? Surely if you’re filming all of your meals for a day you are more aware of what you’re eating than usual.

>>1279003
I think ot a legitimate addiction, addicts can't always see how much they are using. Like an alcoholic saying they'll just drink a little, when a little for them could be an entire bottle. There was a show called Secret Eaters a few years ago that (kinda creepily) followed overweight people around and recorded everything they ate in the day then showed them the footage, many of them didn't believe or outright denied how much they were consuming. A lot of WIEIAD videos are probably only recording meals they sit down to and have prepared, not the constant snacking or counting drinks.
