I’m guilty of having done this as a teenager. I am rather tall and broad shouldered with big boobs and I was perceived as “grown” looking since age 12. (Hit puberty early) I just didn’t wanna look old when I was like 17 so I flattened my boobs as much as a could and tried reducing my height by having bigger hair to look smaller etc. it’s probably popular cause looking older=bad.
